some of the bestsushiand some of the worst service. i have been there 5 time and every time i go i say i'm never coming back because of the service. they are very suck up and rude but the food is good and not to expensive.

amazing drink specials (they had $1 carsons bottles, and $2 craft beer bottles when we were there!), edamame was warm and salty like it should be, egg rolls were some of the best i've ever had. we had three differentsushirolls, all of which were fantastic. 1 was a volcano which was solid, another came with jalapeno slices on top and was absolutely phenomenal. (request this one, can't remember the name!)

place is a bit small but it's a cool atmosphere. definitely recommend!

service seems to have improved. maybe because there is a lot less people than there used to be compared to a few years ago. the problem is that the portions are still small and expensive. probably the best tastingsushiin bend as in they make goodsushirice and make a great sauce on some of the rolls. just expect about $80 for two.

thesushiwas okay, but i have eaten there twice and was completely disappointed by the food both times. first, bulgogi without banchan or even kimchi? what?! long grain white rice! what?! over cooked dry sesame chicken! yuck. the miso soup is good and salad was okay. the atmosphere is terrible. the restaurant is small and so loud you can't here the people at your table. i spent the last attempt at this poorly thought out restaurant listening to the horrible cackling of a women a few tables over. it's not worth returning.

gone downhill!!. i used to eat at kanpisushiall the time when i lived in bend two years ago, it was super good!!! i just went back this week while visiting...expecting the same level of satisfaction. not at all!!! it was awful! sloppy rolls! i'm not sure where all the good chefs went..but the quality of the good has gone way down! i will never return!

sadly disappointing. i love eating at ckb and i was hoping that kanpai would be just as fantastic. i was not very impressed though. i will probably stick with eating at zuki instead.

the vegetable spring rolls were a horrible disappointment. i was very excited that there was a vegetarian version of spring rolls in a town where most of the food comes with meat. there were too many noodles and the wrapper was overly heavy and difficult to eat.

the pho was also sadly underwhelming. it tasted like beef stew not at all like pho i have had in big cities at vietnamese restaurants.

my husband enjoyssushiand was also not impressed the few times he has ordered it here. it was generally warm and not very fresh.

the two redeeming qualities were the crab rangoon which were so good i think i could eat them as a meal and the cookie dough egg rolls which were chocolately and gooey and delectable.

raise the damn bar. goodsushiin evansville is hard to come by and this place definitely does not have it. kanpai is the definition of americanized japanese food. i asked for mysushiroll to be remade then watched as the manager who was on duty remake the roll which ended up being worse than the first. miso soup tasted like it was made from condensed. nothing about kanpai felt like a really goodsushior japanese restaurant but they sure do charge like one! definitely still worth the drive out of town for great sushi! last, i got a free dessert for complaining. deep fried cookie dough sounded great ... oh man my stomach hated me for a couple days.

kanpai great sushi, drinks, & service. i just went back after a 4 year absence to kanpai and what a surprise.the decor is clean and modern. it has greatsushifor a great price! awesome beer/wine selection and specials. reasonable great daily specials. i like the spicy tuna & sob roll and seared ahi tuna!!!
they have the best handmade egg rolls in town! our server miki was friendly and attentive, made great suggestions, and kept our drinks filled and made the visit special. my guest said we should ask for her next time...
