delicious and perfect in everyway. i'm not sure what the negative reviews are going on about. this place has consistently provided me with excellent service. i'm sure there have just been a few off days for the restaurant, but who doesn't have a bad day every now and then?
i've been coming to this family run restaurant for years now and i love it. i've taken my indian parents here; people that are very picky eaters, and they absolutely loved it. even when i'm not around they stop buy to grab a bite.

the servers are all really nice, the chefs are amazing and the food is fresh, good quality and service is quick. one of their male waiters is really cute too. ;)

for their dishes, i personally recommend the deep fried squid, crab, lobsters, duck and kai lan! i've never personally tried their dimsumbut all my friends tell me it is amazing.

like i said, i have never had a problem at this place. the food is fantastic and for the price you're getting it at, it's practically a steal.

10/10 will go again!

went for dimsumon mother's day and i knew it was going to be super busy so we were patient throughout our experience. after being seated we waited well over 15 mins just to be greeted and given a menu and tea. server was very kind and accommodating with my cousin's shrimp allergy and offered us options for soup. food took longer than expected but again, we understood that it was a busy day. the dimsumhowever took exceptionally long. others who had ordered dimsumafter us were getting their food first. it was such a long wait that i still had one more dish that never came so i had it removed from the bill. lastly, i hadn't noticed a sign that they put up at the entrance for mother's day saying it was cash only. any other day i know they accept cards since this restaurant is our go-to place for special occasions. they said that their machine was down today. i apologized for not knowing it was cash only. they said that they would take down my card information and process it but i was fully prepared to drive a couple of blocks to withdraw money if need be. the lady scolded me for not reading the sign and took my credit card information. she didn't give me a receipt, didn't ask me to sign anything and she didn't ask how much i wanted charged. not even a thank you at the end. i understand that she was busy but perhaps they need to develop a more efficient way of providing better service to guests during busy days (more staff, specific roles to workers, etc.) after having this unpleasant experience, i will be watching my bank statements closely and will think twice about visiting this restaurant again.

dimsumis not the original chinese flavour. portion and price is expensive. the boss lady or owner has no customer service skills comparing to the lady waitress there who was super nice and friendly. they posted online the menu didn't match the menu they had in the restaurant therefore when we ordered over the phone the boss lady took down the wrong number ordered and blamed it was our fault. thanks to the waitress for resolving the issue with a happy attitude. the boss lady face was very bitchy and rude. first time will be our last!! we are new to the area and wanting to find a good dimsumplace. this is a no go back.

their house special crispy chow mein is one of the best in town! in addition to regular seafood, chicken and bbq pork, it also has some fried fish mixed into the sauce. the dimsumis decent, though the regular shrimp dumpling seems a bit small and siu mai too meaty (lee yuen's has more shrimp to it though both are pretty large portions). their scallop-shrimp dumpling is great and larger portioned though it comes in three pieces. fried squid is not as greasy or spicy as some other locations.  i tried their wonton noodle soup a while back, the wontons were great but the soup was awful as the noodle dough taste went into the soup.

i love this place!. i come here almost every week with my fiancé. the food is always fresh and very delicious. our favourites are the wonton soup, deep fried spicy squid, ma pao (sp?) tofu pea tips and fried rice. occasionally, we would order some dimsumwhich is also very good.
tip:
try not to come here on the early lunch hour on the weekend because you will get little to no service at all. it's jammed packed.

raw food. i ordered dimsumto go. i was very excited to eat it when i got home. i feed the children before eating myself and what i found when i bite into the shui mai shock the heck out of me. it was raw inside, i cut the rest in half and all of it is the same. what really upset me is my children ate half of the order already. beef ribs in black bean is the same as well. when i called the restaurant to complained all they said is to bring it back and they will replace it! if i can't drive back there, sorry but thanks for calling! i will never go back to this place again. customer service and food quality is close to nonexistent .

we try harder. have been to the king do at least ten times and have enjoyed the food. the restaurant is relatively small and space is broken up. the lady that meets and seats customers is very charming and helpful but the waitresses have limited english skills and often get orders wrong or don't understand what is asked for. the food is definitely exceptional but there is a limited selection of dimsumitems.so most meals are a combination of full and dimsumsize portions. the menus are poorly organized and difficult to follow,e.g. the picture menu does not name the dishes shown. i ordered what i thought was beef and broccoli and got pea greens which turned out to be very good. i believe that the kitchen facilities are inadequate to handle the demands of a fully seated clientele. a multi course meal takes a long time to be served and arrives in random order. the spring rolls could come first or last and greens could come at anytime. overall, because of the delicious and well prepared food i rate the restaurant highly and will return often.

they have really stepped up their dimsumgame since closing and relocating to 104th! i love their variety of dishes and their claypot with beef brisket and rice noodles is delicious. service is always great and the owner always stops by every table to make sure everyone is enjoying themselves! yes, they can get busy and the kitchen can be slow when it's a full house, but it's worth the wait for the only decent dimsumplace in surrey!

** october 2018 update **

there has been an ownership change and there is a new chef. we ordered some chow mein, beef and broccoli, spicy fried squid and sweet and sour chicken and it wasn’t as good as the previous chef’s. it’s just okay. i will give it another try and try the dimsumtoo and further update my review.

** march 2019 update **
tried the dimsumhere after the ownership change. it’s pretty good but not as much selection as the previous owner/chef. i miss the fried shrimp bean curd 😕

the food and dimsumare pretty good. i was really excited when i found this place as it was a good dimsumalternative. however, there is one fatal flaw with this restaurant...slow food prep. we went there on 3 occasions for dim sum...all during the weekend around 11-12pm. contrary to what others say, there are no dimsumcarts. all the food are cooked to order. it is fine when the restaurant is not busy but weekend mornings tend to be prime time for dim sum. our first dish came out at about the 30 min mark. one hour into the dinner, half of our order still has not cone out. this happened on all 3 occasions so i finally give up. food is good but i cant be waiting one hour for the food...its dimsumfor goodness sake. be warned.

king do is becoming a family favourite of ours, as there aren’t many good choices for chinese food in surrey, especially those that offer dimsum(and peking duck). they hosted my nephew’s baptism lunch last month, and we went back for a family lunch this past easter weekend. we ordered way too much food (again) – peking duck with lettuce wrap as the second course, chicken corn soup, deep fried tofu, deep fried squid, pan fried rice rolls, sticky rice, beef with flat noodles, chicken fried rice, beef balls, some vegetables, and sesame balls. the peking duck was something that i was craving for a long time, and only got to have a litte taste of it at my friend’s birthday a few weeks ago. this satisfied my craving. the warm wrapper, hoisin, green onion, thinly sliced duck, and crisp skin was realy good. they did something a little different and added cucumber for more crunch and freshness. the fried tofu and squid were topped with the same garlic, and

we'll be back again and again and again. we're so glad this wonderful place is back! the restaurant wasn't officially open yet, but it was already almost full of diners. we went for dim sum. although the dimsummenu isn't extensive, there's lots to choose from in their reasonably priced menu anyway, and "off-the-menu" things are offered by the waitress. in the regular menu for instance, a must try is the salted spicy squid. it was perfectly cooked, tender pieces in a very light batter crowned with tiny garlic and jalapeno pepper pieces. the har gow and sui mai are very big! they are three bite pieces, not two, and like the squid, perfectly tender and they must be cooked to order. they are so fresh-tasting. they do not have that rubbery cooked from frozen taste that some other places have. service was very attentive and friendly. we also tried for the first time their fried tofu, which is a new favorite. we are looking forward to going back and trying the regular menu.
