very pleased. we were visiting okc, found the pattywagononline, and decided to try it out. we loved it! my husband got the red dirt and i got a single burger. we were very pleased with them. the service was fast and the owner (i think) was extremely friendly. he brought us out sauces to try and free samples of the yum yum cake (delicious by the way.) if we are ever in okc again we will definitely come again!

quit smoking cigarettes a few years back, but i still have a cheeseburger every thursday.  i like to mix it up, especially now that there are so many burger joints in town.  seems like there's more burger stops than churches these days.

so pattywagonis an old favorite— been eating their sandwiches since they were at the old trailer by the hibdon tire.  thewagonmakes a mean burger, but what really sets them apart is their amazing buns.  imagine a toasted bun made out of hawaiian bread, yellow cake, and butter.  okay, now imagine a juicy patty covered with cheese, fried onions, bacon, and a fried egg.

flavor explosion.

french fries are also top-notch— freshly cut, a lot like johnnie's fries when they used to be consistent.  another cool thing about this joint is the long list of condiments and add-ons.  hell, they even make their own special mayos! i like the spicy.

real friendly folks working here as well.  thanks for lunch, pw!

two of my co-workers brought up pattywagonin a recent lunchtime discussion about the best burger places in okc.  i had to try it.  everything is about what i expected from talking to my co-workers and reading reviews.  it is in an old whataburger building.  they use rather thick, mildly sweet hamburger buns.  the french fries are just okay - not much potato flavor - and they are served generously.

you can make your own burger, or you can go with one of their recipes.  their recipes don't deviate much from the standard recipes, e.g. mushrooms + onions + swiss, blue cheese + bacon, jalapenos + pepper jack cheese.   however, it is worth noting that there are not one, but two burgers on the menu that are spicy: the taser and the big john.  my co-worker got the big john but got the grilled jalapenos on the side because they use fresh jalapenos and he wants to be able to control the heat.  personally, i got the jailhouse blues burger with bacon and blue cheese.  i like my bacon crispy, and that's what i found on my burger.  there was enough blue cheese to make it tasty.

my only disappointment is that i was expecting a greasy burger, comparable to nic's grill or tucker's or s & b's.  instead, i got a rather lean patty.  i had the same experience when i went to irma's burger shack.  i guess grass fed beef = lean beef.

nice job patty wagon. had lunch at the pattywagonyesterday. bacon cheeseburger was fantastic, great beef, fantastic bun, and fresh quality toppings. hand cut fries are the best in town. i'll be back soon for more of what they are cooking. well done!

i tried to find their website to let them know but it had lapsed. my wife and i drove across town last night to try pattywagonfor the first time.

everyone was friendly. the inside was nicer than the outside.

it took awhile to get our food even though they were not very busy.

when we received our burgers we noticed the meat was burned and my wife's burger was so burn on one side she could not eat it but the fries were great.

i kept looking around to let someone know but they never came around again.

probably will keep looking for a good burger place.

we have tried urma's downtown and it is great just too far to go unless we are in the area. we live south at sw 119th.

we tried pattywagon14 december. we don’t often find ourselves south of 39th on may, unless i’m hitting the lowe’s there :), and on this particular saturday we had been in the shepherd mall area, so we gave it a try. those were some darn fine burgers. the meat had great flavor, and a nice crust on the outside, with a very juicy interior. a bit more juicy than the bun could handle (i had a double, btw), as over the course of eating the bun disintegrated. i finished the meal using a fork. but it was really good regardless. i liked the fries as well, they were rough cut and tasted like potatoes should. we all got shakes (huge and thick and great), and regular drinks as well, so the check of $56.08 is a little higher than it would have been for a regular meal. i would be happy to go back.

uncomfortable atmosphere.... my main problem with pattywagonis the owner. since he moved into the building, i've visited twice. hoping to just grab some good food and be on my way, the guy stares a hole through my face and goes on and on and on about the ingredients the other guys use. very weird and uncomfortably outgoing and confrontational, as if he's on too high a dose of add meds. the burgers are good but they don't taste grilled or anything. they're just real beef cooked on a stainless surface...it isn't magic, people. if you give them a try, just do yourself a favor and go when they're busy so the owner won't have time to make you sweat.

i have not had the opportunity to be a patron here. curiosity compelled me to google it and find these reviews. i remember this iconic building as a thriving national fast food chain and love the "rocky" aspect of a local david defeats corporate goliath in their own real estate..... i find it curious that there is a january to september gap in reviews. are local restaurant conglomerate propaganda agents getting lazy or do we blame the average joe for no reviews? tucker's sucks let's be honest... no bacon ?!? soggy buns, limp fries... is this pattywagonthe real deal? gimme the rundown.

something's not right here. i became a fan of pattywagonwhen they were an actualwagonat may and grand. i followed them to may and hefner and then to may and 36th. today i had such an impossibly bad experience i will never return. my visit took almost an hour and a half. a gentleman and his son who came in a good 15-20 minutes after me and received their food about 1 or 2 minutes after i received mine got a profuse apology over their wait when their food was delivered and another profuse apology as they left after eating. the owner gave them their next lunch free. for me? nothing -- though, as i said i waited much longer than they -- than anyone else in the building -- did. with all the time i waited, the burger was unexplainably not hot. the fries were good. that's the only positive note i can add to this miserable experience. this business has some serious issues in need of addressing.

great local beef!. the mushroom and swiss was awesome. personnel are very service oriented and make sure that their guests are satisfied. don't waste your time going to any other places for a good burger. compared to flat tire on a scale of 1-10, the pattywagonrestaurant is at least 5 points higher in service, 6 points higher in quality, 4 points higher in value, and 9 points higher in being bad to the bone.

grass-fed gem!!. finding this place was like unwrapping a much-anticipated christmas present, while i was at home visiting family in okc for the holidays. now that i reside in los angeles, i experience a bit of culture shock when i visit oklahoma only to discover that grass-fed beef burger restaurants just aren't so easy to come by -- not yet, anyway. but pattywagonis helping to change that. as we enjoyed our meal, my family and i had a nice chat with the owner, during which he shared his knowledge of the beef market, how to find the best beef, and even how pricey it is to get a hold of organic produce. so, though it's not necessarily a mecca of all things healthy (they serve fries and soda too), their deliciously yummy grass-fed beef certainly is a step in the right direction -- especially for oklahoma, where these kinds of steps are not only necessary, but urgently so! thank you so much to bryce for starting up this wonderful burger joint, and giving my family a tasty, satisfying alternative to the literally sickening overabundance of immune-compromising, genetically modified corn-fed meats. it is my hope that locals can help to support you in your very important endeavor... and anything i can do to help, just say the word!! awesome meeting you... i'll count on seeing you again next year! :-) :-) :-)

fantastic. i understand one of the previous poster's comment about the cleanliness - in fact, i think we were there at the same time. the tables needed to wiped down, for sure - i think we grabbed one of the few clean ones. the food is really where these guys excel, though. the burger was amazing! i love s&b - definitely one of the best in the metro. pattywagonis right up there, too. love the hand cut, fresh fries. i didn't think they were overly salted - mine were perfectly seasoned. will definitely be going back for more.
