this is the authentic cajun/creole style fixings... oysters bienville, boudin, fried alligator, boiled shrimp and crawfish... and those are just the appetizers. add soups like seafood gumbo, crab and corn bisque, turtle soup and you are in louisiana bayou country. entrées read like... andouille encrusted fresh fish, crawfishetouffe, catfish perdou, bbq drum fish, new orleans bbq shrimp, and these, together with an outstanding meat menu, put you in south louisiana, feasting on sumptuous, super seasoned, country style cuisine and "passing a good time". not only is the restaurant recommended, it is essential if you want to taste louisiana...laisser la bon temps roulette!!

sarurday afternoon dining. we got to parrain's shortly after 5:15 p.m. we were quickly seated and waited on our waitress. when she finally came over, and we ordered beer on tap, she had to come back and tell us their taps were no working. we ordered the crab andcrawfishau gratin to start. it was very salty, as was most of our meal. the remaining courses came out in a timely manner, but they were delivered by someone else. and our waitress passed our table often without checking on us at all. overall, a disappointing meal for two that cost me 60.00. i used to eat here all the time when we lived in baton rouge. it was our favorite seafood place. it definitely is not the same restaurant we used to love.

delicious lunch. i celebrated my birthday with lunch at parrain's. there are a slew of restaurants from new orleans to lafayette that "fry" seafood deliciously, including parrain's. however, when it comes to grilled or paneed fish entrees, not one restaurant can compare to the awesome entrees at parrain's. i like all the specialties, but my absolute favorite is the andouille encrusted fresh fish. it doesn't matter which fish is featured, the chef prepares it expertly. today, the fresh fish was redfish. it never tastes "fishy." it is always mild & paneed to crispy perfection. the sautéedcrawfishand mushrooms in andouille cream sauce is rich, creamy and a delicious accompaniment to the fish. i departed full, satisfied, and happy knowing it won't be long until i return!!

best in br. my hubby and i eat at parrain's weekly. we have loved it since it opened. we recently lost 50 (h) and 30 (me) lbs for health reasons. our eating style changed from everything fried and smothered in fattening sauces to lean, broiled, baked or steamed. parrain's fits splendidly into our new healtly lifestyle. they are very accommodating to "go easy" on the butter/oil, sauces and dressings "on the side," and trading out starches in favor of steamed broccoli. servers are always attentive, and the food is fresh and prepared expertly

good food, rustic atmosphere.. i just left there. wednesday evening about 9 pm. still crowded, a bit loud with people having a good time. service was pleasant and attentive, but not overbearing. i had the halfcrawfishetouffee and half fried crawfish. it comes with a salad for $14.95. the salad was nothing special, mostly iceberg, with some croutons and a couple of grape tomatoes. the house vinaigrette was a touch sweet and a touch spicy. i thought the etouffee and friedcrawfishwere excellent. fresh, tender, plenty of spice and flavor. the etouffee was served over rice (of course), and the plate came with a tiny individual loaf of french bread that had been doused in butter, sprinkled with spice, and warmed in the oven.

all in all, a very good meal and not a bad value, if not inexpensive.

went for sunday lunch today and it was amazing! i had thecrawfishtails andcrawfishetoufee and my boyfriend had the shrimp/fish platter. it was so good. the salad dressing (vinegarette) that they use is one of the best i've ever had. i will definitely return and i recommend it to anyone that wants good food and good service.

great food! crab andcrawfishogatin was delicious. the service wasn't good at all. our server was very rude. with the 18% gratuity tact on because our party was large, she received a much larger tip then she deserved.

want cajun seafood? go to parrain's. there's a reason why this place is always packed.
their food is amazing.
start off with their chargrilled oysters or crab and corn bisque and then move onto theircrawfishetouffee or shrimp, crawfish, & crabmeat pasta.
my family always bring special guests over to this place when it's notcrawfishseason.

yes. i love this place so much. the 50/50 platter of oysters andcrawfishis great and a really delicious dish to share among friends. thecrawfishmacaroni and cheese was an amazing twist oncrawfishand mac and cheese. i had never had this before in my life and just had to try it. once i bit down into that cheesycrawfishgoodness, my taste buds were on a ride of their life time! great place for the whole family with a nice laid back atmosphere. the service is super fast and friendly, drinks always refilled without asking, and the prices are really really great for the amount of food a person receives.
