great food, fair prices. i had 1/2 oyster poboy and seafood gumbo. very good. my wife had pork chop plate. she loved it.

they have literally tons of poboys. not far from the natchez steamboat.

you gotta try this place.

extremely dissapointed. we were in new orleans visiting and was so excited about johnny's as we had heard so many good things about it. we ordered the surf & turf which was their famous roast beef and fried shrimp. it was disgusting. the bread was soggy and the fried shrimp tasted like it had been sitting there for a day. it was a horrible after taste.
we preferred the "old coffee pot" fried shrimp po' boy. so dissapointed with this place!

the chicken poboy at popeyes is better than the shrimp poboy here. i was very disappointed considering the line was out the door.

very impressed. all i have to say is, the wait is worth it. if you've go the time johnny's is the place to go. the staff is always very busy, but they have never been less than cordial.

loved to food - great value for money. filling portion sizes, food is fresh and is quick. the long queue doesn't lie.

johnny degrusha opened up at this spot in 1959, and three generations of his family have been serving up po’ boys here ever since. they do po’ boys the way subway does submarine sandwiches, which is to say that they do all kinds. alligator? check. bacon a

a new orleans legend, you simply gotta go. not only is the food less expensive than the tourist traps, you will see mostly locals here. i'm not a huge fried food fan, but when in nola...

the best. hands down, the best po-boy i have ever eaten. i highly recommend the fully dressed "johnny's special" (beef with grilled ham, american and swiss cheese, and lettuce, tomatoes, pickles & mayo). well worth the wait and well worth the mess you'll make eating it. my wife and i split one because we thought they were huge... don't do that - get your own; you won't regret it.

went at breakfast time, i got the bacon cheese omelet. it came with hash browns, really more like home fried, and a biscuit. home fried and eggs were ok, biscuit was really good. place was empty when we went in, then filled up. even being empty it was dirty when we went in.

i am usually suspicious of fq spots but this one has stood the test of time. very good, high volume, clean and great po boys. love the ham dressed with american cheese on their soft french bread. 2nd would be the dressed roast beef with swiss. dine at this spot vs mothers restaurant. i know everyone wants fried so of course the fried shrimp or oyster po boys work.

the food is great - we had a shrimp poboy (with lettuce, tomato, pickle and mayo) and a meatball po boy. meatballs were home made and came with optional mozzarella.
overall they were tasty and a quick bite to have. it is the type of place where tables are quite close together and you get in and out. order and collect at the counter. it’s fast food done wellz
