milos, is amontrealinstitution and great success story in the world of restaurateurs. it can be counted amongst the few who over time, not only have survived, but expanded and morphed into something better than the original concept. for over thirty-five years it has dominated the realm of greek food in a city that is not only discerning but discriminating when it comes to dining out. from its humble beginnings, it has grown into an empire that spans across the globe. including locations in new york, miami, las vegas, athens and london.

it’s rather rare that we return to a restaurant twice in the same week.montrealis bursting with restaurants that demand our attention and we rarely feel like returning to a restaurant as soon as we walk out its doors. but that was indeed the case after we visited estiatorio milos for diva #1’s favourite cousin’s birthday. it certainly helped that on our most recent visit to milos, our attentive waiter kosta told us about the ktima parparoussis tasting, later that same week. could we really resist?

rude service. really rude receptionist on the phone -montrealhas the worst service in the world!

greek seafood. we were treated to a real special evening with great service and food. the crab cake was amontrealaward winning appetizer. we also started off with a split of calamari and octopus that was one of the best i have had. for our main course we shared a 3lbs wide eyed mediterranean snapper. it was fresh out of the ocean and flown in that day so you can imagine the taste. the price for the fish was a little high but one has to understand the source of the fish and it's travel. after a great indulgence and a wonderful interaction with our servers we were treated to a complimentry award winning las vegas dessert their baklava ice cream. wouldn't i recommend this place? sure would.

very disappointing. what could have a great dinner (albeit expensive) ended up being a very poor experience due to the awful service we received. our waiter was hostile, rude and careless. thank goodness we didn't need to tolerate this behavior on a consistent basis as he was fairly non-existent. after waiting patiently for nearly 30 minutes for him to come by to take our order, i literally needed to stop him in his tracks simply to ask a question as he never bothered to stop by. our orders did not come out as requested, this as a result of our waiter simply not putting the order in properly. he never came by to ask about water or more wine. we had to ask a busboy close by. at 2+ hours, we could not wait to leave. a waste of an evening and a waste of money. never again. milos here in nyc on the other hand is fantastic. pass on themontreallocation.

milos is amontrealinstitution and a nod to the city's greek heritage. the cuisine is simple and it has every reason to be. the restaurant's whole raison d'être is to let the ingredients speak for themselves.

an expensive disappointment. my partner and i visitedmontrealrecently and read the rave reviews about milos. we entered ready for an interesting and creative dining experience but instead were deeply disappointed. from appetizers to salad to main course - nothing special. yes, the food seemed fresh and was decently cooked but you can get that at your local eatery for 1/4 the price. the mystery is why all the raves? as far as i'm concerned, "the emperor has no clothes".

loved it!!. it was one of the best fish i have tasted inmontreal!! the seasonning was delicious ! and the salad that came with the fish along with all the other appetizers were excellent. i would definitely go back and i recommend for any family outings or even for a date.

disappointing. ok i know we were there for the late night special and i don't expect the same degree of amazingness that other reviewers have talked about but milos was really disappointing. my partner ordered the tuna burger - it could have been mystery meat for all we knew. it didn't look like tuna and it didn't taste like tuna. i ordered the lobster pasta because none of the other choices were very inspiring. it was $15 more than the set price. very lacklustre. it's a lovely looking restaurant and our waiters were nice but the food was a real letdown. i'm all for the late night menus thatmontrealrestaurants are offering but i think it's fair to say that compared to lemeac and other late nighters, milos is way off the pace.
