deliciousseafood& good atmosphere. we usually go here for family events, because the food is very good (lots of varieties of fish andseafooddishes) and they accommodate large groups well. their portions are all well sized for needing to bring some home at the end. their boudin balls are delicious and the crab and corn bisque never fails. the ponchatrain is really good, but sometimes might be a bit heavy. others have had the delacroix and been pretty happy with it. theirseafoodplatter is overflowing.

long overdue for another visit here as they are top five in the local area overall.

sort of a more casualseafoodlovers place along the lines of lagniappe but much more approachable with larger dining area, really great bar and top oysters in the area, raw and grilled.

some dishes are big enough to share and some can be very rich so keep that in mind.

putting it back on our list for a visit soon.

this was a meal oh so close to perfection. the service was excellent. the bread oh the bread was addictive. my fish was cooked perfectly. the gumbo was on the creole side and my only knock as it was just warm not hot. i do highly recommend parrins to anyone wanting a goodseafoodmeal.

this is the authentic cajun/creole style fixings... oysters bienville, boudin, fried alligator, boiled shrimp and crawfish... and those are just the appetizers. add soups likeseafoodgumbo, crab and corn bisque, turtle soup and you are in louisiana bayou country. entrées read like... andouille encrusted fresh fish, crawfish etouffe, catfish perdou, bbq drum fish, new orleans bbq shrimp, and these, together with an outstanding meat menu, put you in south louisiana, feasting on sumptuous, super seasoned, country style cuisine and "passing a good time". not only is the restaurant recommended, it is essential if you want to taste louisiana...laisser la bon temps roulette!!

who goes toseafoodspot and orders chicken? this guy. i'm not a bigseafoodfan, but several friends told me to try out parrains's. i knew i was off to a good start when i had a hard time finding a parking space. you have to look for the building way at the back of the parking lot. the atmosphere is very casual and laid back. i had the chicken platter with dirty rice and mashed potatoes. i also ordered an appetizer of hush puppies, which were solid. just a little bit sweet with tiny bits of bell peppers. my chicken had great flavor and it was juicy, and the dirty rice is quite possibly the best i've had. on my next visit i will need to step out my comfort zone a little and try some seafood.

we went on a saturday night. (7/11/15) the wait was about 50 mins which made us think this must be a really good restaurant. however, it was not. my friend had the whole shebang friedseafoodplatter. upon getting his plate we thought wow look how much food. however, upon further inspection there wasn't muchseafoodat all! theseafoodwas stacked on top of a large pile of dirty rice and french fries to make it look like a lot of seafood! the fried catfish, stuff shrimp, oysters were average at best. i had the vermillion which is "grilled fish topped with shrimp, mushrooms, and green onions". the fish was very bland and surprisingly tough with no noticeable seasoning at all! the fish portion size was very small and there was a total of 3 shrimp on top. the shrimp were not very good either. overall, we were very disappointed in this restaurant and will not be going back.

sarurday afternoon dining. we got to parrain's shortly after 5:15 p.m. we were quickly seated and waited on our waitress. when she finally came over, and we ordered beer on tap, she had to come back and tell us their taps were no working. we ordered the crab and crawfish au gratin to start. it was very salty, as was most of our meal. the remaining courses came out in a timely manner, but they were delivered by someone else. and our waitress passed our table often without checking on us at all. overall, a disappointing meal for two that cost me 60.00. i used to eat here all the time when we lived in baton rouge. it was our favoriteseafoodplace. it definitely is not the same restaurant we used to love.

always good. we lived in br for 8 years and lafayette for 11, and parrains has been by far the most reliably excellent meal in either town since it opened 15 or so years ago.seafoodis delicious, sauces are perfect. pontchartrain and andouoillle ncrusted fresh fish are favorites. don't believe the negative reviews, we wish they would open one in lafayette.

parrain’s did not disappoint us. it was yummy! theseafoodpasta was loaded with fresh crawfish, shrimp, and chunks of crab. it was also flavored extremely well with cajun seasonings. i am not kidding. it was the best cajunseafoodpasta dish i have ever had, and i lived in the new orleans area for six years. i had to try the white chocolate bread pudding too. it is one of my favorite desserts, but i am usually disappointed after trying white chocolate bread pudding in restaurants. i have an outstanding louisiana recipe for it which can rarely be beat. here is a link to this fabulous dessert!! anyway, i really liked parrain’s white chocolate bread pudding. it had a touch of almond flavoring in it and sliced almonds all over the top of it. it was delicious!

i was able to taste the dishes my family enjoyed. the fried shrimp was also one of the best fri
