recently discovered this place and thought i'd go try as i love ramen noodles! we ordered the non spicy hokkaido miso ramen and the paitan salt ramen, they were both not very salty which was good, as almost every other ramen place i've been to have very salty broths and i have to drink tons of water. for the same price as many other ramen places in auckland, this place also has thicker meat slices which isgoodfor those who have big appetites like me :p you can also add in a few extra dollars for pork belly toppings. staff here were very friendly and service was relatively fast (less than 10 mins for the noodles to be ready) would recommend this to anyone who wants hot brothy noodle soup for a quick lunch!

service 5/5
value for money 4.5/5
taste 4/5
portion size (overall and meat) 4.5/5

i am not a ramen eater but i have been here for the sole purpose of eating their teriyaki donburi.

and it was delicious. it was a prettygoodportion meal, and it was very delicious and succulent.

i had both the tofu and the teriyaki as well. it was a prettygoodprice overall. there were condiments available on the table that i can get my hands into easily which i really enjoyed.

i had a taste of their miso ramen soup and it was reallygoodas well. it was dissolved in a semi fatty, slightly thick base but the flavour was very concentrated that i really liked it too.

overall, i am happy with what i paid and my time here and definitely would be back :d

had lunch here recently with a friend . non fuss spot for ramen .i really like it ,large reasonable portions but more noodles to extrasgoodto have on a cold day. you can tell they make their noodles and broth ,felt very much so like food made for a home. i had the pork belly ramen ,a slight smaller portion with plenty pork but could have had more veg . my friend had the miso ramen ,much larger portion and lookedgoodwould recommend this . and had the agadashi tofu served more in a broth than used to but verygoodtoo. great lunch spot for a filling lunch

i came here with my family for lunch on a sunday and we arrived at 12pm, which is when they open. by 12:15pm, it was already packed with people. the service was efficient and friendly too with extremely affordable ramen.

we got the takoyaki to share and it was pretty good, but i'd like to try other sides next time. it is $6 for 6 takoyaki so i'm not too sure if that's agooddeal or not as i don't have japanese often. i got the spicy miso ramen with extra pork belly and bbq pork ($16) and i felt it was a flavourful bowl of ramen and not too fatty. the soup had a nice spice to it, not too spicy so you have to drink a glass of water after eating a mouthful and not too weak so you don't feel any spice. you are given sesame seeds to grind up yourself so you can add a nutty flavour into your ramen, which makes it tastier. the bbq pork was a bit dry for my liking but the pork belly melted in my mouth due to the fattiness. the noodles weren't soft/overcooked either, which definitely makes agoodbowl of ramen. the rest of my family also got the miso ramen but they had the large-sized ramen and my brother had the kaedama extra.

ramen do is definitely an affordable place to grab a delicious bowl of ramen and it's in a convenient location too!

i had the large pork paitan salt ramen with 4 slices of bbq pork. the soup is lightly flavoured and has a light creaminess to it. the flavour of the soup has a light umaminess to it which is not porky at all in my opinion. it is more closer to chicken soup with a background pork flavour to it. it is like with certain dishes, you don't taste a certain spice but it is there which adds to the complexity of the overall flavour. because it was suppose to be a pork base soup, i hoped it would be more porky.

the noodle aregoodas always - thin and chewy/springy but it needs to be eaten as quick as possible as it starts to get slight soggy over time if you let it sit in the soup.

the cha shu is slightly tough and dry but alright. i prefer a melt in your mouth kind of cha shu that has some fattiness to it but not too much and has been slow cooked to make it really soft.

the ramen egg was cooked to perfection; soft egg white with creamy yolk which is commendable because some ramen shops in auckland cook the egg all the way through till it becomes a hard boil egg which is not what i'd want in a bowl of ramen. however the egg lacked the soya sauce seasoning flavour.

i would not eat this again as i prefer a richer pork based soup but i will be back to try their other ramens.

one of the better ramen places in auckland. the hokkaido miso ramen here is very unique and authentic, with a rich, minced-based soup; nicely charred pork belly and well-cooked noodles - in my opinion this is the best miso ramen in auckland. their donburis are also verygoodfor a quick lunch. all dishes are reasonably priced and portion sizes are generous, would definitely recommend this place for lunch.

overall:
ambience 3.5/5
service 4/5
quality 4/5
portion size 5/5
presentation 4/5
value 4.5/5

solid ramen for agoodprice.

i moved into the neighbourhood and ultimately i got excited about this place however i was very disappointed. due to the amount of positive reviews and metro awards, my expectations were set high and after my first bowl of ramen i was feeling low.

the place, the people and the food all seem so authentic i thought maybe they were having an off night so i’ve been countless times again in hopes it will improve and i’ll get this 5 star, metro top 50 ramen but sadly this has yet to happen.

it’sgoodfor a quick meal and it’s relatively cheap but when i’m really craving agooddeep flavourful rich ramen soup, this is not it. the soup is thick but lacks the flavour you expect from a thick creamy soup.
i’ll continue to dine here when i just want an easy meal or feeling like something warm but personally, i don’t get it.

this shop used to begoodbut today i had the worst ramen experience ever. the bbq pork was over cooked and burned but still serve in my bowl of noodle. you can clearly to see the burned dark dots and the burning smell infused into the soup. also the soup was extreme salty, bitter taste. i wonder if they still want to keep the business or not.

we stopped in for lunch today and it was such a cute little place, and cheap too.
the food was reallygoodand filling - so definitely value for money. the portion sizes are quite large, i don't think most people were able to finish their meals, but in agoodway!
i had the tofu donburi which was yum! so here's a cute little photo of my meal too

we came here after seeing all thegoodreviews..... only to be let down. all the reviews saying that it’s so “authentic”, it’s not authentic at all really...
the table we were seated on was wobbly. atmosphere is ok, but dark.
ramen portion is big, tastes watered down. besides the smoky flavor, there’s not much else i taste.
the mukashi ramen i ordered smelled weird, i know is from the bamboo shoot, but i have eaten bamboo shoot my entire life and i have never tasted one as weird as this.
not to be negative. i have never tasted ramen that tastes like this. not authentic and tasteless. what a let down.
