louie's wine dive

good food...but loud!.louie'swas my 2nd choice after finding that next-door-neighbor gaf had closed only a few days before. i was looking for a quiet spot to read and enjoy a little dinner, butlouie'sreally isn't the place to do that. it's a place to have a nice glass of wine and converse. and, there was plenty of that going on, and people seemed happy. i did have a glass of coppola's pinot noir andlouie'sbruschetta sampler, which had some very fun combinations and was very tasty.louie'sis a chain, with locations in omaha and desmoines, but unique enough that it doesn't seem that way. not particularly fond of their website, which doesn't provide any information about their menu or wine selections, which are formidable.

food good, management not. we have been tolouie'sbefore and the food is great! the problem seems to be the maitre d. tonight, they lost our reservation and told us we could wait downstairs and have a drink and appetizer, until a table opened up. we went downstairs and there wasn't anywhere to sit, also didn't appear to have wait staff, you had to get drinks from the bar down there. the hostess could not tell us how long it might be to get a table.
we finally got fed up enough to leave and i told the hostess to take our names off the list as we were leaving. she was very apologetic and nice and offered us free appetizer coupons and said she'd bring the manager over.
the manager came over and did not know they'd lost our reservation. i told him what happened and he basically just stared at us and didn't really comment.
i'm not expecting anything for free, i don't mind paying for a good meal, what bothered me was the fact that i made our reservation early in the day and they somehow lost it and the manager didn't really seem to care, nor did he try to do anything about it.
i hope they figure the reservation system out, it is really a good restaurant in the neighborhood, but i won't expect to get a table with a reservation again, as this is the second time this happened, since the place opened a month ago!

best new place in kc!!. i always enjoy my experiences atlouie'swine dive. the recently new restaurant has a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere making wining and dining fun and the coolest place to be seen in kc.louie'swine dive offers a large variety of delicious entrees in addition to their diverse wine list. but even if wine isn't your interest their drink list has much to offer as well.louie'swine dive is the perfect place to catch late night drinks with friends with their convenient late hours. i would recommendlouie'swine dive to anyone.

just go tolouie'salready!!!. you won't regret your night atlouie'swine dive. the atmosphere is casual and inviting. the selection of wines is top notch with something for every taste and budget. the food is expertly crafted and very flavorful with a homemade touch. the wine pairing that was recommended with the meal was excellent. i am learning about wines andlouie'shas made my experience a joy. there is no pretense about the staff toward those that do not know wines. the wine flights allow you to experience something new that you would not otherwise know about or even try. the pumpkin soufflé was the perfect way to conclude my meal. i will become alouie'swine dive regular.
