original pancake house

name says it all--. so, i voted "don't like"- but that is a little misleading. i think this place is good if you go and order a sweet breakfast, pancakes, waffles, crepes etc or maybe an omelet. i ordered "steak and eggs" despite the description of a "tender 6 oz. filet steak" the meat did not seem to be of good quality and it surely wasn't a filet- way to fatty to be a filet. it came w/ eggs- they were good- and potatoes- they were ok. on the contrary, my wife got the blueberry pancakes and loved them- i had a bite or two and they were good. so, in my opinion the place is worth it if you want a sweet breakfast. i know the name of the place indicates this- so i encourage you to stick to what they do best, cakes and waffles!

my grandma used to take us here. there are long wait times often, but it's worth the wait!

unbelievable food! best brunch we have had in the cities by far. the lemon ricotta pancakes are melt in your mouth. **call ahead it cuts the wait in half*** highly recommend this place! breakfast all day--- can't beat that.

just great. their food is very unique. i even had one dish that they lit on fire. it was spectacular. their pancakes are huge and very tasty. their toppings are not just out of a can but fresh and plentiful. i cant wait to go back.

upscale comfort food. the mandarin orange crepes are wonderful not too sweet but very good. the omelettes are big and puffy and very satisfying. the whole place is like a visit to grandmas.

my delivery was a total fail. i ordered a sausage omelet and got ham. i specified no melon in my fruit order and got all melon. i ordered sausage gravy and they had none. the delivery was over an hour delayed so everything was horrible including warm milk and the rubbery reheated omelet. i called to complain but they didn't answer the phone. obviously staff and management are ready for a total rehire throughout.

the service was pretty quick, everything was clean and tidy, the waiter was super nice. i had the apple cinnamon waffles and it was delicious, although it was a little bit salty for my taste.

excellent place for breakfast with so many different things to pick from on the menu. pancakes are the best and the servings are huge; consider sharing because it’s enough for two people. the fresh whip cream is the best. only drawback is that there are too many tables and chairs crammed in so you are extremely close to the strangers sitting next to you - too close for my comfort.

original pancake house in montgomery is one of my favorite breakfast destinations. in contrast to the corporate ihop chain, original pancake house has a full menu of great pancakes, crepes and other tasty breakfast treats that's as creative as it is diverse, rather than simply a collection of calories, sugars and fats piled together. you'll find no "happy face" pancakes in the house.

my favorites are the danish kijafa cherry crepes and the dutch baby, along with original pancake house's thickly cut bacon and some freshly squeezed oj. the coffee's great too. there's usually a line at breakfast time, but it moves quickly and the wait is well worth the time.

original pancake house in west chester has the same menu as the montgomery location, but i find service at the latter especially friendly.

well... the other are the same, i think all of the offerings are great, but the service is sooooooo slow, i don't get it why it takes so long to get the check, use a flag? need to train the staff better..

will return.

better than ihop by far, not a fan of the apple pancakes (they are more like manhole cover-sized crepes) but everything else i've had here was good enough. the place is full of families on weekends so you may have a wait. closes in afternoon. they have a few locations in the area.

consistent excellence

after eating at an original pancake house in illinois we rerouted our trip to come here. we weren't disappointed. they consistently have the best blueberry pancakes in the country. we also tried the strawberry blitz crapes and the nutella crapes and they were excellent. if i am in the area or even close to an area with an original pancake house we are stopping.

service. the wait is terrible. 25 people waiting for a table while 2 booths are open. young girl working in front trying to manage the crowd is more focused on her phone. get better management

no idea why people like this place.. first time there. horrible experience as a whole. i ordered pancakes, an omlet, toast and home fries. i only ever got the omlet and homefries. the omlets are ovbiously made in some kind of machine. they are round and look like a cow pattie (taste like it also). the omlet didn't even have the ingredients i ordered. the home fries were ok. can't speak for the pancakes becaue i never got them. although, i did pay for them. it took forever to get food and the lady at the front desk ovbiously was not too thrilled about her cashier job and was not in a hurry to do anything and didn't even talk loud enough for anyone to hear her (i'm 21 years old my hearing is great). the place was packed for some unknown reason... it was definatly not because of their omlets that arent even yellow... they are brown and literally are big and round and look like a cow pattie. i thought it was my pancakes at first. horrible experience overall, i wouldn't recommend it to someone i did not like.
