under the new management, this place has been a hit and miss. same dish would taste different every time when we visit for example we ordered spicy deep fried squid which was fresh and meaty squid and tasted delicious but coupe days later the same dish tasted totally different. they had switched to frozen squid and it tasted bland and rubbery. our recent visit was the worst because my husband was in the washroom with one of their kitchen helper who did not wash his hands before returning to work!!!!! this is totally unacceptable!!!we talked to the front staff who insist he did wash his hands in the kitchen??!! we are not going to take the risk so we left and not comingbackto this place anymore

king do seafood restaurant is located on 104the ave surrey. the location is a little bit far away from the skytrain station. we've been this place at the beginning of the july. by accident, i found this restaurant. we ordered 2 courses beijing duck and special combo for dinner. the beijing duck was over cooked, which was very dry. the special combo was a very great deal. only $10, you can a large plate of food. the food taste was decent. large portion with a cheaper price. the servers are friendly too. we were excited to comebackagain in the future.

my husband and i have been looking for a good chinese restaurant for the past five years, and we finally found a place worth goingbackto. we were pleasantly surprised with the food and the service, granted the location of the place. authentic chinese food that is the best i've ever had so far. give it a try, you won't regret it :)

no steamed rice and rude services. ok - i never write reviews but the terrible service here was worth my time! so i'm sitting here with my family right now waiting for some white steamed rice. first of all, what chinese restaurant doesn't have steamed rice? strange, i know. they first offered two bowls of rice they had available but the rice was cold - obviously old rice that they used to make fried rice. we said we would wait for some rice to be made. and so we sat as they brought out our dishes and no rice. our dishes getting colder by the minute.....

not once did they come by to let us know how much longer the steamed rice would take. i had to follow up twice myself and each time i was told it was almost ready. never was there an apology.

omg, 30 mins later our rice has finally arrived (although not fully cooked)- our dishes are cold now. not even an offer to provide us with a discount or anything.

so basically, no tip and i will never ever beback- too bad b/c even though the food was ok the service was the most horrendous i've ever experienced

raw food. i ordered dim sum to go. i was very excited to eat it when i got home. i feed the children before eating myself and what i found when i bite into the shui mai shock the heck out of me. it was raw inside, i cut the rest in half and all of it is the same. what really upset me is my children ate half of the order already. beef ribs in black bean is the same as well. when i called the restaurant to complained all they said is to bring itbackand they will replace it! if i can't drivebackthere, sorry but thanks for calling! i will never gobackto this place again. customer service and food quality is close to nonexistent .

king do is becoming a family favourite of ours, as there aren’t many good choices for chinese food in surrey, especially those that offer dim sum (and peking duck). they hosted my nephew’s baptism lunch last month, and we wentbackfor a family lunch this past easter weekend. we ordered way too much food (again) – peking duck with lettuce wrap as the second course, chicken corn soup, deep fried tofu, deep fried squid, pan fried rice rolls, sticky rice, beef with flat noodles, chicken fried rice, beef balls, some vegetables, and sesame balls. the peking duck was something that i was craving for a long time, and only got to have a litte taste of it at my friend’s birthday a few weeks ago. this satisfied my craving. the warm wrapper, hoisin, green onion, thinly sliced duck, and crisp skin was realy good. they did something a little different and added cucumber for more crunch and freshness. the fried tofu and squid were topped with the same garlic, and

-clean and new interiors
-friendly service from the owner/manager
-surprisingly good food
-large parking lot in front and back
-live seafood was on sale
-overall pricing is on the inexpensive side
-the restaurant is accessible by cars heading east or west on 104 which was good cause we were coming from guildford mall and thought we had to make a detour
soso:
-lighting is too bright and i'm not particularly fond of the disposable plastic tablecloths
disliked:
-servers are not friendly or properly trained
-plates were not changed unless we asked and when we asked, they only exchanged the plate of the person who asked
-the dining area is strangely divided by a long wall to make a party room. i would feel weird about having a party in their party room seeing as how it is narrow and long (4-5 large tables all in one row)
would i come back:
-yes. hopefully the service improves but in the meantime, the food is tasty enough to have us come back

update:
-camebackon a thursday for a small get together. food was very bland. big difference from the meal we ate the previous weekend. head chef's day off perhaps?

we'll bebackagain and again and again. we're so glad this wonderful place is back! the restaurant wasn't officially open yet, but it was already almost full of diners. we went for dim sum. although the dim sum menu isn't extensive, there's lots to choose from in their reasonably priced menu anyway, and "off-the-menu" things are offered by the waitress. in the regular menu for instance, a must try is the salted spicy squid. it was perfectly cooked, tender pieces in a very light batter crowned with tiny garlic and jalapeno pepper pieces. the har gow and sui mai are very big! they are three bite pieces, not two, and like the squid, perfectly tender and they must be cooked to order. they are so fresh-tasting. they do not have that rubbery cooked from frozen taste that some other places have. service was very attentive and friendly. we also tried for the first time their fried tofu, which is a new favorite. we are looking forward to goingbackand trying the regular menu.

my husband and i have been waiting and wishing for a good chinese restaurant to open in surrey. thank goodness - the wait is over!! we were incredibly impressed by the quality of food, selection, and service from king do. the dim sum was fresh and delicious...definitely not the frozen type that some restaurants serve. the service was unlike any other chinese restaurant we've ever been to (and being chinese, i have been to a lot...). not a word of a lie when i say that the waitress came by to check on us and the quality of the food at least 4 times. as soon as our water was low, someone was there to fill us up immediately. i would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone and i really look forward to goingbackto try their dinner menu.
