from the outside in this alleyway, you might be mistaken in thinking its closed. as soon as you push that wooden door, the decor catches your eye.its all viking themed with shields, helmets, hammer and more all around you. the wait staff were very attentive and gave good suggestions. the food came out and not only was it presented well, but it tasted amazing. i just had good envy everytime i saw the giant bonemarrowcome out.
great place for date nights or with friends. massive selection of cocktails.
a great fun night out with great good! well done!

fantastic experience overall - right from the ambience to the decor to the plating and food options. real vikings feel everywhere. the starters were to die for! we ordered the bonemarrowand burrata and then drank whisky with the bonemarrow- what a thrill! dinner was fish in chowder soup, steak and short rib. the short rib was outstanding however the fish was salty and the steak was a bit overdone. the only main complaint was the service - took forever to get menus and the drinks.
however, great experience overall, slightly pricey but definitely worth a visit at least once.

this place brought me back to iceland with all the viking interior throughout the restaurant. came here to celebrate my partners birthday and we had an amazing time. you start the night off with a palate cleanser drink if you’re having alcohol. then you get to choose your own knife for the night which seemed pretty cool.

for drinks we got battle axe and loder. both were exceptional and brilliant. food wise we got some fresh oysters, venison loin and roast bone marrow. everything was spot on. what made it even more special is the bonemarrow– after you finish it you can have a whisky shot through the bone! my partner loved it. for main or from the carvery, we got the pasture fed short rib and wagyu sirloin. the portion was very generous, and it tasted amazing! will definitely be back to try the whole snapper as we saw a lot of the fish being pumped out of the kitchen.

this restaurant is super cool, kind of hidden/tucked away in redfern. we got complimentary shots as soon as we sat down which was great. the broccoli was to die for!! it’s super tasty and crispy, highly recommend even if you don’t like broccoli! the roast bonemarrowwas a tasty starter which went well with the bread. for mains, the rotisserie chicken and pork belly were both huge portions and tasty! my favourite drink was the northern lights- a bit tangy and fruity, super yummy and enjoyable. overall very good price and value for the portions of food and a nice different twist on foods!

wow! what a unique experience. the service was really amazing and i would recommend to anyone looking for something different to try.

they checked id at the door which i found weird initially but it made sense when the first shot at the table was on the house in a horned themed shot glass. i found that so cute and inviting. my sister had a non alcoholic drink since she was underaged which she enjoyed.

we ordered two drinks in the horn which was pleasant and a few cocktails which i found a little sour.

food we ordered oysters, bone marrow, pork belly, quail and short rib. we didn’t order any desserts cause we wanted to eat that outside.

the food was average. my favourite was the pork, it was juicy and very well cooked. everything else was just okay.

my favourite part of this dining experience was the service! my waiter “ferr” was bubbly and very lovely. she offered us whiskey through the bonemarrowbone which was very unique and gave it a smokey taste. the part that sold me, they gave my cousin a present cause it was her birthday (i have never seen this get done before, people are usually happy with a candle) and it was a free horned shot glass we initially had our first drink from and a hand written letter signed by all the staff. this was 15/10 service. i was utterly shocked and walked out a very happy camper!

good for anyone looking to do something a little different in sydney.

what a unique dining experience! dining experience alone should be enough for you to visit mjølner. i personally loved the overall ambience and nordic decos that made me feel like i was dining with ragnar lothbrok from vikings :) however, i did feel like this viking-themed venue paid a little too much attention to the theatrics than the actual foods.
a few notable things about mjølner:
- the waiter brings you a selection of knives to choose from before the meal. (man, all the knives are exceptional looking!)
- you can drink beer from this badass horn
- once you finish 'roast bone marrow', you can take a whisky shot using the bonemarrowas a funnel. (warning: it can get messy!)
- even your receipt looks cool with this pop-up viking ship!

foods were okay but considering the price, they could've been better overall. my favourite was roast porchetta which was decent but not as tender as i expected it to be. overall, i felt like dishes were a bit bland but maybe that's how it's supposed to taste. overall, i had a pleasant time at mjølner :) highly recommend!

i recently had my 30th at mjolner and had an amazing night. nick winter the general manager made all efforts possible to ensure everyone had the best experience possible.

the food was fantastic and everyone that attended was impressed with the service and other mjolner specific experiences such as the bonemarrowwhiskey luge and being able to choose your own viking knife to kick off the night, just to name afew.

it's key things like this that make mjolner unique amongst a city known for its amazing food scene.

thank you once again nick for making my 30th a night to remember.

sydney is lucky to have mjølner and as a passionate foodie, i’m glad we have mjølner. it’s a must visit joint. the venue is one of the best i’ve seen in sydney, and the beer glass/horn is the most unique thing i’ve seen. bonemarrowwas fantastic, oysters were creamy like butter and pork was cooked beautifully. service was top notch and it basically ticks all the boxes! i give this place 5 bears.

came here for a function with a large group - the food was delicious and well cooked, with really great portion sizes. a particular standout was the bonemarrowand doing a whiskey shot out of the bone after eating!

dined here for a special birthday and really enjoyed the experience. staff are so friendly, attentive and had great knowledge about the food served. appreciated the shot when you first sit down which got us into theme of vikings.

food:
we especially loved the bonemarrow(of course!). for entree, we had oysters and bone marrow. great 2 dishes to begin our meal. we continued to have the ribs and special of the night, the wagyu. the ribs were beautiful and tender. the meat came off the bone and was full of flavour. the wagyu was yum but abit over cooked to my taste. i loved the cauliflower puree that was paired with it.

to end, they gifted us with a shot glass as a birthday present.

would definitely dine here again if there was an occasion that came up.

very impressed by this viking themed restaurant and really loved the interior ! service was pretty attentive at the start but did get a bit inattentive as the night got busier . we got the bonemarrow, burrata and the lamb to share - the lamb was a really huge serve and we were pretty full what we didn’t order any dessert ! the theatrics of drinking a shot through the bonemarrowwas really fun, so was the drinks you can order in the viking horn
