old green bean

really like this place! it's a regular stop for us - great, healthy food with good atmosphere. the old green bean provides a welcome point of difference for anyone chasing something better than the bland fare served up at most bendigo cafes. coffee is roasted on site, and is easily the best in town for mine. if you haven't been in yet - do yourself a favour!

i've had coffee here a couple of times. good coffee, friendly service. the slice i had last time wasn't quite as good as i hoped (that was 6mths ago). the café has a good relaxed vibe. i sat back in a bridge chair and read the paper while i sipped. others were eating inside and out at either individual tables of the communal table. has free parking at the door which is a bonus so close to town.

delicious, interesting menu - highlights are the nachos - fresh and satisfying, and also the chocolate, fig and hazelnut cake, which never fails to make my day!
the coffee is consistently fantastic and the staff are friendly and helpful.
the only negative thing about the old green bean is their short opening hours and the fact they aren't open on sundays!
i highly recommend everyone to give this local gem a try!

nice!. i have been here three times now, once for lunch and twice for breakfast. great coffee, good food and reasonably priced. lunch is definitely a bargain.

amazing. this morning, my partner and i went to the old green bean for brunch. we were expecting a little coffee shop, that might have been a little slack, and dirty.
but, oh my goodness, what a fantastic suprise.
at only 11:20am, the place was bustling, and the staff were absolutely wonderful! the coffee was honestly the best i have ever had, even better than all i tried in europe. i had a white chocolate chai lattee, and it was absolutely perfect! my partner had the big brekky, and my lord, was it big!? we have dined almost everywhere else in town, that has breckky, and not only was this the most well presented, but also the largest, and cheapest!
we have absolutely found our new favourite place! and i suspect i may have an addiction to this new white choclate chai!
can't believe i hadn't ever heard it being talked about before!?

shared a large chicken nachos with a friend & we both thought that they were to die for! lovely people & great atmosphere. coffee is amazing too! would definitely recommend going there!10/10

excellent and well managed cafe. the place was so busy, yet the staff remained friendly and attentive. we were seated after a very short wait. food was delivered within a short time and was yum. coffee was perfect.

my favorite place to come for breakfast in bendigo. i like that they change the menu frequently and keep things fresh. the food is always good, very reasonably priced and the coffee is great.

great find!. was only passing through bendigo mid morning, so just had a coffee and lemon tart. great coffee, lovely atmosphere, nice staff, was lucky to get a table! lemon tart was delish, although pastry a little too hard, couldn't break through it or stab it with my fork. will definitely be back if ever in bendigo again, menu looked enticing as did the rest of the cake cabinet.

great atmosphere and friendly staff members. the food is presented well and great portion sizes. the menu is great on its own but the specials always impress.

the wait staff were wonderful! our coffees came out within a few minutes of ordering.
the food came out very quickly as well.
i ordered the blt with a hash brown and fried runny egg and it was magic!
i also tried the middle eastern roti and the roti was perfect the flavours inside were great and the fresh tomato on top just made the whole dish come alive.
the coffees were equally as good.
a must try for all! highly recommended!

disorganized when you walk in not knowing what to do you are then told sit anywere and order at the counter then have to wait again for someone to take your order, what a stressful environment before you have even had a morning coffee. then your morning coffee arrives barely luke warm so you ask the waitress for a hot coffee then comes back burnt and too hot from being microwaved!! really a coffee house that can't even make a fresh coffee for a customer, ended up not staying for food and left them with the burnt coffee. terrible service and even worse morals and coffee, never again!

great decor with friendly service the muesli was tasty and fresh, coffee was nice but could have been hotter. will dine here again next time in town!

outstanding. this is interesting, a little quirky and good value. coffeee great and the nachos, healthy and loaded. reliable on every level and a bench mark for other establishments
