pho taubayhas become one of my regular spots for pho with good reason! as the name of the place suggest they serve pho and pretty much only pho! the broth here is rich, clear and bursting with flavor! the service is super quick, once you’re seated and ordered, your food will be out in no time. this place is consistently great and has never let me down.

if someone told me that pho taubayserves the best pho in sydney, i would not blink an eye (i haven't tried pho an yet). the enormous portion of pho bo with springy rice noodles topped with succulent beef slices, onion curls, bean sprouts and lemon was meticulously prepared.

what makes the pho bo stand out is the intensity of the broth free of oil and my enemy (msg). hence, it is tempting for me to finish the whole bowl of pho (including the soup) in a cold, autumn night.

pho taubayalso serve other noodle soups aside from pho but there’s really nothing better than a bowl the size of your head full of both cooked and thinly sliced rare beef. my favourite part are the slippery rice noodles that you slurp with the broth of carefully simmered beef bones, their pho taste

i am sure all of you have occasional cravings for certain types of food (and you don't have to be pregnant to experience this!). this can beset you at any point in time. well, lately i have been craving all things vietnamese and i don't even know why! my good friend cw and i have been planning to do a cabramatta crawl since february of this year. yes! you read right, february! :-) we finally managed to make it work. no heat wave, no prearranged social engagement and most importantly no track work planned that weekend. yay! i was looking forward to satisfying my cravings! the plan was to eat through our hit list but share the meals so we didn't fill up too quickly. we started by having breakfast and pho was our choice. pho taubayhas reputedly the best pho in town. i don't recall having been here before and it was quite a tiny little restaurant. we got there before 10 am and was lucky enough not to have to wait for a table. as we sat down, a man came up to take our order but we were no

pho dac biet : 😊 good

so apparently pho taubayis supposed to serve up the best pho in sydney. it’s good pho, that i can say. but if i had to be brutally honest, i’ve had better. with pho everything rests in the flavour of the broth and i myself am a pho addict. i don’t want to disagree with others but i truly believe that, yes their pho is good, but i’ve had better. otherwise well worth the visit as there are lines that extend out of the restaurant so they must be doing something right.

i had a bowl of pho here a few years back and my thoughts were that it was so chinese. it did not resemble any of the authentic vietnamese pho. i am a pho fan and have been searching for that perfect bowl of pho. i tried pho taubayagain yesterday and my feelings were the same. if you seeks traditional pho then pho taubayis not the right bowl for you. if you just need a good bowl of beef pho and don’t care if its authentic or not then yes it will be good enough.

pho taubayback in days had the reputation of "best pho in cabramatta". decided to come back to check it out to see if it was still the best.
upon entering i noticed they have again renovated with modern decor, with air conditioning and large television. the place looked clean!
the great thing about pho taubayis that they also give you ice tea without you even asking.
we ordered tonight pho tai and pho dac biet. let's just say both were delish! and i can safely say they still serve the best pho in cabramatta!

so you’re looking for a destination for an intimate first date? how about the perfect diner to pop the question? or an escape for that date night without the kids? sorry to have to disappoint you, but pho taubayisn’t exactly the venue for those occasions. pho taubayis where you come for some of the best pho, not just in sydney or even australia, i am thinking this could be some of the best pho outside of vietnam. this little restaurant in cabramatta is all about that conveyor belt of soups and rice dishes. food is served fast, there’s very little pomp or sense of occasion. it’s noisy, but in a celebratory kind of way, but then the whole cabramatta dining precinct is that way, especially on saturday morning. it’s a full on assault on the senses, and that’s the reason we love coming to the area.

this place serves one of the best pho here in sydney.. the soup had a clear broth and yet so flavourful with a perfect balance of sweet, salty and aromatic spices.. the rice noodles were perfectly cooked and silky smooth, the beef slices were tender and i personally love their meatball! it's so tender and so meaty flavourful..
pho taubayalso serves blanched beansprouts instead of the usual fresh one to go with your pho..

phở tāubayis the venerable pho restaurant in cabramatta. its tagline is (wait for it….) best pho sure. nice. you can also get other dishes at phở tāu bay, such as seafood phở (?), other noodles (tapioca, vermicelli) and rice dishes. there is always a queue (and a lineup of prams) outside at this small restaurant, but you won’t have to wait long.

i went for my usual rare beef and tripe phở ($11) and bl had the special (which is what i would call combination, but they term that differently here). the soup was excellent, well-spiced and flavoursome. the noodles were just right, the tripe was perfectly tender (a serious feat to do well), though the rare beef was a bit chewy.

the cà phê sữa đá was good as well, though could be stronger.

this is my absolute favourite place for pho in sydney, and never disappoints.

pho taubayis arguably one of the best places in cabramatta for pho - delicious stock is what makes it pretty much perfect and they do the stock here really well. very fragrant and tasty.

pho taubayhas a aromatic sense which entice you taste buds, their stock is elegant and sweeter than others but in a good and unique way.

so after some searching on urbanspoon,  pho taubay came out on top. we ordered the combination beef pho, which comes with rare beef, tripe and beef balls. not gonna lie, but i was expecting more considering it had such rave reviews. the taste of the broth was quite subtle and there wasn’t as strong of a beef bone flavour as i would have liked. my favourite pho is still the one in lidcombe,  vincent’s noodl

good pho!. with the reputation of being one of the best places for pho in western sydney, i just had to try it out. hearing all my friends talking about it all the time really gave me high expectations and fair enough, my expectations were met.

the pho broth here at pho taubaywas rich and tasty. the noodles and meat were nicely cooked. portion sizes could have been better. service definitely needs some improvement as i felt intimidated by the staff throughout the entire time i was there. our waiter, who i assumed was the owner, never smiled once or said anything other than "what would you like to eat?" i was met with a disgruntled sigh when i asked for a menu...i guess they're just used to people ordering their signature dish the second they walk through the door. cutlery and bowls also need attention! it's never nice picking up wet cutlery.

like most vietnamese kids, i will tell you that mum's pho is always the best pho. pho taubaytakes out second place for me.

did i go to the same place? some of the worst pho i had. i can't believe there are such rave reviews... i was down in sydney and heard about cabramatta as the vietnamese suburb, so though i'd go and see how good the pho there was... checked urbanspoon quickly and pho taubaypopped up as number one, so i went there with high expectations... i must add that i'm from vietnamese background and that my mum's pho is one of the best in the world as when she was younger, used to work in a famous pho restaurant back in vietnam...
ordered the pho dac biet (special)... and asked a simple question, which for me defines if the place is authentic or not: do you have ngo gai (culandro herb)... and the answer was no... that was a bad start...
then the pho... already i could see the lack of "generosity", not so much in the quantities... but there was only one type of herb in the plate and some soy sprouts...
i then i tried the pho itself... yuck.... first thing... the noodles where way overcooked and mushy... how hard can it be to make sure the noddle are cooked "al dente" when your special meal is pho... and everyone know bad noodles, kill a pho!
but hold on... that was not the worst.... the worst was that the broth was totally bland and tasteless... just dish washing water! meat was a bit on the "too greasy" side...
overall, that's one of the worst pho i had in australia... and i must say the quality of the phos downunder is pretty low, so, that's quite a statement...
even most of the pho i had in food courts in brisbane were so much better than this "pho for tourist" place!!!
i recommend the one in the queen street mall in brissy... it is a small one, but at least the noodles are firm and the broth tasty... and if you ask, they even give you ngo gai, which is one of the only place that does it!
i rarely write reviews... but this one was so bad and such a disappointment, i had to write something.... do real vietnamese really go and eat pho in that place??? wow... vietnamese standards have reached bottom then!
hopefully, it was just a very bad day for them... but i doubt it... and will definitely never ever go back there...
ha ha, the reality is so far from the review i read here, it almost looks like these reviews are from friends of the owner.....................
