when i feel a little sluggish after that infamous ‘one for the road’ g&t or when howling wind splashes cold rain against my window seal on a dark wintry day, i look to a cure for all ills.

pho tau bay has become one of my regular spots for pho with good reason! as the name of the place suggest they serve pho and pretty much only pho! the broth here is rich, clear and bursting with flavor! the service is super quick, once you’re seated and ordered, your food will be out in no time. this place is consistently great and has never let me down.

this place has a reputation as sydney's best pho restaurant, but i have only been here a few times as i'm not sure i agree. their pho is quickly served nice and hot in big servings but the taste of the broth is a little different to what i am accustomed to and doesn't really live up to the hype for me.

if someone told me that pho tau bay serves the best pho in sydney, i would not blink an eye (i haven't tried pho an yet). the enormous portion of pho bo with springy rice noodles topped with succulent beef slices, onion curls, bean sprouts and lemon was meticulously prepared.

what makes the pho bo stand out is the intensity of the broth free of oil and my enemy (msg). hence, it is tempting for me to finish the whole bowl of pho (including the soup) in a cold, autumn night.

pho tau bay also serve other noodle soups aside from pho but there’s really nothing better than a bowl the size of your head full of both cooked and thinly sliced rare beef. my favourite part are the slippery rice noodles that you slurp with the broth of carefully simmered beef bones, their pho taste

i am sure all of you have occasional cravings for certain types of food (and you don't have to be pregnant to experience this!). this can beset you at any point in time. well, lately i have been craving all things vietnamese and i don't even know why! my good friend cw and i have been planning to do a cabramatta crawl since february of this year. yes! you read right, february! :-) we finally managed to make it work. no heat wave, no prearranged social engagement and most importantly no track work planned that weekend. yay! i was looking forward to satisfying my cravings! the plan was to eat through our hit list but share the meals so we didn't fill up too quickly. we started by having breakfast and pho was our choice. pho tau bay has reputedly the best pho in town. i don't recall having been here before and it was quite a tiny little restaurant. we got there before 10 am and was lucky enough not to have to wait for a table. as we sat down, a man came up to take our order but we were no

this is one of my favourite pho restaurants. it's a family business which we've been going for at least 20 years. the quality of their pho has not dropped and continued to be served hot and fresh. good thing is that there's no msg as well. would definitely recommend it to all my friends

not bad pho but not up to the reputation and prices. the soup was very light but still tasty. the beef wasn't the best, quite chewy. the prices have shot up to $15/$16 although that's for a "medium" bowl that was quite large (the "large", which isn't even shown on the menu, would be unfeasibly large for most people, so it seems like a dodgy upsell that they even mentioned it).

one of the best pho in cabra, affordable price, quick and friendly service too. be ready for long queue if you visit them on weekend lunch. i had combination pho and hubby had pork chop rice. my pho was really good, thick and flavoursome broth, generous beef and very tender. but unfortunately i had to put aside the tripe cause i don’t like it. hubby’s pork chop was good except the rice, he said it’s too dry.

for authentic and home made style pho. head to this restaurant immediately. nice and cozy place. perfect portion, flavour is amazing, most pho places dont give you the tripe or cartilage but this place does! if you don't like it though, you can always ask for without.

pho dac biet : 😊 good

so apparently pho tau bay is supposed to serve up the best pho in sydney. it’s good pho, that i can say. but if i had to be brutally honest, i’ve had better. with pho everything rests in the flavour of the broth and i myself am a pho addict. i don’t want to disagree with others but i truly believe that, yes their pho is good, but i’ve had better. otherwise well worth the visit as there are lines that extend out of the restaurant so they must be doing something right.

my family has been coming here since i could remember. this is one of the oldest original pho eateries in cabramatta and i’d boldy dare say, it’s the best. broth is the real deal. rich and deep without being salty or oily. the flavour is like no other pho place. has a slightly more umami taste.
don’t ever change the recipe.
