food was lovely but the service was horrid. the waiter really didn't have a clue. waited ages for him to come to our table, then we had to ask him to take our order, pepper offered half way through our meal, dessert menus just plonked in front of us without saying a word, water not regularly filled, then he didnt fill wine glasses all night and when he finally did gave the rest of the bottle to one person and walked off without asking if we wanted to order more drinks. it wasn't too busy but the guy looked harassed and sweaty... not what you'd expect from this type of place!

everything that comes out of this kitchen and bar is sublime. whether it's fine dining (i had the best snapper of my life here) or their amazing pizza, they are ahead of the game in brisbane. top notch! ten points for their espresso martini as well.

sounds good, but delivery was bland. each meal had potential but lacked that dimension that could have made it beautiful. the menu sounds great, however the delivered product was bland, not thought out and seemed to miss those important elements that make a dish complete. eg my plate had a chunk of veal and some rocket next to it. they could have put a few roasted tomatoes, some sauce for the meat and maybe just a light shaving of parmesan over the rocket to make it more appetizing... but no... just your chunk of meat and some bland rocket...frustrating because it doesn't take mush effort to make a dish complete..

great pizza!. possibly the best pizza i have eaten! i have dined here a few times and all the food has been outstanding, not just the pizza.
i found the phone manner of the female staff member unhelpful and almost rude when making a booking and some of the wait staff a bit arrogant, but everything else is great.

i'm slowly becoming more adventurous with pizza toppings and a visit to tartufo ristorante in emporium brisbane gave me the perfect reason to try something new. we were out for dinner for my friend's birthday so of course it was cocktails all round! for pizza choices i went with the capricciosa with champagne ham, artichokes, mushrooms and olives as toppings. my friend went with the primavera with cherry tomatoes, prosciutto, rucola and basil as toppings, and her friend had the vegitariana which yes, you guessed it, is a vegetarian pizza. i have to say hands down that it easily in the top 3 pizzas i've ever eaten! i was so happy with my choice and everyone else seemed to love their pizzas too. the base was delicious and definitely made the pizza. i loved this pizza so much that i've been inspired to make a pasta dish with artichoke and olives, two things i've never really liked before. the brisbane emporium also looked gorgeous with all the fairy lights climbing up the palm trees at night. a great place to eat and drink on a night out in brisbane. link love twitter | facebook | bloglovin | instagram

excellent food. my partner and i had the $90 degustation menu.
all the meals were excellent but very small...be warned if you have a a large appetite you may find yourselves stopping by mcdonalds for a burger. thank goodness for the bread!

next time i will order al la carte since some reviews indicate their servings are larger. it's my first time here so i wanted to sample as many dishes as possible.

i think the price is fair for what we received. we had excellent service and thoroughly enjoyed the night.

the standout for me was the pea and corn risotto, i'm definitely ordering this in main size next time...actually looking over the menu again i want to order everything in main size!

2nd visit still tasty but suspicious waiter. second visit still proved to be delicious with the food hitting home runs for us from entree, main and dessert. the only let down is that we were overcharged with two extra drinks. although they claimed that this was a "mistake" we had a lurking feeling that the waiter put this on our bill as he was not happy with us for not ordering more drinks. my suggestion: go through the bill before you put down your card.

divine. tartufo is a dream to dine at. we thoroughly enjoyed the pasta and the friendly efficient service was superb.

we shared 2 entrees and 2 mains and left very full.
for entrees we had the calzoni which was crunchy in the right places and very flavoursome. the arancini was similarly tasty.

the pastas were delicious! one of the best i've had. we had the linguine positino and the spanner crab special. both were flavoursome, complex in flavour and so tasty!

the service is very efficient, friendly and really gets the job done.

overall, faultless. would come back again and again if i didn't live interstate!

best pizzaria i've been to in australia, 2nd best i've tried in the world!. i've now been here three times with three different groups of friends. i first heard about the place from an italian uber driver. he recommended it as quite authentic. so i tried to order a takeaway pizza one day over the phone and they said i had to come in in person and then order. so i didn't do it.. and months went by until finally my fiancé and i went. what a wonderful experience we had!

the pizzas are what i describe as orgasmic! the bases are perfectly made, the sauce delicious and the right portions and the cheese quality and quantity also work really really well. every person i've taken there takes their first bite of the pizza and pauses for moment as they try and savour the explosion of goodness that hits their mouth. the best pizza i've tried was in a little village which i never caught the name of in tuscany, italy. this is the closest thingbice tried to it! highly recommend the place - very busy though so worth booking ahead if you're more than 2 people! i've tried to post some pictures but they don't do it justice. a must try!

great food, even better service but a large price tag attached. my partner and i had prior warning that the restaurant was a fine dining setting and expect to order several courses. the fine dining was correct, but i felt that the restaurant had an improved vibe compared to many other high end eateries around town. the necessity for several courses wasn't the case, as main meals are massive. entree pasta dishes would feed a female easily. the quality of food was top notch, with complex flavours and additions to the menu that you would expect at an italian restaurant based in australia. however, we were shocked to see no pizza options on the menu, given we had read reviews of the best pizzas in bris prior to our visit. realising after meal that the pizzeria is a separate section of the restaurant...take note of this if your out for a fine slice of pizza. service was brilliant, couldn't fault. would i return...yes but not in a hurry given the stress on the back pocket. reserve for a special occasion.

ever wondered what it would be like to dine at a chef's home, sitting at their table to enjoy what ever they felt like cooking on the night? instead of agonising over menu choices you would be free to enjoy conversation while food flows to the table on share plates for everyone to pass around and taste. now just change the location and put your dinner party in tartufo for tony peruoco's chef's table and you have a matching experience. tony is your host for the night, inquiring whether you have any dietary issues or preferences and checking how the night is going as you progress through the courses. he cooks the food he grew up with, using seasonally fresh local produce except for the italian olives and parmesan cheese which says australians just don't make with the same flavours. expect arancini balls made to tony's mother's recipe, local calamari flash fried for five minutes, braised veal that was his childhood favourite and other recipes gleefully stolen from his brother. one of the best things about this chef's table is the food just keeps coming.  tony has set the price at $50 per person with a minimum of six people to a table.  it looks pretty good value to me. here's what we ate - salumi misti - traditional italian antipasto insalata caprese - fresh sliced tomatoes topped with mozzarella, basil and extra virgin olive oil

christmas party banquet. our group of 26 guests had an absolute feast last night at tartufo! the chef arranged for a generous array of dishes to be shared across the table beginning with fresh bread and olives, antipasti, caprese salad, calamari, arancini, vitello tonnato, margherita pizzas, two pasta dishes (linguine with mushrooms and rigatoni with ham and zucchini), salad, and finally a semifreddo dessert. at $60 per head this was extremely good value! the service and atmosphere were both excellent and everyone from our group seemed to have an enjoyable evening. this was an excellent choice for a large group, and i would be keen to return and order a la carte in a smaller group.
