jizo is my go-to place whenever i am in dunedin. staff are all very friendly and tentative and the place is always so busy creating a great atmosphere.

hands down favourite sushi place! i’ve visited here multiple times and their spicy miso soup is to die for! for the best experience, i highly recommend coming with a friend or group and getting multiple plates to share - jizo has so many different flavours to offer. the dragon roll, salmon with avo and cream cheese roll and sashimi are my faves. the atmosphere is chill, service is friendly and this place is usually pretty busy so definitely book if you’re wanting to go for a special event!

i enjoyed my meal here as it met my expectations. the service was great, portions were really good. i would definitely recommend this place.

i and my friend always compare jizo with other jap restaurant cauz it tastes pretty good. i notice that most people order for take away, so if u wanna dine in, there are always seats for u.

i really recommend dishes in pic1 and pic2. i won't regret it!

good food need to fix the prices back no need to put them up any higher than they were the new owners had already put them up and now have once again disappointing and way over priced tofu should not be $4 for only 4 tiny pieces

this is a place i would consider more as a comfort food establishment. nothing i found was amazing or seriously good. however, a good price point with decent enough food is all good in my books.

i love the teriyaki salmon sushi roll! next to my favorite is the salmon avocado mango roll! food are reasonably priced and very delicious! staff are very helpful too. 👍🏻

by far one of my favourite japanese places. very well priced and great portions. i'm from out of town and jizo is always my go to when visiting dunedin

this place is so lit, honestly, jizzo more like jiz in my pants !! if youre a poor student like me its the best place to go, you get so much food for the price and its always super quick, also byo and they dont really mind if u get super drunk and dance on the tables ha . def recommend the jizo balls, but everything is mean. yeah go here if u wanna have a good time

decent vegan options, plus happy to discuss ingredients for allergy concerns :) (can do gluten free/onion family free cuisine). my favourite is to order lots of the sides and mix them together (jizo salad, edamame, rice, maki rolls, tofu, etc) very affordable too 👌 would benefit from supplying tamari (gluten free soy sauce)

delicious meal! usually i get food envy at places... but my katsu chicken curry was delicious! i rate mt experience at 3 because... i don't like how we had to line up in a loooong line and wait at the counter to order - feels like i'm at macdonald or kfc getting fast food! it was squishy and the waitress had to keep asking to excuse past us.. so really ur expected to stand in single file.. which isn't ideal when u want to talk to ur friend. i think for such a popular restaurant they should sort the waitress/servers out so the whole dining experience is in harmony with the actual food. when i requested for my curry to be very spicey when i made my order.. they didn't seem happy and acted as if it was an impossible request. however, other than the service issues i thought my food was fantastic. i also discovered when back at the table that there is spice shakers. .. which.. i guess they could have pointed out when i asked my meal to be spicey. i will return again - not for special occasions but just for a casual meal. the price was reasonable and the food was delish.

i went to have dinner with my friend last night. the food was good. i ordered sashimi. they were fresh enough eat. (you know sashimi can only be eaten if the fish is fresh) the atmosphere of the place is ok. staffs were nice and friendly. surprisingly, the price was not expensive at all compared to the quality and amount of food we got.

i would not recommend getting takeaways from here. i placed a phone order and went to pick it up 15mins later. ask three staff to get my order and was told different thing each time. was in line for 20mins before i got to the counter. having pre-ordered my meal i was not expecting to then queue up behind diners who are waiting to place their order & pay.
