we have been to a few ramen eateries and though some of them are actually quite good, the standout for ramen do is its value for money. for most ramen eateries, we often only get one piece of pork belly whereas with ramen do, we actually got quite a few pieces. i actually thought that they might have taken the order for the bigger bowl but that was not the case. so for $12 it is actually quite worthwhile. also, the soup is not overall salty and the noodles are handmade. the ponzu chicken is also unique. the only thing that is different from what i am used to was the agedashi tofu. it was served in a thick soup. i am not sure whether it is a japanese thing but this may catch some people off guard. next time i would try their tonkatsu ramen that comes with a separate bowl of sesame seeds/paste.

dimmed lighting, faint jazz music, and cozy seating. ramendo is an intimate eatery that is perfect for a small group of friends or couples on a date.

i ordered a chicken based paiten. amazingly grilled chicken, with a light sweetness. the chicken was not dry and held the broth flavor well. there was a chewiness to the noodles which gave it a nice texture, if you’re a slurper (like me) then these noodles are excellent for slurping. one aspect of ramen that i will always adore is the way they do their eggs. half boiled they put some sauce into the yolk, making it simply irresistible.

great to hear the staff speaking japanese, provides a sense of authenticity to the experience. a near perfect solo dining experience, ramen do has certainly climbed up in mind as a top ramen bar in auckland.

showstopper: grilled chicken, yolk or broth, it’s the combination of the ingredients that produce a fantastic wholesome meal.

the best ramen i've had in new zealand, with tasty food and great service. the atmosphere is calm and clean. the vegetable ramen comes with a healthy serve of veges, but has a fish base, so is not fully vegetarian. the best and only vegan option is the fried noodles, which are tasty. i highly rate ramen do and its my go-to!

just been here for dinner.  the restaurant was not too big. that night was quite crowded. but surpringly the wait was not too long. the service was as expected. the food was tasty and the serving was reasonably large and the prices were acceptable.

we are happy with the restuarant and it's food and will definitely return.

really loved this place. ten-ten would go back again. portions were rly big for about nzd 12-13, but the main highlight of this place was the soup base used for the ramen. it was everything you could want from a hearty ramen soup and more. their noodles were slightly different from the straight common variety easily found in most restaurants and are slightly curly but not as curly as instant noodles. they also had the authentic japanese tea egg in their ramen which all of the other japanese restaurants that i've been to lacked. all in all, give this place a try if you wanna experience authentic japanese cuisine at low prices. no complaints at all.

came here on a sunday evening. it’s a popular ramen place for the locals and their serving sizes are pretty big for its price. we got the hokkaido miso ramen, spicy and non-spicy, agedashi tofu, and takawasa.

the takawasa, had a bit of a chilli-sour taste to it which takes the fishy smell away from the raw octopus and just makes it more edible and flavorful. the agedashi tofu was thick in soup and had a light salty taste to it.
the ramen however, was a bit overhyped. the hokkaido is their most popular dish, and the broth was flavorful, but the ramen (thin egg noodles) was bland as it didn’t absorb the flavor from the broth. other than that, service was attentive yet busy.

taste - 7/10
size - 8/10
price - 8/10
service - 7/10

our go to place for ramen. they have a good variety and specify on the menu the type of meat used in each broth, very helpful for people with dietary restrictions.

last week we visited ramen do after we read the positive reviews on zomato. we ordered two of their most popular ramens plus takoyaki. the miso ramen had a nice but not overpowering broth, while the chicken baitan ramen was pretty average. we would give a rating of 3.5 based on the ramens. what really dragged the rating down were the takoyaki and their follow up service. we were first served with a dish of lukewarm takoyaki. i picked up one and took a bite and it was raw inside, my friend's takoyaki was okay. so we showed both of our half-eaten takoyaki's to the waitress, who politely asked us to put the half-eaten takoyaki back to the plate. what she brought back to us a couple of minutes later really disgusted us: the same dish of takoyaki with two half-eaten ones on each side of the plate. first, i simply couldn't tell which one i had taken a bite; second, properly prepared takoyaki was supposed to be crispy outside and piping hot and soft inside, but since they had already poured sauce and mayonnaise on the top, they would become soggy if put back to the microwave to cook - but the kitchen did it, just to save that 4 takoyaki balls. we couldn't believe they did this and dared to present the same dish to their customers. so after the waitress confirmed that it had been put back to the microwave, i asked to cancel the order, but the waitress was hesitant and said, "you cannot cancel the order" (i believe she thought we cancelled the order just because it had been cooked with microwave, yes we prefer takoyaki's properly cooked on a takoyaki pan, but what we were served the second time was not even edible, let alone the cooking skills that they lack) but she then offered to ask the kitchen and see if the order could be cancelled. strangely enough, without getting back to us to communicate their decision, the other waiter brought an "extra" serve of takoyaki 10 mins later to our neighboring table, then we realized it was for us, and the waiter then said something like "our takoyaki's are cooked with microwave and there is no problem cooking them this way." i had no idea what went wrong with their communication from our table to the kitchen, but we were absolutely appalled by their poor service and concerned about their hygiene knowledge and culinary skills - you never serve your customers with half-eaten takoyaki's! just because they were put back to the microwave and were 100% cooked it doesn't mean they together with the soggy tskoyaki's were okay to be served on the dining table again! i have to say that dish of takoyaki had completely ruined our appetites, and when the noodles were served later, we became dubious of every suspicious ingredient in the broth - such as the blackened sesame oil with charcoal-like "ground black sesame" (black sesame should have a white/lighter color inside) in the white chicken broth. we really hope they held their "professionalism" and had nothing "extra" added to our noodle broths because we refused to have their miserable half-eaten and soggy takoyaki's.
