the food was a great, it was a taste experience. flavours i've never had before, though i would say for a full meal i'd say r350 pp. so be prepared to spend more for artisanal food.

the only reason i’m not giving this establishment a five star rating is because of our absent minded waiter, we had a hard time getting his attention even though the place was fairly empty for a saturday afternoon. now that that’s out of the way, the food was delicious i had the chicken and calamari salad which was so fresh and delicious. they make really refreshing cocktails. a must try

what a great experience.. first time visiting koi and i just want to go back for more. incredibly tasty sushi, their salmon sashimi and their tempura prawns is the best ive ever had. this softness of the salmon shows the freshness and great quality. the tempura prawns were crunchy on the outside and soft inside, being a well portioned size also. the ambience a d interior is modern but comfortable and relaxing.
the service was fantastic and the knowledge of our waiter was great, with him advising on some of his favourites

the meals here never disappoint. if you love japanese cuisine this place is definitely a great spot to pop in.

the sushi is always so good and so fresh

some firm favorites are the salmon and the seared tuna served with wasabi mash. the red thai chicken curry and baby chicken are also winners.

i have never had a bad experience at koi menlyn maine! the staff are always friendly and professional, the food divine (best miso soup i’ve ever tasted in sa), great selection of wines and champagnes and more-ish deserts.

one of the best places to grab dim sum and any great asian cuisine. my boyfriend and i often come to this restaurant and have not been disappointed as of yet. the decor is lovely and there is the option of sitting on the roof deck looking over the square of restaurants in menlyn maine.

a very average experience indeed.
service was virtually non-existent.
food was very average to disappointing. crispy calamari was overcooked and tough. the crispy beef was a whole lot better but still not good enough to rave about. just a very average dish.
not sure that it is worth the money considering that there are many other beter restaurants out there.

so decided on a chilly winter’s evening to have dinner at koi. we received a very warm welcome from the host. the staff were so friendly and pleasant. although the restaurant is big, the ambiance was quite warm and romantic with soft lighting. fresh and contemporary decor! loved the fact that the drinks and food menu was so extensive! so we tried some japanese beers which were refreshing and quite different. they have a few to choose from! for starters... we ordered different items off the menu, like dim sum, money-pockets, etc. and for mains sushi. the food was very tasty and delicious, some of the best i’ve tasted. the flavors and freshness were spot on. for dessert 🍮 probably one of the best and tastiest puddings i have ever had, it was pina colada type meringue. will definitely return to try more things on the menu!

make no mistake....the restaurant is beautiful and servers friendly but i found the food average and really, very overpriced. i don't believe this is a value for money option. we had the steamed bao... the buns were good but the filling was ice cold. not somewhere i would visit again.

great food, great staff, although they spin a lot when the restaurant gets full. overall very pleasant. i had the infamous wagyu beef starter, it just melts in your mouth.

i had dinner there on friday evening... the service there is appalling. i was quite disappointed as i loved the koi that used to be at lynnwood bridge.

i had the most delicious meal here. wow. i am a sucker for udon noodles, and these were thebombdotcom! so fresh... almost seemed a bit thicker than normal. i built a bowl - udon noodles, indonesian sauce and chicken. my sister had the ribeye, delicious! great presentation. and their vegetables (side dish) were also delicious... unfortunately, the service was okay, then bad. we asked for a second bottle of water - it never arrived - and the waiter had the audacity to say... " dont worry, the second bottle of water isn't on the bill " . wtf???

the food is great, but the service is quite dismal. at least koi has a good reputation, otherwise this restaurant would not survive.
still waiting for the beers we ordered on monday evening.

definitely satisfying! we were two people who ordered tempura prawns, nigir sushi (prawn and tuna) and prawn tacos.

the best meal we ordered for lunch was the prawn yozu tacos...it was innovative and delicious. we were dissapointed that there were only 2 tempura prawns in the serving. however the meals were satisfying and light on the stomach. if you are ravenously hungry i would not reccomend this place unless you buy many platters to share but it's definitely a place to try out.
