go for the meat, not much else. i've been here a few times and the brisket is delicious--if you like texas style bbq. those new to texas need to understand that bbq is not the stuff you find in tennessee, the carolinas, or most any place else. the emphasis is on a thin brothy sauce.

as far as texas bbq goes this is a landmark, and definitelywortha visit for the meats. personally, and i know this is blasphemy, texas-style bbq is my least favorite style. still, this is good and i would go there again.

they do seem to pay most attention to the bbq and the sides are average. good, but nothing to rave about.

the long-standing tradition is to serve bbq with plain white bread--a substance i personally despise. the bbq is better off without it, but i'm likely quite alone in this assessment.

bottom line: if you are in ft.worthand want good texas bbq at a great price, this is your place.

making the lone star proud. if you live in, travel to, pass through or fly over fly over fortworthand don’t stop at railhead you may as well have never lived. this is a staple of the great city and represents the qualities of what is near a dear. the service and atmosphere are fantastic. this is a place that you can bring the whole family and enjoy your time and just relax over a great meal. the quality of the brisket, links and chicken is top notch. the portions are what you would expect from a texas style smokehouse and the beer… well let’s just say that it’s the coldest thing next to what the titanic encountered. this place can get packed out but it isworththe wait. two notes: they offer veterans a discount (personally i say thank you) and they are closed on sunday (for some reason i always want railhead on sunday, blah!).

best brisket. i thought the brisket was the best i have ever tasted. moist, just the right amount of fat. nicely seasoned. ribs were good but not the bets. as anotehr reveiwer stated it is hard to be thoroughly consistent with smoking and bbq. best ribs i had in fortworthwere at angelo's but the brisket was terrible there. ribs were meaty and mosit and falling off the bone. excellent. brisket. eh. didnt get a chance to make it to cousins or riscky's which i hear are good too.

recent visit. had given up on this old ft.worthfavorite until friends recently invited us out for an evening of fun. railhead was back up to its great standards of putting out some of the better bar-b-que in the area. the pork ribs and turkey are still my favoite!

solid ribs. i've eaten at railhead once and had the rib dinner. their ribs aren't the best i've ever had (that honor goes to smitty's in lockhart), but they are easily the best i have had in fort worth. extremely tender, meaty, and smoky. they really do fall off the bone, which you have to exercise caution with as they can create a mess!

still, good food. i think the rib dinner was about $11 and it wasworthevery bit. oh, and the best part; $2.50 beer schooners all day every day! i'll definitely be coming back in the future.
