another lovely experience, without a doubt the most friendliest restuarant in cape town, complimented withgreatfood, highly recommended to all cape town residents & visitors

in my opinion there are not much places in cape town that servesgreatpizza, but for me italian kitchen comes closets to servinggreatall round pizzas. bases are baked perfectly and the toppings are delicious. pizzas are beautifully presented as well.

i was pretty disappointed with our experience at the italian kitchen. a really lovely,cosy restaurant; we were greeted by the friendly manager and could smell the most delicious pizzas as we entered.

sadly, we waited close on an hour for food in a restaurant with only 10 tables occupied. we noticed that many of the tables around us were also waiting on food. turns out they had a very big table in their downstairs private room. but we were only notified about this after complaining. no complimentary bread basket to tide us over on the long wait either!

as for the food: i had the ham and mushroom rissoto and it was amazing-and a huge portion too. leftover for the next day's lunch -perfect! however, 2 fillets ordered at the table were both overcooked to various degrees. to her credit, when the manager came to the table and was notified , she did offer to take the food back. but after such a lengthy wait- the guys were super hungry and declined. this was all after having to wait further for the 4th dish at the table; a pizza that took longer to come out as the wrong toppings were put on and discovered after.

the pizza was reportedly delicious, as were the sauces accompanying the steaks.

such a lovely restaurant, and delicious food -though i'd reccomend not ordered the steak as this was not a highlight.
i'll probably be back to try the pizza , but not in agreathurry after my experience.

italian kitchen has a very cosy, homey feel about it. on entry we were asked to wait on a comfortable and striking red couch while our table was cleared. this was agreatchange from having to hang around awkwardly close to other diners while waiting. the atmosphere was buzzing as the place was very busy (cycle tour weekend) but it wasn't overpoweringly loud and we could hear each other talk.

the service started off slow but it was totally understandable as we arrived close to the end of what seemed to have been a very busy night for them. the waiter was, however, extremely friendly and knowledgable of the food.

the food has a home-cooked essence to it and can be described as smart comfort food. the portions are huge!

both of us had their chorizo and chicken risotto, which was a special for the night. the dish was complemented with sun dried tomato, cream and chili. it was topped with parmesan and rocket. it was delicious! occasionally, i tasted some kind of mayonnaise which wasn't ideal but the dish as a whole made up for it.

the ice cream cake had melted, so we were offered it on the house, but nevertheless tasted like an ice cream, honeycomb and flake perfection. i can't wait to try the real deal. the chocolate shot was too sweet for us.

looking at the menu, i'd really like to try out their cheesey starter: deep fried camembert and pan-fried halloumi.

their wine list looks pretty extensive and is reasonably priced.

we went here for the convenience of it being on the entertainer app, which means that one of our main meals was free of charge. i would have been happy, however, to pay full price for a really substantial and tasty meal.

this is a lovely little gem for a cosy, relaxed meal. i'll definitely be back to try out some more of the menu.

been here on a few date nights. quaint little place with agreatvibe, fantastic service, and a delicious variety of food. the pizzas are creative and interesting, their burgers are hearty and filling. the fact that they woodfire everything they can just adds that extra personal homely touch. i would recommend them to anyone.

i really do love this place. wonderful romantic atmosphere,greatservice, good wine (good wine is always a winner) and the food was spectacular. the starters are full of flavour and generous in portion. the pastas rich and creamy and will keep you coming back for more, they get a 8/10. i order the kitchen zink (pizza) when i visit, every slice is something different. really yummy! pizza gets 8/10, i visit as often as i can and have yet to be disappointed. will hopefully try something different next time.

italian kitchen is agreatvenue for an evening out with family and friends. the atmosphere is warm and friendly. they have an extensive menu from starters to mains with seafood, all kind of meat dishes and delicious wood-fired pizzas. try their chilli prawn starter - it's delicious.

quient little restaurant hidden away. the food isgreatand the prices are well worth it. service is friendly and charming. when busy you can wait a while for your food but most of the time it is not to bad. very cosy and warm atmosphere. it is well worth a visit.

was invited by friends. what agreatrestaurant. quaint, smallishgreatservice and fantastic food. being small i suggest you book. just cause its italian dont look past the burgers. i had the lamb and mint burger which is right up there with the best burgers i have had. the pizzas looked good and my wife's risotto was also very good. did not have kids with is so could
not really evaluate their child friendliness. want a good meal try this place
