this is a great place on campus corner in norman. the food is fresh and the portions are ample. the food is not tex-mex (so if you are a fan, you may be disappointed) and they use cilantro in their dishes a little more than most places.

i ordered the loco burrito with pork. it was about the size of a small football. it was stuffed with pork, rice, beans and cilantro. my wife ordered tacos, one pork and one beef. we also had thechipsand salsa.chipswere fresh and crispy and you get a sample of four different types of salsa.

you may pay a little more than a fast food mexican restaurant, but you will get your moneys worth.

i'd say that people that are disappointed in this place most likely didn't read the menu. no, it is not tex-mex. fuzzy's is right up the street if that's what you want.chipsand salsa are separate, that's just the way it is. but they're only $2.75 and you get an assortment of salsas, so... also, i haven't had a bad meal here. there is sometimes a language barrier but that's the way it is. if you want tex-mex, stay out.

not impressed at all. most mexican restaurants providechipsand salsa with your meal. not here. you have to pay for them separately. i ordered beef tacos. they came not as ground beef, but fajita meat. no lettuce, cheese or tomatoes. didn't eat much of it. came home and ate a sandwich.

great food; seat yourself atmosphere and mostly self service as well. food prices are very reasonable.chipsand salsa have to be ordered, but they are very tasty and come with several fresh salsas to choose from. other dishes tasted fresh as well, not overly greasy as is commonly the case in tex-mex restaurants.

this resteraunt is the worst mexican resteraunt i've been. nothing served before meal, likechipsor salsa, and even you order a fajita you don't get flour tortillas. flour tortillas are the cheapest thing!!! the beef is incredibly dry and old, my jaw hurts after i had three piece!!! the beef is like it has been in the fridge over a week, nothing is more difficult to chew than this, literally. do not come here!!! and i bet the good reviews are from their own employees.

nom!. pepe's is by far my favorite place to get good mexican food in the okc area. the food is always delicious and worth the price. i have been too many times to count in the last 8+ years, and tried the majority of the menu.

the only downside it thatchipsand salsa are not included with your meal. my husband and i love the food so much that this doesn't really deter us, even though we arechipsand salsa fiends. the food is worth missing out on that, and sometimes we order thechipsand salsa with the spicy set of salsas anyway.

overall you can't go wrong by going to pepe delgados. try the enchiladas verde with chicken, or anything on the menu. it is all delicious!

fresh!. i've enjoyed eating at pepe's with it's relaxed atmosphere for over 20 years now and while some things about the restaurant have changed (it's in the old liberty d's location instead of across the alley from sugar's thank you very much), emilio's philosophy about pepe's, food and service has not. (several years ago he told me, "it's not gourmet, it's good quality food, served fast."). i believe the chief cook has been there since the very beginning, the food is not smothered with cheese, thechipsand salsa aren't free and the ingredients put into the food have flavor that tastes fresh, not greasy. my personal fave is the beef quesadilla, closely followed by the beef corn mula. i love the fresh tomatilla sauce and cilantro. my son, whose choice is primarily influenced by quantity, goes for the super nachos but the girls like the burritos or ecnhiladas. the boss usually tries one of the daily specials or the spicy tortilla soup with avocado slices (it's sensational on a cold day).

jeff, the bartender, has been at pepe's for several years and is as good as there is, in norman. several tvs make for easy watching of a game as long as it's not a home game day.

i've eaten at just about every restaurant, that's been open for more than a couple of years, in norman and pepe's is always clean, always fresh, and the most consistently good food at a very affordable price i have found.

excellent mole!. first timers, noticed it has moved into the old liberty d's ... took us a minute to realize all orders are placed at the counter and seating is open. i had the enchiladas oaxacan (chicken enchiladas with mole sauce). husband had ? can't remember the name - sliced chicken in red sauce, very smokey & spicy. we orderedchips& salsa hot -- got 3 options of salsa, added guac. we love this place. friendly, helpful staff and great quality. can tell the sauces are slow cooked and delicious. we will make the travel from okc often for pepe delgados (except on game weekends)!

best habanero sauce. i always, always go for an order of theirchipsand salsa. i requested the sauces to be all habaneros....i can't get enough of it. the heat and spice is so delicious. i also get a side of fried jalapenos....yum! i have also tried their veggie platter. good portions and good stuff. more authentic than a lot of the "mexican" restaurants in the area i've tried. co-worker friend who hates mexican food tried their tortilla soup and loved it. always crowded, but i've never been in a situation where there is no seating left so far. but the best thing is hands down the habanero sauce. my co-worker friends even order an extra side of it!

love it!. i'm not sure where some of these other reviewers ate, or what they would consider freshly prepared good food. this place has it. the reviewer stating the "mystery meat" and mushy tortillas, andchipsout of a bag.... just sneak around the corner and peek in the kitchen. you will see fresh meat being prepared, tomatillos being prepped, and many other signs of real food. these guys prepare it all from scratch, and put out a super fresh, high quality product. maybe some people just aren't ready for real food, and can't recognize meat that isn't processed, frozen, or otherwise mishandled. fine with me, this place gets crowded enough! more for me! see your every friday night for the best mexican food in town!

weird set up and awful food!!. it was terrible!!! we didn't even eat thechips((tasted likechipsout of a bag)) and salsa. which friends raved about was mediocre at best. our entrees were horrible!! mushy tortillas and the meat looked like mystery meat. i love mexican from fresh to tex mex to authentic and this fits in none of those catergories!
the staff was so busy socializing with each other and friends that it was just not a pleasant environment either.
