overated. i booked thisrestauranthoping to enjoy a good food in a good atmosphere. i am very disappointed with the overall experience : inexperienced maitre d'hotel, tasteless dishes poorly displayed, very loud environment. thisrestaurantshould not be mentioned as one of the top in the city. it is a shame.

tried on 18th may 2019. sadly very disappointed. ordered seafood pasta, truffle pasta and truffle pizza for take away. they got the order wrong and we got seafood pizza instead which we regretfully had to accept since we have a toddler and they were busy. pizzas were delicious. but their truffle pasta has zero salt. we believe they forgot to add salt. considering how they got our order wrong to begin with, they probably had an off day and we were unlucky. we were so excited to try our local and highly ratedrestaurantfor the first time but beccofino or il verde are definitely better around this area.

i can't comprehend how thisrestaurantconstantly receives praise and publicity from various food critics! fantastic fit out and fine service but food is average at best and this is after 3 attempts. when will brisbane learn?

beware of coercion and bullying in your work if you give thisrestauranta negative review! a few days ago, i wrote and posted a negative review about thisrestaurantin another website.
i made an honest personal statement about what i think about, it seems that we still living in a free country, and we have the right to express our opinions and dissatisfaction. believe me, it's not true anymore!
on last wednesday evening i was called by my ex-manager. she was angry, and almost out of control. what she said was intimidating, demanding and abusive. it is wholly inappropriate, and the situation had nothing to do with her.
she, in an extremely arbitrary way, as if she was my "master", demanded that i withdraw the comment i made about her friend's restaurant. uncontrolled attitude! very audacious!
the approach of coercion and bullying to try and provoke fear will not be tolerated and this sickening mentality has no place in a civilised and free country. it is evident that this restaurant, and those you associate with it are part of the problem these actions symptomatic of a deteriorating society. it is cowardly, arrogant, and very pathetic behaviour.
shame on you!

i attempted to book for thisrestaurantusing zomato, the app allowed me to do this and confirmed my reservation via email. tonight i started getting messages from zomato informing me my reservation has been cancelled. i phoned therestaurantwho very politely advised that they don’t support reservations through apps as they take several days to come through to them, and in future i need to either book on their website or by phone.

it has now been 6 days since i made this reservation, and i’ve just now become aware i have no reservation for valentine’s day, which is now just 4 days away.

i am so upset that this has happened. i think therestaurantshould disable the ability to book through the app if it is not supported. my partner and i were looking forward to dining here so much - for the past few days we keep saying to each other “oh my god! dinner on friday night!!” we never splurge or dine out at fancy places so this was going to be an exception in the name of romance.

i hope that at the very least, i can save just one other person from using the zomato booking feature for this restaurant.

terrible service and disrespectful to the customers. we went to thisrestaurantfor my wife’s birthday and brought our own cake, but was told they won’t serve it for us. fine, but we ordered four dishes, they didn’t even give us a free desert decoration. just unbelievable! we got free desert for all the other fine dinning restaurants here in brisbane on our birthday night

food is awful too. as the pic shows, they put uncooked peas in the risotto, that totally ruin the dish, so unprofessional. even myself can cook better dish than their chefs! will never come back

ristorante tartufo is without a doubt the best italian in brisbane! it is the perfect blend of authentic home cooked italian food with a modern twist! the service is outstanding and the owners often come out to greet their customers- just like they do in italy! :) i honestly cannot fault this place. from the food, to the service, to the overall vibe - thisrestauranthas always been consistently excellent. thank you to the owners and the team at tartufo...we can’t wait to dine here again! :)

hand made pasta was delicious, both the scampi and he mushroom with truffle linguine were top notch. and not ridiculously big servings either. entree of calamari was tender and nicely cooked. dessert of pana cotta was very good too. very friendly service, will have to go back to try the pizza! just a tip if you sit in therestaurantarea you can’t order pizza.

***review no. 500***

i took my team to ristorante tartufo to celebrate a successful end to the financial year and to mark my 500th zomato review.

i was looking forward to revisiting this highly rated italianrestaurantand was prepared to splash out for a high-end experience. unfortunately, the food was a bit of a let down.

we began our meal with a bottle of sparkling wine (cloudy bay pelorus) and orders of bruschetta, arancini balls, calamari fritti and burrata.

the bruschetta was tasty, but the bread was a bit too dry and rated 3.5. the arancini balls were also a bit dry and crumbled a bit too much when cutting into it. the flavor was good and this rated a 3. it was a generous serving of calamari fritti, but they were average and rated a 3. the burrata was a little tough on the outside and not nearly as creamy as i am used to on the inside. this too rated a 3. we were off to a very average start - not what we were expecting.

for mains we ordered the duck confit risotto special, the rigatoni saliscce and the porchetta (pork belly) to go along with a terre al lago pinot.

the duck confit risotto had good, but slightly overpowering, flavors. the beans, greens, arborio rice, cheese and duck came together nicely, but the texture was a bit inconsistent. the duck was nice and tender, but the dish as a whole rated 3-3.5.

the rigatoni saliscce combined italian pork sausage, fried eggplant, smoked mozzarella, tomato, basil and parmesan with tender rigatoni. this was the only dish that really met expectations and rated a 4.

the porchetta received mixed reviews. i found the meat itself to be a bit dry, while the crackling was a bit too soft. the dish as a whole just wasn't as tender as i have come to expect from nice restaurants. the dish did have good flavour and rated 3.5-4. my colleague rated it a 4 and felt that the only thing keeping it from being 4.5-5 was the crackling wasn't crispy enough.

good service and the food came out very quickly, but overall, therestaurantrated 3.5 when we were expecting 4-5 for the $60-$70 per person.

in my opinion there are far better italian restaurants in brisbane at better prices.
