a somewhat belated post today for a restaurant that deserves better! the menu may have changed, but i’m sure the quality hasn’t. if the marvel movies haven’t gotten you up to speed, mjolner is the name for none other than thor’s majestic hammer. it also happens to be the name of a viking themed restaurant on hardware lane, the second after the venue first became successful in sydney.

what a fantastic experience, i can't believe i didn't visit mjolner earlier. the food and drinks are absolutely top notch, highly recomend the gravlax which is out of this world delicious. the staff also get a 10/10 for service, extremely knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. 100% will be back again....and again......and again!!

nice interior and atmosphere. good service. everything was good but the food . tasted so bland and the presentation was meh. you’re basically paying for the experience because the food was very average and portions were small for that price. we were full at the end but unsatisfied due to underwhelming flavours. i personally wouldn’t come here again and wouldn’t recommend anyone to come here.

we were a group of 5 people, and we order the 90 dollars feed me menu. the food comes in serves for 4, even small items like the crackers to go with the buratta cheese. food we reasonably ok but definately dont feel like it worth the money we pay. maybe if we do a la carte will feel a bit more worth it

food was very bland , needed to add salt on all the mains received . although a different experience catered with nice service , the food was very underwhelming unfortunately.

vibe & service is excellent, food is excellent, but felt some of the mains were overpriced, $75 wagu steak didn’t command the price.

we had a friend unable to attend dinner & we were charged a $50 fee, pretty disappointed given the restaurant want booked out or even busy

awesome viking themed restaurant. fun viking inspired service, great food and even a pretty good vegetarian option. hated that we were a group of 3 and missed out the set menu. the food was impressive!

if you want to be charged an extra $50 for no reason and then aggressively be spoken to when you confront the bartender to recalculate the bill, this is a great place to go.
honestly, one of the worst experiences i’ve had at a bar. i’ve never been treated so poorly for just asking to have my money back when i was charged wrong. i eventually got my refund but i had to ask for the manager to be able to get it back. the guy at the bar ignored me the whole time until i finally got help. the manager that ended up helping me was lovely though. i will definitely never go back to this place again and will warn any of my friends not to go. i was very surprised at the horrible treatment my friends and i received when we weren’t even in the wrong.

this place brought me back to iceland with all the viking interior throughout the restaurant. came here to celebrate my partners birthday and we had an amazing time. you start the night off with a palate cleanser drink if you’re having alcohol. then you get to choose your own knife for the night which seemed pretty cool.

for drinks we got battle axe and loder. both were exceptional and brilliant. food wise we got some fresh oysters, venison loin and roast bone marrow. everything was spot on. what made it even more special is the bone marrow – after you finish it you can have a whisky shot through the bone! my partner loved it. for main or from the carvery, we got the pasture fed short rib and wagyu sirloin. the portion was very generous, and it tasted amazing! will definitely be back to try the whole snapper as we saw a lot of the fish being pumped out of the kitchen.

this restaurant is super cool, kind of hidden/tucked away in redfern. we got complimentary shots as soon as we sat down which was great. the broccoli was to die for!! it’s super tasty and crispy, highly recommend even if you don’t like broccoli! the roast bone marrow was a tasty starter which went well with the bread. for mains, the rotisserie chicken and pork belly were both huge portions and tasty! my favourite drink was the northern lights- a bit tangy and fruity, super yummy and enjoyable. overall very good price and value for the portions of food and a nice different twist on foods!

went there for my birthday celebration and it was a disappointment, the waitress so not friendly and the food took 1hr to come out. the waitress didn’t even give our changed back.

food was not that great as most of them dishes is salty.

this viking themed restaurant was a pleasant experience post lockdown. i had planned my birthday dinner here and it was nothing but impressive. for the first timers, it could be a bit of a task to find this hidden behind a medieval themed door. as soon as you enter, you have a welcoming entryway dazzled with candles. for starters, we were offered with complimentary drinks in horn shaped glasses. food was great, we went with few cocktails and a snapper which was not only appealing to eyes but also delicious. this one is definitely must for second visit in my list.

absolutely loved the concept and experience here!! the interior was fantastic and the staff really got into the whole viking story telling concept. we started off with a shot of skål in a really cool shot glass which was on the house. the entrees were great - loved the smokiness of the bone marrow. the short rib main was pretty disappointing though, it was bland and the mustard that was served with it didn’t taste that good. overall experience though was great and would definitely recommend if you’re after a different dining experience.

wow! what a unique experience. the service was really amazing and i would recommend to anyone looking for something different to try.

they checked id at the door which i found weird initially but it made sense when the first shot at the table was on the house in a horned themed shot glass. i found that so cute and inviting. my sister had a non alcoholic drink since she was underaged which she enjoyed.

we ordered two drinks in the horn which was pleasant and a few cocktails which i found a little sour.

food we ordered oysters, bone marrow, pork belly, quail and short rib. we didn’t order any desserts cause we wanted to eat that outside.

the food was average. my favourite was the pork, it was juicy and very well cooked. everything else was just okay.

my favourite part of this dining experience was the service! my waiter “ferr” was bubbly and very lovely. she offered us whiskey through the bone marrow bone which was very unique and gave it a smokey taste. the part that sold me, they gave my cousin a present cause it was her birthday (i have never seen this get done before, people are usually happy with a candle) and it was a free horned shot glass we initially had our first drink from and a hand written letter signed by all the staff. this was 15/10 service. i was utterly shocked and walked out a very happy camper!

good for anyone looking to do something a little different in sydney.
