jizo is my go-toplacewhenever i am in dunedin. staff are all very friendly and tentative and theplaceis always so busy creating a great atmosphere.

hands down favourite sushi place! i’ve visited here multiple times and their spicy miso soup is to die for! for the best experience, i highly recommend coming with a friend or group and getting multiple plates to share - jizo has so many different flavours to offer. the dragon roll, salmon with avo and cream cheese roll and sashimi are my faves. the atmosphere is chill, service is friendly and thisplaceis usually pretty busy so definitely book if you’re wanting to go for a special event!

this is aplacei would consider more as a comfort food establishment. nothing i found was amazing or seriously good. however, a good price point with decent enough food is all good in my books.

thisplaceis so lit, honestly, jizzo more like jiz in my pants !! if youre a poor student like me its the bestplaceto go, you get so much food for the price and its always super quick, also byo and they dont really mind if u get super drunk and dance on the tables ha . def recommend the jizo balls, but everything is mean. yeah go here if u wanna have a good time

i went to have dinner with my friend last night. the food was good. i ordered sashimi. they were fresh enough eat. (you know sashimi can only be eaten if the fish is fresh) the atmosphere of theplaceis ok. staffs were nice and friendly. surprisingly, the price was not expensive at all compared to the quality and amount of food we got.

i would not recommend getting takeaways from here. i placed a phone order and went to pick it up 15mins later. ask three staff to get my order and was told different thing each time. was in line for 20mins before i got to the counter. having pre-ordered my meal i was not expecting to then queue up behind diners who are waiting toplacetheir order & pay.

if i had to choose eating some japanese food, i think i would choose thisplacesimply because of the quality of the food. they're quite close to what they're meant to be. the presentation of the food is also elegant, with a wide range of dishes to choose from and a great atmosphere of the place.

the only downside of theplaceis that you can't book in advance. usually on the weekends, theplaceis packed. it's not ideal for a night out.

awesome! i just love thisplaceand have been several times! their food is amazing very fresh and is made to order (sushi etc....) it's delicious and can't recommend them enough! great value for money too.

where to start humm,
well the teriyaki tuna sushi is amazing i could eat it and eat it and eat it. the spicy miso soup is very satisfying and the karage chicken with the mayo is crazy good probably the best fried chicken i have ever had and its always great. i haven't had anything i didn't like.
its busy and quick most of the time but you'll get that when aplacehas such great good.

i love this place! i recommend the spicy miso soup, the tonkatsu (which is as good as ones i've had in japan), and the teriyaki beef dishes.

if you go, you must try the teriyaki salmon sushi... it's amazing! it's not very authentic japanese in my mind (i've never tasted anything like that in my 3 years living in japan), but it's well worth it!

the only issue is that the rest of dunedin seems to love it here too - it's always packed! not the bestplaceto go if you want a slow, relaxed meal - i always feel that i need to hurry along to let others sit down and enjoy this amazing food!

have been to jizo twice now. excellent food, good quality, great variety and well priced. it's great to have aplaceyou can take your family that is economical and healthy. the last visit i went with a couple of friends. theplacewas very busy and we thought we'd be lucky to get a seat but they work so efficiently that it was only a matter of minutes before a table was free. the food came quickly and was delicious. i had teriyaki salmon... mmm! next week is my hubby's birthday and i'm going to take him and the children. our children are reasonably fussy eaters but there's enough of a variety on the menu i'm sure they'll find something they'll enjoy.

we eat out for lunch every friday, our group ranges from 3 to 9 people and we try to go somewhere new each week. we have 3 rules: 1. has to be in walking distance. 2. $15 per head limit. 3.can't take longer than an hour.

we enjoyed our lunch at jizo! it was very busy, but as only 4 of us went it was easy to get a seat, if our group would have been any bigger we would not have been able to sit together or we would have had to go else where.

the service was good and we got our food quickly. theplacewas clean and tidy and the staff were very attentive. we will go back again one day i am sure.

terrible customer service, put us off the food.

went to jizo tonight with my girlfriend,

theplacewas busy and after finding a table my girlfriend went up to the counter to order, when trying to order the food the lady behind the counter was having difficulty taking the order and hearing what we wanted to order, she started becoming agitated and yelling at my girlfriend over the counter in a rude and aggressive manner.

after my girlfriend came back to the table we decided to leave as we had been put off theplaceand will not be back, may be just a case of one staff member being rude but either way a terrible experience.
