how did thisplaceget so famous?. i am amazed that aplacethat serves mediocre food by indifferent servers in a building that smells like someone used pine sol to cover up a heavy urine smell is so famous.

thisplaceripped me off. when there in july from out of town and wanted to buy a railhead t-shirt. they where out of the size and color i wanted. the ladies that help me and looked for my size and color and they didn't have it no problem i was told just write down your name and address with my phone number and they would mail me my shirt at no extra cost if i paid for it. great deal right! i never got my shirt and after two months i called them and they said they stilled had my info and my shirt is coming. called them again with no luck this time. well its been four months and no shirt. be careful with these people there shady.

go for the meat, not much else. i've been here a few times and the brisket is delicious--if you like texas style bbq. those new to texas need to understand that bbq is not the stuff you find in tennessee, the carolinas, or most anyplaceelse. the emphasis is on a thin brothy sauce.

as far as texas bbq goes this is a landmark, and definitely worth a visit for the meats. personally, and i know this is blasphemy, texas-style bbq is my least favorite style. still, this is good and i would go there again.

they do seem to pay most attention to the bbq and the sides are average. good, but nothing to rave about.

the long-standing tradition is to serve bbq with plain white bread--a substance i personally despise. the bbq is better off without it, but i'm likely quite alone in this assessment.

bottom line: if you are in ft. worth and want good texas bbq at a great price, this is your place.

making the lone star proud. if you live in, travel to, pass through or fly over fly over fort worth and don’t stop at railhead you may as well have never lived. this is a staple of the great city and represents the qualities of what is near a dear. the service and atmosphere are fantastic. this is aplacethat you can bring the whole family and enjoy your time and just relax over a great meal. the quality of the brisket, links and chicken is top notch. the portions are what you would expect from a texas style smokehouse and the beer… well let’s just say that it’s the coldest thing next to what the titanic encountered. thisplacecan get packed out but it is worth the wait. two notes: they offer veterans a discount (personally i say thank you) and they are closed on sunday (for some reason i always want railhead on sunday, blah!).

pork ribs. this was theplaceto go many years ago after angelo's family ruined theirplaceby trying to pass off jerky as ribs.

now thisplaceis playing the same game. quality is extremely inconsistent. you might get one juicy rib in a pound basket of charcoal jerky.
fries are horribly greasy.

for the salt lover.... today, with my daughter and her kids visiting, we elected to take out some bbq from railhead, "the" bbqplacein fort worth. we had a bbq sandwich and a pound of ribs. the sandwich was kinda o.k. but the ribs were unbelieavably salty. i ate two of them… the rest went to our dogs. what a disappointment. if you don't like salt, and lots of it, don't go to railhead

a copy cat!. thisplaceis just a copy of angelo's with a bit of texas fast food thrown in......and remember how "they" got the stuff to copy angelo's! i think the folks that go to railhead are not tough texans...just wannab's.

disappointing. look, i know that bbq is maybe the most difficult cuisine to do well with consistency. but after my friend's recommendation and after reading all the articles on the walls as i waited in line i was really hoping theplacewould live up to the hype. it didn't. dry, roast beefy brisket i had to soak with sauce to get down my throat and smokeless ribs that tasted like they'd been cooked in an oven. i wanted to love it, but i couldn't. neat atmosphere, though.

ok but not the best. it's close to home and cheaper than most so i go there, but there are other places with better barbecue in fort worth. out-of-towners like it because it's a goodplaceto drink along with eating. probably because of the drinking and the visitors, it has a happy feel, but i would consider it aplaceto take tourists rather than aplaceto eat serious meat. the best meat is the ribs; the worst is the chicken and the brisket rests in the middle.
