lychee lounge

perfect date location!. came here on a tuesday night as fellow hospo friends from melbourne recommended. share food and greatdrinksmake for a great night. we had bread,potatoes,chicken skewers and croquettes, then the pork belly (2 pieces!), and the pannacotta for dessert which was hands down top 3 desserts i've ever tried. good beer selection, healthy cocktail selection (although an ice sphere doesn't melt quickly enough to help dilute an old fashioned!). and great service. there was only one girl behind the bar and one guy on the floor and probably a good 20 or 25 people in the small space. well done!

amazing. we had a hens party booking for dinner and cocktails on the weekend at lychee lounge and they completely exceeded our expectations. the food anddrinkswere amazing but most importantly, the attentive staff were extremely good at their jobs and made our hen have the best time. from the moment we first contacted lychee lounge, the entire process was smooth and effortless, and the staff went out of their way to make the night personalised and special. highly recommend!!

went to the lychee lounge fordrinkswith a friend. bar has a great atmosphere and vibe about it. cocktails were amazing and the staff were super friendly. definitely would recommend!

lychee lounge has been a favourite brisbane spot of mine for years. i love the cocktails. i loved the staff and the atmosphere. i went tonight to celebrate a long week of hard work. i arrived and went to the bar and said hello cutely and asked for adrinksmenu. i was questioned "how manydrinkshave you had tonight?" i replied, confused, that i hadn't had any and that this was the first bar i had been to. i was denied service, being told that i seemed intoxicated and i wasn't going to be served and neither would my partner. both of us were completely sober. i was disgusted and shocked. i left and was considerably irritated and quite offended as i walked down the street. i decided to go back to ask for an email address to complain to the owner of the establishment about the incredibly offensive manner of which i was treated but was hustled outside of the bar and told that voicing my opinion was grounds to label me as "disorderly." i have never been so offended in my entire life. it was one of my number one spots but this one incident of misjudgement and ignorance has ruined the place for me. it goes to show that while the place may have amazing drinks, customer service goes a long way, something the manager needs to improve on greatly if he wants to keep his loyal customers around.

had a great experience here. loved the atmosphere and thedrinkswere delicious. definitely would be recommending lychee lounge as one of the best cocktail bars in brisbane.

all i have to say is churro's! went for dessert and had the best churro's. they were light and had the right amount of sugar on the outside and a lovely brandy chocolate sauce. service was good. the cocktails being served looked amazing and the place was pumping. i'm definitely going to come back and dodrinksand dinner. get the whole experience.

happiest customer of all time. i want to personally thank simon and tom at lychee lounge for helping to create an unforgettable valentine's evening for myself and my partner. i want to say first that the food and cocktails were just amazing, and i highly recommend lychee lounge just based on those. however, simon gave us some of the warmest, most polite and informed service i have had at any venue ever. he knew all the food, recommendeddrinksbased on our preferences, and showed an overall genuine interest in our experience that was the perfect touch to an excellent set menu. i have to say though, these guys went overboard for me, and did so as if this was what they do everyday. i had (ambitiously) requested that a particular song be played at some point in the evening, as it is 'our' song. i was not expecting this to happen, and would have been thrilled had they played it at all. but instead, tom and simon went to the next level. they organised for the song to begin playing at the very moment our dessert was placed in front of us. my partner was initially blown away by the 'coincidence' before she realised that the surprise i had hinted at was that our song was to be played. i didn't ask for this timing, for this extra step, this was done purely on the initiative of simon and tom. i was amazed at the level of care that went into this and really could not express my gratitude properly at the time. this experience will live on in our relationship for many years, and i will forever be telling the story of what lychee lounge did for us. thank you so much guys, it meant the world to me.

i was just here at christmas and thedrinkswere fine. not great, but fine. tonight they were worse than ordinary with even worse service. please try another venue for a good drink.

classy cocktails!. this is a great place for quiet relaxingdrinksin the afternoon. lovely bar staff and delicious cocktails - i recommend the espresso martini! nice sophisticated decor and ambiance, a great place to catch up and lose track of time!

very poor. went for dinner anddrinkson fri night with some friends for an early xmas party. cocktails were lovely and tapas was good, mains however were a totally different story.my duck was dry and ridiculously overseasoned, worst duck i have ever had anywhere my friends both ordered the chicken skewers which were raw. meals don't come out together and they failed to tell us that when we ordered. a beetroot salad arrived at the end of the meal. we ordered wine which never came until the 3rd time we asked for it and when i told our waiter about the chicken being raw he just replied "oh ok" and took the plates. i had to ask for the manager who did reimburse us for the chicken and a round ofdrinksbut it was too little too late. definitely wont be going back.

cocktails are a treat, and never the cheapest of treats. so if you're going to charge an arm and half a leg, good old customer should not be wanting. our group of four ventured in two nights before christmas. sadly our double round was punctuated by wishy-washydrinks(mostly the first round) and a distracted waitress who thought her cigarette break was more important than proper, efficient, mannerly service of the few people in the place. that she would voice her less than professional thoughts loud enough for us to digest does not auger well for her future career path (maybe it does, who knows?). we've been before, eight months earlier, when customer service was high and wholesome. not this time. not impressed.

i went here with a group for my friends birthday and found one male staff member in particular to be extremely rude and arrogant - to the point in which we seriously considered going elsewhere, we were so begrudged to spend our money at the bar. my friend was slightly late for her booking to which the waiter showed extreme frustration and humiliated her by questioning whether 'she even had any friends coming?!' she was almost in tears when i arrived. he proceeded to act like this the entire night with much of the group noticing. while the other staff were good and thedrinksdelicious it was dimmed as this staff member is the main memory our group has of the night. word to the manager - don't forget that your staff are the face of your business. make sure they don't misrepresent you!

after our great first experience at lychee lounge we decided to take a few friends from sydney there for dinner on saturday night. this visit was very dissapointing. service was cold and rude, we sent back a flat glass of bubbles, only to be told "it's chandon" in a condescending tone. we ordered a heap of the tapas share plates asking that they come out a few at a time so we could continue with wine anddrinksand make a night of it. after waiting 45 minutes all our dishes hit the table at once with staff lining up with plates that wouldn't fit on the table while we tried to make room. it felt as if we were being treated like crap because we asked to have the dishes bought out over time. to make matters worse 3 of the dishes we ordered were not available and we were not told until the food started to arrive. the food we had was nice, but to try and balance plates and eat was not a nice experience. i'm happy to give lychee lounge another go, but perhaps we will go on a quiet week night and order dishes 1 at a time so as not to confuse the wait staff or the kitchen.

great food and delicious cocktails. the vesper was one of the nicest i've ever had. the tapas plates where perfect size and full of flavor. pork belly was especially good, as was the honey crushed potato chips. service was a bit too cool for school, but the food,drinksand decor made up for it.

fantastic!. i absolutely love lychee lounge. the cocktail list is incredible, and for the odd cocktail that isnt on there, they are more than happy to make it for you!

i never really considered getting food there, until one day we were so busy chatting and enjoying our cocktails we missed how late it was, and decided to order some food.
we were pleasantly surprised - the food was delicious and reasonably priced, which can be very hard to find in small boutique bars!

i completely disagree with a review earlier about choosing sling over lychee lounge - yes, lychee lounge has a bit of a wait fordrinks(it is completely packed from about 7pm onwards, and you often need a booking, especially if there is more than two people), but the wait is completely worth it. i have never waited more than 15 mins for a drink, and that was in their busiest time. there is also table service, so the time you would normally spent waiting at the bar is cut out!
sling, the cocktail bar across the road, in comparison has watered down drinks, even if they are cheaper and quicker. definitely not worth it.

word of caution - be careful what you say about others in this place - the dome in the room means that if you sit at the wrong (right?) point you can hear others conversations loud and clear - can produce some hilarious results, but not for the drunk idiots who are talking badly about those in the bar!

love this place. recommend it to everyone.
