this is agreatplace on campus corner in norman. the food is fresh and the portions are ample. the food is not tex-mex (so if you are a fan, you may be disappointed) and they use cilantro in their dishes a little more than most places.

i ordered the loco burrito with pork. it was about the size of a small football. it was stuffed with pork, rice, beans and cilantro. my wife ordered tacos, one pork and one beef. we also had the chips and salsa. chips were fresh and crispy and you get a sample of four different types of salsa.

you may pay a little more than a fast food mexican restaurant, but you will get your moneys worth.

tried this spot after seeing thegreatreviews. not impressed!!! there are too manygreatmexican food places to waste your time here. nachos were soggy and disappointing. margaritas were medicore. food was overpriced for what we received. won't be back.

excellent mole!. first timers, noticed it has moved into the old liberty d's ... took us a minute to realize all orders are placed at the counter and seating is open. i had the enchiladas oaxacan (chicken enchiladas with mole sauce). husband had ? can't remember the name - sliced chicken in red sauce, very smokey & spicy. we ordered chips & salsa hot -- got 3 options of salsa, added guac. we love this place. friendly, helpful staff andgreatquality. can tell the sauces are slow cooked and delicious. we will make the travel from okc often for pepe delgados (except on game weekends)!

best.mex.ever.. looking for an escape from generic tex-mex glop? look no further.

you will not be assaulted by chili powder or reconstituted queso here! only the freshest ingredients are used and the difference is quite noticeable. i have been eating there regularly for nearly twenty years and the quality of the food has remained consistently high.

i've tried many things on this menu, but my longtime favorite is the chili relleno offered on thursdays as a special. the plate consists of a battered and fried poblano pepper stuffed with cheese and topped with a mild tomato sauce. also included are very tasty black beans and rice, along with the freshest, best tasting pico degallo you will ever have. i usually mix the pico with the beans and rice and roll some up in a corn tortilla with a ribbon of habanero sauce. the mix is greater than the sum of it's parts and leaves such a wonderful aftertaste that you just want more! the relleno is also a fantastic combination of flavors. in my opinion this is the best plate in norman, vegetarian or otherwise.

another favorite is the enchiladas verde. your choice of fillings wrapped in corn tortillas and covered in a delicious green mole. all the fillings offered are very good, but the marinated pork is by far my favorite. i get the pork in whatever item that has it as a choice. muy deliciouso!

since pepe's fare is authentic mexican rather than common texican, it can present a challenge to those who might expect something more like taco hell and the many other places that rely on chili powder to define their 'cuisine'. but for those who can appreciategreatfood prepared with ultra fresh ingredients, pepe's may just convert you into one of it's vast group of regular customers.

too long;didn't read?: take shabby mama's review and turn everything opposite of what she said. most out of touch review i have ever read!

great local tex mex / mex. this is the best mexican on the corner (to which there is heavy competition...5 mexican restaurants within a stone's throw of one another) the portions are huge while the prices are good.

i absolutely love the horchata (sp?), which is rice milk with cinnamon. it's great. give it a try. i love the fresh salsas with their chips. my favorite thing to do is to check out their specials board. everyday of the week is a different special that's only offered that day. you know those types of dishes are great.

if the owner is there, ask him what to try. he won't steer you wrong and tells you what looks the best that day. (what people don't realize about restaurants is that if everything is cooked everyday, some items look better than others any given day)

my favorite time to go there is late lunch (when it's slower) during world cup. the tv's are on the games and it's agreatplace to watch the games.

come hungry though. you won't leave that way.
