unbelievable food! best brunch we have had in the cities by far. the lemon ricotta pancakes are melt in your mouth. **call ahead it cuts the wait in half*** highly recommend this place!breakfastall day--- can't beat that.

excellent place forbreakfastwith so many different things to pick from on the menu. pancakes are the best and the servings are huge; consider sharing because it’s enough for two people. the fresh whip cream is the best. only drawback is that there are too many tables and chairs crammed in so you are extremely close to the strangers sitting next to you - too close for my comfort.

original pancake house in montgomery is one of my favoritebreakfastdestinations. in contrast to the corporate ihop chain, original pancake house has a full menu of great pancakes, crepes and other tastybreakfasttreats that's as creative as it is diverse, rather than simply a collection of calories, sugars and fats piled together. you'll find no "happy face" pancakes in the house.

my favorites are the danish kijafa cherry crepes and the dutch baby, along with original pancake house's thickly cut bacon and some freshly squeezed oj. the coffee's great too. there's usually a line atbreakfasttime, but it moves quickly and the wait is well worth the time.

original pancake house in west chester has the same menu as the montgomery location, but i find service at the latter especially friendly.

disappointed. i will start by saying this place has excellent food, but part of the dining experience is also customer service. the day i went in i called ahead to be placed on the wait list and was quoted 45 minutes. when i came in 45 minutes later i informed the woman at the front desk who stated she could seat us when she could. we got in line and ended up waiting another 30 minutes, the amount of time i would've waited if i hadn't called ahead. when i my two friends and i got to the front of the line we asked what was the purpose of the call ahead wait list, and got an answer that was completely illogical.
so we finally got seated a blonde woman came over, took our drink order, not introducing herself. we finally got our order in and everything seemed to be going smoothly. until we realized our waitress never came back to give us coffee. so we waited. fifteen minutes later we flagged down another waitress with a coffee pot. then five minutes after that our waitress came out with coffee. i watched as people seated after us, in our waitress's section, received their food. when our food finally came out we were missing items, at which point our waitress looks around the table and asks us what is missing before checking her notes. then she disappeared again. and i mean disappeared. we rarely saw her. it was to the point where the table next to us was ready for their check and decided to get up and go find her. a busser came around and we asked him to send our waitress. when he asked who she was we could not answer because she never introduced herself to us.
at the end of this horrible service we still had to pay a priceybreakfastbill for piss poor service. and leave a tip because i've been a waitress before and i understand this is their main source of income. and i understand being a busy waitress, and i've never given or received such horrible service. i will not be going back here ever. such a shame though, it was good food.

the food is pretty good, and the place is always packed. i love that its the kind of place where you can sit back, relax, tease the waitress a bit and enjoy yourbreakfastcompanions.

outstanding! bestbreakfastin twin cities. i had the special chipolte chicken crepe and it was fantastic. very busy place, the wait is worth it. service is exceptional. some crazy woman complained to the host station "did you forget about me, i have been here 20 minutes!" everyone in the lobby wanted to slap her silly, but the hostesses was calm and professional. 5 star place top to bottom.

a staple....breakfastplace in edina, the oph brings some awesome tasting pancakes & otherbreakfastfoods into the happy stomachs of those that decide to wait around.

yes, even calling ahead we still had to wait about 10 minutes to get seated. if you go here around the normalbreakfasttime, as others have said, prepare to wait.

once you get beyond that the oph serves up some wonderfulbreakfastfoods, with their specialty being and large assortment of pancakes. i tried their plan pancakes, which might be the best i have had. fluffy? check. flavorful? check. light? yes. just a solid pancake. the hash browns were "ok", i have had better and worse. blueberry muffin was really good though, with plenty of blueberries throughout the delectible delight.

there is a reason it is currently the #48 restaurant on urbanspoon...because it's dang good! you want a good breakfast, give the oph a try.

great food, busy. met some friends here forbreakfastlast saturday morning. when we finally got in and did eat (to be fair, we were a large group) the food was amazing. i had the potato pancakes and they were thin, crispy, flavorful. kids had crepes. son had classic hash browns, thick cut bacon, eggs. honestly, everyone loved their food. (coffee was so-so, very typical pancake house coffee.) but, oi, the wait...

yummmm. i came here with my dad who was visiting to the cities and wanted to go to a greatbreakfastjoint. i read the reviews and decided to come here. it was a sunday morning around 1000, very busy, but since there were 2 of us we were able to get in 10 minutes right by the kitchen. which was fine by me! the service was great, the waitress was very friendly. gave us time to review the menu, but always came by in time. the food was great, and you get what you pay for! omelettes are huge, and with most entrees you get 3 pancakes. bottomless coffee! will come back, but probably not with a big group of people or not during peak hours!

bestbreakfasti've had in some time. grade: b

it had been years since we ate at original pancake house and decided to try it again this morning. best idea of the day.

the cherry kijafa crêpes were huge, filled with cherries and covered in a delicious cherry sauce. the real whipped cream really made the dish.

i didn't feel like pancakes, and instead ordered the works (2 eggs, 2 strips of bacon and hash brown) but substituted toast for the 3 buttermilk pancakes that normally come with the order. the scrambled eggs were fluffy, the hash browns crispy. their thick cut bacon was a nice change from the normal greasy, thin strips in most restaurants. but the bread that was used for the toast - thick, white bread that tasted freshly baked - was really a surprise.

this is now a solid option for weekend breakfasts for us.

our favoritebreakfastplace, hands down. we love oph and go there regularly. the staff remember you and what you order - it's like an a.m. version of cheers:)

after trying many things over the years, we now order a creation of our own from two different items on their menu: buckwheat pancakes with strawberries, strawberry syrup and real whipped cream. you have to try it. the buckwheat is good for you and it tastes so amazing. keeps you going all day long!

note, i'm a fan of omelettes and egg scrambles and such, but i don't care for the oph egg dishes. stick with the pancakes, waffles, french toast, etc. (or the lunch items if you come in during the week).

greatbreakfastspot. this is our second trip to the oph, we do an overnight in cincy each summer and found this place by accident last year. we love the pancakes and i really enjoyed the dutch baby this trip. everything we've tried has been great: pancakes, pecan waffle, texas potatoes, biscuits & gravy, all of it! prices are high on the side items (3.50 for a side of fried potatoes) but it's a once a year treat for us..enjoy!!

yummers!. on our last day in the cities we were looking forbreakfastpast noon. our hotel recommened original pancake house in edina. we're sure glad they did.... we walked in about 10 minutes before closing (3pm) and it was no big deal to any of the staff, we swore we wouldn't dawdle ;-)

the food was so good.... i'm fussy about pancakes, too many places don't cook them through. but oph? they know how to cook a pancake :-) and everything else.

we well definately return next time we're in town
