great atmosphere and food. they managed to squeeze us in to the pizzeria (a table of 4) at 8pm on a saturday night without a booking which was very appreciated. the food comes out fast, and is worth the price paid. over the course of the evening i saw the staff greet and farewell many people in a very personal manner. it almost felt like all the customers were friends. will definitely be back.

made a reservation for saturday dinner at 6.00pm whereby there were still parking spots available within the emporium complex. note, you will have to choose to sit either on the ala carte side or the pizzeria side.
we ordered the ala carte specials for the evening to share amongst three people - sardines (and aranchini balls) for entrees, the linguine with pippis for a light dish, and confit lamb rack with organic polenta for the main, and a side dish of cauliflowers. everything was prepared and cooked beautifully, with each element complimenting each other.
we ordered cocktails and wines too. our waitress was extremely helpful and friendly, and knew the wine list very well.
dark, comfy ambience with a touch of class. expect $60-$70 per person, including drinks.
overall, a sophisticated and good italian dinner option for a night out.

we absolutley loved eating here. the service was excellent from as soon as you walk in the door. through out our meal wait staff where always topping up our wines and checking in on us.the capaccio di manzo was great starter , great flavours with the truffle, fresh crispy greens, very well balanced with all the different textures. for mains i had the lamb rack which was cooked medium rare to perfection and went very well with the basil mash potatoes.
there are a lot of italian restaraunts around but i think this place ticks alot of boxes.

***review no. 500***

i took my team to ristorante tartufo to celebrate a successful end to the financial year and to mark my 500th zomato review.

i was looking forward to revisiting this highly rated italian restaurant and was prepared to splash out for a high-end experience. unfortunately, the food was a bit of a let down.

we began our meal with a bottle of sparkling wine (cloudy bay pelorus) and orders of bruschetta, arancini balls, calamari fritti and burrata.

the bruschetta was tasty, but the bread was a bit too dry and rated 3.5. the arancini balls were also a bit dry and crumbled a bit too much when cutting into it. the flavor was good and this rated a 3. it was a generous serving of calamari fritti, but they were average and rated a 3. the burrata was a little tough on the outside and not nearly as creamy as i am used to on the inside. this too rated a 3. we were off to a very average start - not what we were expecting.

for mains we ordered the duck confit risotto special, the rigatoni saliscce and the porchetta (pork belly) to go along with a terre al lago pinot.

the duck confit risotto had good, but slightly overpowering, flavors. the beans, greens, arborio rice, cheese and duck came together nicely, but the texture was a bit inconsistent. the duck was nice and tender, but the dish as a whole rated 3-3.5.

the rigatoni saliscce combined italian pork sausage, fried eggplant, smoked mozzarella, tomato, basil and parmesan with tender rigatoni. this was the only dish that really met expectations and rated a 4.

the porchetta received mixed reviews. i found the meat itself to be a bit dry, while the crackling was a bit too soft. the dish as a whole just wasn't as tender as i have come to expect from nice restaurants. the dish did have good flavour and rated 3.5-4. my colleague rated it a 4 and felt that the only thing keeping it from being 4.5-5 was the crackling wasn't crispy enough.

good service and the food came out very quickly, but overall, the restaurant rated 3.5 when we were expecting 4-5 for the $60-$70 per person.

in my opinion there are far better italian restaurants in brisbane at better prices.

excellent food and excellent staff. we visited today and the staff doted on our son making sure he was fed first so we got to eat in peace. the mushroom pasta and seafood linguini were fantastic, even our sons meal of meatball pasta was lovely. we shared the pear tart which was absolutely spot on. would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys italian food, as we have been here before on a busy night and the food quality was exactly the same high quality. fantastic for a lazy sunday lunch or special night out on the town, this place is a must visit.

hi, my family and i dined at tartufo tonight
(monday 3 april) we found the pizza to be akin to eating processed cardboard.

i travel extensively oversees every year and eat pizza in many different counties, i found the pizzas at tartufo lousy.

i will never take my family there again.

conrad holland, brisbane.

when you approach this restaurant you know something special is about to happen. it just has all the expressions of coolness.
walking into the foyer you are greeted by thick italian accents and a marvelous decor that defies brisbane. in fact i felt like i was at a high end vegas hotel italian eatery. our waiter andrea was funny, suave and attentive....we had a ball. considering we were a group of 8 the service was exceptional. now the food and wine, i could not wait to get to the airport to write this review.
pasta fungi, pork rigatoni calamari, antipasto, arancchi tomato mozzarella, and a great in fact exceptional selection of wine. what really impressed me was the effort they went too for our vegetarian guests, sautéed mushrooms, salads, arancchini, vegetable pasta, so nice and so great.
to top it off the manager insisted we have a lemon chelo to n him.
if you are in this part of brisbane it's a must.

wow, what a great experience we had. after our initial dinner plans fell through, we found ourselves at tartufo on a saturday night without a booking and feeling slightly under dressed. nevertheless, and despite being quite busy they offered us seating at the bar, as the rest of the restaurant was full. the service was exceptional, the gentleman behind the bar was happy to talk us through the menu and even suggested what wine would compliment our meals. we had the tartufo pizza and a seafood/chilli pasta and both of them were to die for. fresh, light and flavorsome. the atmosphere was completely unpretentious, relaxing and sophisticated. we will definitely be back!

love this place. make sure you try the signature tartufo pizza with truffle paste through the crust! i also loved the dessert pizza with ricotta, strawberries & nutella.

such a nice place and great friendly staff. my sister and i tried two different pastas which were disappointing! although they make their own pasta, the seasoning and flavour was below average. the worst part is definitely the portion size! you'll pay around $27 for an entree size meal.

fantastic vegetarian food. my partner and i had the vegetarian degustazione menu which was a lot of food for a great price. the service was brilliant and our waiter was very friendly and polite. i would highly recommend this restaurant. we have previously been to the less formal bar/dining area and that too was a great experience.
