italian kitchen

everyone has that local pizzeria close by, italian kitchen is ours. apparently you get more pizza for your penny if they are square!!! the pizzas are really good and the breakfast special is always a win for the hangover sods who lost their wallets the night before. i also feel therestauranthas not reached its full potential. they have a lovely outside area that is ideal for some type of happy hour in summer! they could also raise the menu prices by r10 if they changed the those table cloths. the decor is pretty good but the table cloths give it a slightly off feel.

i was pretty disappointed with our experience at the italian kitchen. a really lovely,cosy restaurant; we were greeted by the friendly manager and could smell the most delicious pizzas as we entered.

sadly, we waited close on an hour for food in arestaurantwith only 10 tables occupied. we noticed that many of the tables around us were also waiting on food. turns out they had a very big table in their downstairs private room. but we were only notified about this after complaining. no complimentary bread basket to tide us over on the long wait either!

as for the food: i had the ham and mushroom rissoto and it was amazing-and a huge portion too. leftover for the next day's lunch -perfect! however, 2 fillets ordered at the table were both overcooked to various degrees. to her credit, when the manager came to the table and was notified , she did offer to take the food back. but after such a lengthy wait- the guys were super hungry and declined. this was all after having to wait further for the 4th dish at the table; a pizza that took longer to come out as the wrong toppings were put on and discovered after.

the pizza was reportedly delicious, as were the sauces accompanying the steaks.

such a lovely restaurant, and delicious food -though i'd reccomend not ordered the steak as this was not a highlight.
i'll probably be back to try the pizza , but not in a great hurry after my experience.

i love this cosyrestaurantin tokai! it has a very relaxed and chilled atmosphere. my partner and i love the sei and nove pizza. 

the service is always great. i wish they would put the chairs and tables outside for anyone who wanted to dine outside during summer.

friendly waiter and nice cosyrestaurantbut my husband ordered a burger that was really quite disappointing. no toppings (lettuce or tomato) except for the patty. the patty was flavourless and tasted like it has been defrosted in the microwave. not sure we wil be going back.

thisrestaurantis like the little girl with the curl in the middle of her forehead - when it's good it's very good and when it's bad it's horrid! i've eaten there many times and 95% of the time the food is excellent but every now and then something is just not quite right and the food is disappointing. overall i highly recommend thisrestaurantfor a romantic dinner.

we popped in one night for an early dinner just after they reopened after being closed for renovations.

gorgeous decor but the room was very cold. no heaters or a fireplace. not ideal for winter. can't wait to try it out in summer with the lovely outside seating area.

starters were nothing exceptional, very ordinary. my favourite part of the menu was the many risotto options. i love arestaurantthat does a good risotto and i was not disappointed! i had the chicken and sundried tomatoe risotto. perfectly cooked with bold flavours. i thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

good service. very tastey and affordable for an easy dinner out. may be our go to local restaurant

quient littlerestauranthidden away. the food is great and the prices are well worth it. service is friendly and charming. when busy you can wait a while for your food but most of the time it is not to bad. very cosy and warm atmosphere. it is well worth a visit.
