not gluten friendly. since ramsi's is listed as gluten friendly on several louisville sites i feel the need to add this review. ramsi's does have a gf designation on their menu and you can order from quite a wide variety of gf items, that is where the gluten friendly ends.

i believe they are not at all careful in their preparation of gf foods. i gave them a try twice thinking maybe the first time was just a fluke. bothtimesi became grossly ill after eating there choosing a gf item bothtimesand mentioning to the server that i have celiac.

the rest of my family really enjoys ramsi's as for me i will no longer be going there. if you want good local and safe gf food go to northend cafe and save yourself from becoming ill.

i'm still shocked about the hype over this place.

basically olive garden but 3timesthe cost. nothing here impresses me. just another overhyped hipster place

i guess if i had bad facial hair and listened 5o indie music i would dig this place.

my husband and i went for a late dinner at ramsi's. we arrived a little after 11pm on saturday night. the place was fairly full, but we were seated immediately. the host asked us if we would like to sit in the room with the piano player or in a quieter room. we choose the quieter room. i started out with a dizzy ginger cocktail ($9.00). for dinner my husband chose the greek salad with chicken ($13.95) and i opted for the empress
chicken ($15.75). the greek salad was large and was made with fresh feta cheese, which was delicious! the only complaint was that the olives were not pitted. the salad came with two sides of dressing, but one was plenty. my empress chicken was very good, but a little spicy for my taste. it was served over basmati rice with broccoli and mushrooms. for me personally a little less sauce would have made it perfect. we have been to ramsi's severaltimesand try to get something different every time.

i've visited a fewtimesfor lunch only, and found it to be a great place to bring clients and staff for a unique and flavorful meal. the place is often packed though but i highly recommend.

love sunday brunch!. we have enjoyed the sunday brunch manytimessince moving to louisville, but we have not dined for lunch or dinner. our favorites at the brunch include gorgonzola chicken, nachos, cheese tortellini, made to order omelets, and chocolate raspberry trifle for dessert. the price includes unlimited milk and orange juice. the place is always packed for sunday brunch and the waiting area is very small, so we would recommend getting there as early as possible. this restaurant is a must when showing visitors the great food in louisville.

consistent. i visit ramsi a fewtimesevery year. always enjoy the meals and attentive service at reasonable prices.

their menu has a wide variety of cuisine, so they can usually accommodate anyone's taste.

a long time louisville favorite!

terribly disappointed. we visited ramsi's last saturday and found a crowd waiting for tables but several tables sitting empty (never a good sign). we were seated after about a 20 minute wait and offered a table in the enclosed patio and toon it after being told "it's the same temperature as inside". that was not the case. it was very cold. they tried multipletimesto light a heater next to our table but never could. the wrestling with the heater happened 3timesfor ten minutes at a time right next to our table. very annoying. our server didn't show for about 20 minutes and disappeared severaltimesalways with the promise of "i'll be right back". she never was. the menu is unique and i could see how people could be attracted to the diversity it offers. the food itself was good, but far from great. certainly not worth the bad service and overall fruatrating experience.

fish sandwiches. i have been to ramsi's manytimesthroughout the years i've lived in louisville. the two fish sandwiches i've had there are very tasteful. if you like white fish try selma's favorite fish sandwich. its dressed with a caper tartar sauce that sets it apart from anything i've had before. the foccacia buns are big, and somewhat overwhelming, but overall the sandwhich is delicious. it is served with home fries ( baked potatoes, garnished). the other sandwich is the smoked salmon panini. the cream cheese and hardboiled egg, along with the capers add a punch of flavor that is light and healthy. it is easier to eat than the selma sandwich. if your looking for fish, try these two sammys.

nice restaurant. i've been there a fewtimesand had a different dish every time. and we always liked it. i just don't like it that it's so busy on the weekends, lol... crab cakes are good, but the waiters seem a little shabbily dressed, i don't know, didn't bother me too much, just looked weird.

used be great, what happened?. ramsi's used to be a great place to eat, and the food was always tasty. sadly, the last 3timesi have been there my food has been less then mediocre and on my last visit it was just plain bad. (menu item - moussa khan)

at first i thought it was just me, but even my fiance' has complained about the food the last couple times, and some of my co-workers have all said the same thing. its a shame because this place used to be a staple for bardstown road dinning, but i just can't recommend it anymore. what happened?

bad service, good food. not the best service, but the food is always good. i always get the egyptian kitchen, but there are plenty of other vegetarian options that i will try one of these days...

for me, ramsi's is always hit or miss. sometimes i really like it, and othertimesi do not. the last couple oftimeshave been "nots". i do enjoy the atmosphere and the vegetarian-friendly menu. it is a great place to meet friends, but the food and service are not always great.

good food and atmosphere. i have been to ramsi's moretimesthan i can remember, and have never been let down. the atmosphere is lively, the decor old world/middle eastern/etc, and beer/wine selection is good. my girlfriend and i usually get the chips and salsa for the appetizer, and both get the egyptian kitchen. i have tried numerous items on the menu, everything is good.
