red's in ramsay

excellent service. our family visited red's today. we were a large group of fourteen with 5 children. our server was phenomenal. she took everything we requested in stride, extra spoons, more ice for the kids, a bowl of whipped cream and our mess. we have been to many restaurant and it is not often that we get a server who is so wonderful and who serves us with grace and kindness.
the food was delicious, served in a timely manner and well portioned.
thank you red's for making our family lunch a success.

breakfast birthday. hi!
i've been to red's several times before and i decided to have a birthday breakfast party there. although red's doesn't take reservations, the staff helped me out and had the tables put together (i had 16 people party) before the time the guests were coming. i am so grateful to the staff of the red's in ramsay! it was amazing and i was very blessed! thank you for going an extra mile and making my day special!

mediocre. red's has the type of brunch one can find anywhere. unfortunately when i went last weekend the hollandaise they doused my eggs benny in was made with butter that had clearly gone bad. i am surprised that a place would decide to not only make, but serve, something that has turned. it's hard to tell if the butter has gone bad from looking at it - one has to taste/smell it.
there is only one way to describe the price points at red's. think of what you would want to pay for something and add 3-4 bucks to it. there's your price!
overall, food was mediocre and there is truly no ambience or charm of any sort. a pass in my books.

friendly atmosphere and spacious layout. we've been to a lot of diners in calgary and this one is one of our favourites. every server we've had has been friendly and accommodating. the diner itself is larger than most, so it doesn't feel like we're crammed in with other patrons. the serving sizes of breakfasts are substantial and being celiac, i appreciate that they ask if my gluten free toast order is for "an allergy" - haven't had any reactions so assuming they are taking my gluten free request seriously. great coffee too.

worst service ever! waited 30 mins for someone to take out order, but our server helped later patrons to the diner. very disappointing! walked out with only being serves tea and that was 6 bucks for 2!

terrible customer service. i'm a vegetarian and asked to add salsa to my veggie omelet. she didn't hear me correctly and thought i asked for added sausage. i told her after the meal (that i didn't eat) that there was sausage in my veggie omelet. she proceeded to correct me with "didn't you ask to add sausage?" no. i asked for salsa. she did apologize but did not remove the meal from our bill, instead she didn't charge us for our coffees. i believe paying 13.99 for two pieces of toast and hashbrowns is rediculous. i won't be back.

love it, but just one issue.... this is a hip little spot for a late morning breakfast or brunch. they are open for later meals, but this is when we've gone. four times. i like the food, nice variety on the menu, and the price point is good. they're usually busy and they set the table in front of you after you're seated. here is the "but".....twice i've noticed the server setting down each of our utensils touching the end where we eat from, right in front of us! two different servers. do they train them to touch the part you eat from? i don't like that.

stuff in the way. i waited in line to be seated at a table that is half taken up but stuff i don't need with my breakfast. not cute, just stupid

hands down favourite. always enjoy coming here, pleasant atmosphere, good prices, and the food is always a hit. love getting the salmon eggs benedict here, it is always consistently good, but it can take a little longer if you come here in a group, it was a group of 6 when we went. last time it took us about 50 minutes from we ordered until we got our food, server was on top of it though informed us. service is attentive, however it can be extremely lousy if they are full.. which to some point, is understandable. nonetheless, still a happy camper.

update, july 2014, the dinner menu is gone and so is their fantastic meatloaf, so sad. but their well known breakfast and lunch menu still great. their patio is so cozy and dinner hour is not busy.

date night. we've gone to the beltline location for its brunch and had fun so when they announced their inglewood, which is really ramsay, location we couldn't wait to try it.

this location is open to 7pm i think, and so close to downtown that its a quick drive from our downtown work locations so we can avoid rush hour and have a nice supper before the drive home. the location is a rennovated old pizza place i think, but its totally amazing inside which is all new and has that real cozy yet upscale diner feel with lots of exposed brick that feels warm on a long winter's night.

everything we have tried has been awesome, especially the meatloaf (to die for seriously), the poutine is good, the steak is good, the all day breakfast is always yummy. the only thing we haven't gone over the moon for is the dessert menu, nothing really too inticing that we'd ordered from it yet. the service is very good, always hipsters with a fun attitude. this place for the supper hour hasn't quite been discovered yet so when we go for our date night we always get our pick of booths and the server's full attention. its a hidden gem right now.
try it and the meatloaf.

great service. stopped by on a whim, looked like a neat place. it is, neat, nice and clean, trendy. pretty pricy though. $11 for your average 2 egg, bacon, hashbrowns & toast. after looking around and seeing breakfast on other tables, we opted to share the red's big breakfast for $15. it is big. eggs over easy - were over cooked. hashbrowns - over cooked and cold quickly, maybe made earlier and reheated? bacon - chewy, sausage - ok. pancake - pretty good and large - although they wanted to charge a couple bucks for more syrup (really???). the service was excellent, but for $21.00 (not including gst or tip yet) for a shared breakfast and 2 coffee, won't be back. you can get all of this at the black diamond bakery for $4.95.

hashbrowns are terrible. we've tried red's in ramsay twice now. the service is great with friendly staff. we have a family of 5 and have sampled a few of their dishes. great atmosphere as well. we ordered the eggs benedict and omelets. they were great. however, not one of us liked the hashbrowns, they were completely mushy and had absolutely no flavor at all. i noticed all of the tables around us were also not eating them. if you substitute fruit for hashbrowns, which we tried on our second visit, they charge you an additional $5. i had the reuben with fries and gravy the second time i went and it was also really good. i just can't get past how bad the hashbrowns are and the up-charge for fruit.

great food, service is very great, upbeat environment. prices are fair considering portions. would definitely recommend

lunch at reds. a friend and i went to reds for lunch. the waitress was polite and super efficient. the food was superb, however the manager moved my friend's walker from beside the table . the walker was not returned to the table when needed. later while she was waiting for a cab, she needed to use the facilities. this man asked what she was doing and she told him. he appeared to be waiting for her waiting for her when she exited the washroom as if to escort her out.. does this person have an attitude about older people using the restaurant- if so please post a sign stating no seniors allowed.
