went out tolunchwith my partner to celebrate a happy occasion. usually get the yummy sticky ribs so got them again today... ribs were dry and difficult to cut with my butter knife usually they are falling off the bone not this time! staff replaced my meal but made sure to tell me that's usually how the ribs come and that would replace it "this time".. disgusting. partner is a chef and i didn't need his knowledge to know it was not good. by the time i got my meal he had finished his so much for enjoying a nice lunch. also... the male waiter unfortunately had a distinct bo smell... not appetizing will not be returning.

food: my smoked lamb salad. delicious, lots of flavour and lots of lovely cooked melt in your mouth lamb
atmosphere: it waslunchtime, not too crowded and we were seated outside in the sun
service: polite, attentive and friendly. the waitress checked with us a few times (not too intrusive either) and took drink orders which didn't take long to come out.
value for money: very good actually

i have been both at night for dinner and also for lunch. today it's lunch. i love the $12 range of food. cheap price doesn't mean cheap food. the food here is terrific. i had the traditional fish and chips with salad. yummy just perfect for lunch. and washed down well with a glass of cider. wanting a very reasonable pricedlunchat a licensed restaurant then this is the place to go.

i took my partner there forlunchon sunday the 17th november 2013 as part of our relaxing anniversary weekend. i am a chef by trade with 18 years exp and obviously choose places that appear to have a bit of class. we arrived and were greeted and taken to a table outside by the street. to start with i was asked to remove my hat, ( i was in dress shorts, button up shirt with a tidy cap) to which i obliged however not 10 minutes later another couple came in and the male was not asked to remove his. i listened as a group asked for a slight variation of a menu for the children of the group and were told a resounding "no, we don't do that" another woman came in with a small dog (in the outside area) and after sitting peacefully for 10 minutes the same waitress came out and told her that her dog had to be outside the barrier, the woman and her friend decided to leave and i listened as the waitress joked about it to other staff.
i found the pork ribs were more like a braised stew and my partners chicken korma was lacking in flavour. the side of cross cut fries were enjoyable.
to top it all off the waitress forgot about the second beer i ordered so we gave up and went to pay and found that she was trying to charge us for the second beer never received.

very disappointing and certainly will not be back.

this is our favourite restaurant in hamilton. it is clean, modern and the food is delicious!
we love the $12lunchmenu and often order the soup as it is always divine. the fish always melts in the mouth-another favourite of ours. highly recommended!!

keystone is the slightly fancier in the hierarchy of the lawrenson empire, coming in somewhere between victoria street bistro and furnace. it's a fine place to kick it up a notch for things like birthdays, and it's where i've had it for the last three years. thelunchis always nice, never had any problems with the food. quite small portions however, i guess that happens when you try to keep a gourmet plate under $12. the staff can be a bit inconsistent with the level of service, but there's never a shortage of them. the projector screen comes up during rugby season which earns extra points with me! also the only place that serves montieths radler on tab.

have been here on a number of occasions for bothlunchand dinner, never been disappointed.
always received great friendly service from the staff, and relatively quick service (even on the busy night of the rwc final!).
meals are great and a good size. i do enjoylunchhere a little bit more than dinner ($12lunchmenu is great value).

i went there forlunchfor the first time and followed with dinner a week later. the food was great. their $12lunchmenu is incredible. the amount&quality of food was outstanding for that price. the service was average, don't feel like they care enough. the restaurant was nice and clean. however it took ages for food to arrive. overall was good and i definately go back for lunch.

what a fantastic place!!! i went out forlunchwith some girl friends and it is going to be my new fav! the food was yum, service was fantastic, nice clean, well presented place! wonderful keystone, we will be back and i will be spreading the word!
