terrible experience at this place on saturday. i reserved three weeks in advance and the reservation process went mostly smoothly, except i had to ask twice for a price list for bottleserviceand after asking twice for this service, i was told that a group would be taking over half of our table at midnight. i then had to again tell them that i wanted my table as i was planning on getting bottleservicetoo. at this point, the person organizing my party said that wouldn't be a problem in that case.

when we got to joverse, no one greeted us at the door, and we literally waited 20 mins before any one asked if what we were waiting for. during this time, no one that worked there even came to the door area so that we could even ask for assistance. finally, after greeting us, they made us wait another 10 minutes while they cleaned our table. our reservation had been at 9:30 so our table should have been clean by then and waiting for us, but it wasn't even clean by 9:50 when we finally found someone.

our waiter was very nice, however the drinks took over 20 minutes to come, and when our food started coming out, the runners did not know what food belonged to who, and a lot of my guests did not get the correct plate. the prices were normal, the the drinks were good, the food was good (but also very greasy) and there was only one salad as a vegetarian option.

at 11:30, we were ready to order our bottle service, so we did, however by 12:30, we still hadn't been served our bottle. during the entire hour, not one person working at joverse came to our table. eventually, another server (or maybe manager?) came to tell us that a group that had ordered more bottles than us was taking over our table. we explained that we had been here for hours, and had reserved our table 3 weeks in advance for the whole night, mentioning we wanted dinner and bottle service, but they didn't care. we were moved to a tiny table (our group had 12 people), but on the bright side they finally brought our bottle. again, another mistake here though, since they brought kettle one, rather than the grey goose that i had ordered. about 5 minutes after they dropped off the correct bottle, our old server mysteriously appeared, wanting to be paid in full for the bottle immediately, and ''apologized'' for disappearing for so long.

overall, probably one of the worst experience i've ever had at a bar. the "bottle service" was notserviceat all, and was an embarrassment on their part. by the end of the night, my friends were angry, sober, and the night was basically ruined, and joverse lost money as we had originally intended to buy several bottles, but decided against it based on our experience with the first.

went there with a few friends around 6pm for drinks after work. had many of the apertizers and all were delicious, especially the sweet potato aragula and old cheddar poutine! overall great decor, goodserviceand decent prices. will definitely try again for a full meal next time.

a little disappointing....... we visited joverse while in montreal for memorial day weekend. we arrived on-time for a friday night reservation @ 7:30. we were not greeted and had to ask the bartender where we should check in. a gentleman came over, showed us to our seats and advised that the table had to be avail for a 9:30 seating. we figured a 2 hour window should be sufficient. this "restaurant" seemed to be more of a social / spot-of-the-moment place. the music was already above conversation level and made hearing our host very hard. it has a tapas-style menu and proved to be pricey. each item was served with two "portions", even though there were three in our party. we asked if a third could be added and was told we would have to order a second plate. considering an average cost of $13-15 dollars per order, we made do. we tried their crab cakes (sauce on top too sweet and unnecessary), pulled-pork taco (best item of the group), beef sliders (greasy and under-cooked) and a blackboard special of deconstructed ribs with an overly spicy side of kimchi (didn't care for either). one would think the cost would allow for the size of the portions to be more substantial but one would be wrong. theservicewas pushed as they seemed to be clearing things from the table as soon as a plate became empty (and more than once had to ask them to stop removing things before we had finished with them). maybe this pace allowed them to turn the table quicker but it was annoying. without alcohol, but including a tip, our bill was approx $90.-. for the quantity and quality of the food, this was an experience we will not repeat.

went there on saturday night for couple of drinks. loved their long island iced teas and the chip and dip combo. theservicewas good and the staff was very courteous.

amazing. on y est allé avec un groupe d'amis la semaine passée seulemen pour prendre un verre et on a fini par y souper et finir la soirée là-bas! quoi dire de la mozzarella et de la salade de thon sa donne l'eau a la bouche!! sans oublier leservicedes employée très accueillants! un endroit a essayer a essayer sans faute!!

joverse. on y est allé il y a une semaine avec un groupe d'amis et je doit dire quon a été agréablement surpris.. on y est allée seulement prendre un verre mais avec leur menu qui donnait l'eau a la bouche on n'avais pas le choix d'y goûter! quoi dire duserviceet des employés très accueillants! on compte y retourner sans faute :)

joverse unique montreal concept. there doesn't seem to be a term able to encompass the experience offered by joverse. good thing come to those who take advantage of the dinner service. affordable yet bold and flavorful joverse specialises in tapas style tex/mex. the first thing people will notice upon entering is the warm and refined industrial look. theservicewas exceptional. the music adapts to the time of the night starting relaxed and non intrusive and pick up heat towards midnight when joverse becauses a real clubbing hot-spot. a fantastique roster of dj's are to be expected.

meilleur restaurent au vieux port !!!. si vous voulez passer une soirée et un souper entre amis avec une ambiance décontracter pour ensuite passer de restaurent a club pour une soirée mémorable avec les meilleur dj a mtl ! une clientele de choix et unserviceimpecable joverse!! joverse!! et joverse!

horribleserviceand prices. never again.. it was my first time going to this place which was apparently a cool place and we were celebrating a birthday, group of 16. decor and music was great. but that is nothing compared to the terrible and unpleasantserviceand greeting that we had. half of us were already there and ordered, when we were suddenly asked to be pulled a table because not everyone yet has arrived and that the reservation was at 9pm, i was about 10:30pm... since when do you get pulled a table from a group when the "whole group. is not there (missing 1/16)? worst part is yet to come. when the food arrived, the "manager" then came and he said that the table we had was a 2000$ table and that we only ordered one meal each and a bottle of wine (until now)... * they make you feel guilty for not paying enough when they could be doing more on that table with other customers.* how it ends, the managers asks the bouncer to put out the whole group, we paid the bottle only (because that's what was only consumed) and left. now other than that, the portion of food (main dishes) that i saw was incredibly small that would be considered as entrees. i would not recommend this place, food didn't taste it, but you don't get enough for what you will pay for,servicewas irritating, if you look like you won't be ordering enough, you'll get the amount ofservicethat comes with it. never again i would step into this awful place.

terrible service!!!. i went there for a friends' birthday, and had made the reservation over a month in advance to be able to secure the 30 places i wanted to be able to eat and party. here is when things started to go wrong.

two weeks after i had spoken to someone at the restaurant to confirm the details of my reservation, i get a call from the manager saying that none of the details were actually taken down, and i could no longer get the section i was promised. the manager then arranged for another, less private section, and let us know that we would be able to keep two of our 4 tables during the club hours. another guest then reconfirmed the day of the event with the manager that we could indeed keep the tables even though we were not planning on buying bottles.

after the 30 of us dished out $50 a piece + drinks for our dinner (delicious), we were told that we could not keep any of the tables if we did not buy bottles. we tried speaking to the manager who refused to leave us even 1 of the 2 promised tables, and essentially forced us to buy a bottle.

the food is good at joverse, much better than most resto-clubs, but unless you want to be pressured into a spend, choose between dinner and party, because getting both will insure a terribly rudeservicewith no guarantee of what you were promised!

will not book there again.

best food. i reserved for a group for my birthday. this place was perfect!
the food is awesome, very creative, loved that we could all share little bites instead of big huge individual dishes, my favorite being the duck tacos (omg!! )
theserviceis fast and effective and there is a dj right in the restaurant, so the vibe was super upbeat and happy :)
we all went downstairs in the red room after dinner, where theathmosphere is different, a bit darker and perfect to dance: it was definitely one of the greatest birthdays i ever had!
if you like excellent food, good vibes, house music and unpretentious crowd, you need to hang at joverse!!

if you're looking for the most happening place to be at, be sure to go to joverse. in my opinion it is by far the best looking place to hit up in montreal! after admiring the totally one-off decor you will love theservicefrom the amazing and friendly staff to cater to your needs ;) there's also something special added to their already stellar food menu every evening! don't miss another night away from the beautiful clientele and not to mention the amazing music, whether you choose to be upstairs or to get lost in the music downstairs in the redroom be sure to try them both! cheers!!

awesome experience!!!. the vibe and ambience at joverse combined with outstandingserviceand hospitality is hard to beat. owner and local dj/promoter julian prince (aka notv) takes nightlife to a whole new level. his attention to detail and warm presence carries through to all the staff making joverse an extremely pleasurable experience from the food to theservicewhich is hard to match. expect warm efficientserviceand a friendly smile, along with a simple selection of tapas engineered to have something for everyone. downstairs you'll find red room, a small cozy bar with a sound system that kicks! hosting some of montreal's finest dj talent playing everything from techno, tech house, to progressive. encompassing all the finer things that montreal nightlife has to offer joverse is a must to visit if you haven't been yet. from working with them djing in the red room as well as enjoying going there as a customer i've never been disappointed and always have a great experience.

out of town foodie. it was an unexpected treat. upon entrance we were a bit apprehensive...theservicewas excellent, the food delicious..we would highly recommend.
