pretty neutral on this place. can't say i dislike patty wagon, but it definitely wasn't a 'great' first experience.

a group of 5 of us decided to give this place a try based on all the positive reviews this past friday at lunch.

its an old what-a-burger, but its decorated nicely and the staff is really friendly.

we got there just after noon and there was only 3 or 4 other tables with people at them.

can' remember the name of the signature burger combo i ordered (tried to look it up on their website, but with all their effort to make it look graphically cool, they don't even provide you with the menu online).

the burgers were all made fast and looked pretty decent to good - they had that smashed on a grill look as opposed to the more open, you can see all the fresh ingredients look i prefer. the fries came in a good size tub and looked great. the drinks are self-serve and they have the sonic type ice - big plus!

unfortunately, while the meat and ingredients on the burger were pretty good, the bottom bun was hard as a rock. not crunchy hard from being on the grill too long, but rubbery, dehydrated, hard that is totally unappealing. same went for another friend's burger. a third's bun was fine, but it was much larger than the tiny meat patty he was served - so all three of us removed half of the buns.

the taste was good and if i'd gotten it out of an actual food truck i probably would have liked it more.

personally, other than the bun (which is a big issue) i liked the burger well enough. enough to drive across town again - no. but i also won't rate this place as a "i don't like" until (if) i find the time to try it again.

personally, tuckers, nic's, s&b's and irma's all have a better burger and atmosphere for the buck.

very enjoyable. we went to patty wagon today based on the reviews here. it was definitely very good. and the proprietors must be the most ultimate "service providers" in any industry in the world! eager, gracious, kind, attentive. if only all servers were so terrific!

i ordered a double and my wife ordered a single. either burger could have made two meals! the size of the patties are simply huge. and yes they are perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned! this is a much better hamburger patty than either tucker's or s&b burger joint.

i ordered "carmelized onions" and i felt a little cheated. they were perfectly cooked and delicious but they did not "smother" my burger as another reviewer here experienced. the buns are a sweet sourdough - as another reviewer said, a little like hawaiian bread. they also have a wheat bun which we found out about after our order arrived. i'm sure i would liked it even better than the white.

their soda machine is definitely fixed! not only was there plenty of carbonation, they've upped the syrup mix so the fountain drinks were full-flavored (not like the watery drinks at the convenience stores).

they also take credit cards now, btw.

but the real reason to go?? the lime freeze. oh my, i've never had an ice cream treat like this ever!! buy one! not too citrus, not too sweet, just right !!

we will certainly be back.

new favorite burger. had a great burger today! the patty wagon is close to my house and i just realized it was open. i had the big john burger and it was delicious. i don't eat hamburgers very often so when i do, i want it to be amazing. the bun is the best part....really soft and a little sweet. my husband and i shared the fries and a shake. i will go back just for those. the fries taste really fresh. i try to eat as local as possible and this place is family owned and buys local as much as possible. that's a plus for me. i'll be back.

hooked on fries. it's a given that the burgers rock, but let's just talk about the patty wagon's fries. i'm a french fry snob--really. but these babies are addictive. i'm gonna' go out on a limb and say these are the best french fries i've ever had. i'll be back again and again for the out-of-this world fries. patty wagon, my taste buds thank you...my waist line? not so much.

patty wagon was amazing. the burgers at patty wagon grill are fresh, melt in your mouth delicious. i had the shroom burger, the mushrooms were fresh grilled, the bun is amazing and the meat seasoned perfectly with very juicy. the french fries are fresh cut and cooked. loved it all. can't wait to go again, want to try a turkey sandwich and some of the other speciality burgers, especially looking forward to having a blue cheese burger, yum. must try it!

awesome burger and fries in okc!. i'm not much of a beef eater, except for hamburgers ~ i know odd, but true! i've eaten there every time i've been near it (live far south) and they have been delicious every time! i'm addicted to pw sauce 2 and while i almost never eat fries - i eat every scrumptious one! i'm not a soda drinker, but their tea is always fresh brewed and good! i'll go out of my way to get there anytime i'm past i-40 in okc!

originally in a food trailer, patty wagon now operates in a storefront location, allowing you access to their tasty burgers and fries in air conditioned comfort.

i'm not going to be able to say anything different than the previous reviews. the burger was good,,, but not as good as iramas or flat tire. the soda as previously reported is flat. didn't think it would be so expensive. $23 for two combo single patty meals. i'll be back but not often.

freakin' incredible burgers!. we've been meaning to stop for weeks now, and tonight provided the perfect opportunity. (and now i'm sooooo glad it did!)

this is what a burger should taste like, folks -- juicy, flavorful, perfectly cooked and topped with (yes!) fried onions galore.

the hand-cut fries were perfectly seasoned, and the produce (e.g., lettuce, tomatoes and pickles) used was top quality.

my only beef? (pardon the execrable pun here.) my soda was flat. fix your co2, boys and girls.

the extremely friendly owner came out and chatted us up, and we pegged him instantly for a fellow foodie who truly cares about what he eats and serves.

simple, no frills menu -- don't go expecting fancy schmancy, people. this is good, honest, simple food at its american best.

awesome burgers. the patty was seasoned well. the bun and sauces were great too. i'm a huge burger fan, so not surprising, but all that went with us were blown away too. definitely going back.

tasty!. i had been curious about this little wagon parked in my neighborhood and decided to give it a try one night this week when i was too worn out to cook. we ordered three burgers, fries and a piece of "grandma's secret recipe chocolate cake". it was a hit. my husband, who is a picky eater, ate two burgers (and they aren't small) and half the order of fries. next time we'll get two orders instead of splitting one because they were so tasty. thick cut, fried well, just enough seasoning. i ordered my burger with everything (red onion, lettuce, tomato) but skipped the cheese or friend onions. the beef is good; nice and smooth, not too fatty but juicy enough for flavor. the buns are a bit sweet, kind of similar to hawaiian bread, but not quite that sweet. good, hearty produce, too. the next night i asked my husband what he wanted for dinner and he said "pattywagon". i didn't want to ruin a good thing with overconsumption, so we passed, but we'll be back again regularly - maybe even before the week is over. they are cash only, so hit the atm on your way there. currently they are only open 11 am - 2 pm for lunch and 6 pm - 9 pm for dinner. i hope they stick around! i am a fan of irma's and have eaten regularly at johnnies, but i like pattywagon better.

givin patty wagon some love. my husband and i love to try new places. so we recently tried the new food truck the patty wagon in okc. patty wagon is fresh and delicious. local, grass-fed beef, and the bun! the bun! the fries were hot and well seasoned; the meat itself is nice and fresh, and very tasty. there were options for my two year old (a grilled cheese with cheddar on whole wheat!), and we loved sitting outside underneath their umbrellas. even in this heat, you gotta get out, right?

a previous review says something about the burger being undercooked and "rare", and i would just like to say to that: our burgers were perfectly cooked, and i'm sorry they had a bad experience. also, i wonder if they've ever had an actual "rare" burger? it would be pretty difficult for the cooks at patty wagon (or any cook for that matter) to miss something like that, and they told me they cook all burgers well done...sounds like there may be a little exaggeration in that review. i would check it out for myself if i were you!

love patty wagon!. took the family wednesday night. friendly staff, short on menu items, but the burger and fries were the best i've ever had. the meat has a great flavor -- love that it is grass fed. the bun is slightly sweet and delicious. the burger was juicy and i needed the nice napkins provided. fries were real potatoes! crispy and well-seasoned. there were enough for my friend and i to share. can't wait for my next patty wagon burger!
