ishka restaurant at the breakwater

terrible service, rude matre de, had to wait hours for food, overpriced, ordinary food, will not be going back!

very disappointed with ishka after hearing such great things. we went for a friends birthday and only had a babysitter for 2.5 hours the food took over 1:15hrs to get to us the waitress was really nice but it was out of her control spoke to the lady at front of house and she was so rude and very patronizing and didn't even apologize which i found shocking for someone of her position. when the food came it was great but because of the long wait we had to really rush the meal not something you want to do when your spending $45 per main. i was very overpriced for what we got and i would have expected a bit of fuss made of us as we spent $400 between 4 if us but not even to get an apology from the head of staff was terrible. so many better restaurants in perth don't waist your money on this one!!

fantastic!!!. i went to the ishka restaurant with a group of friends and found that not only was the view incredible, but the atmosphere was very pleasant, the food servings were just right and it came out promptly and beautifully presented!! everyone enjoyed their meals immensely!
not to mention the staff were lovely, constantly making sure everything was fine with our meals and very friendly. nothing was out of their way.
i have since then taken my work friends and my partner there to eat. its a little pricey but for everything you get out of the evening, it is totally worth it!!! :)

after reading the review in the west a group of friends and i went to hillarys and decided to try and get a table at ishka on friday night late. from the moment we walked in we were warmly greeted and given a table overlooking the water .. amazing views. the food ,staff and atmosphere was so enjoyable we are all going back to the private dining room for my partners 40th.. all agreed a fantastic perth venue .

beautiful views. me and my partner came to ishka and our table was on the balcony overlooking the ocean, we had amazing views. for entree's we had the seafood tasting plate and the turkish bread, the turkish bread came with a sweet balsamic vinager in oil which was perfect for dipping. the seafood entree was great because it seemed to offer a taste of some of the other entree's, my favourite on the plate was the scallop with the black pudding. i'm not usually a fan of black pudding but i've been converted, it goes perfectly with the scallop but i wasn't brave enough to order the scallop entree but i will order that next time!

for mains we had the snapper and the sirloin which was perfectly cooked. the waiter was really helpful and reccomended the cloudy bay sav blanc with my snapper which turned out to be perfect.

for dessert we had the eton mess and the minitures plate, the eton mess wasn't too heavy and i ate every last bit! my partner couldn't make up his mind so he ordered the minitures plate which was good because he got to taste a little bit of everything.

overall we were really happy with our meal and service and will be going back again.

excellent. it might be expensive, but we all enjoyed our meals and the service was friendly and efficient. the atmosphere and view was very good as well. i will definitely be be back.

went back to ishka for the 1st time in a year last saturday. the prices have skyrocketed but the food hasn't the angus was overcooked and overpriced, iga sells better meat. seems to be perth all over, overpriced, ordinary service and poor food. i'll cook at home in future

we enjoyed having a quiet lunch here overlooking the beautiful hillarys harbour on a sunny summer's day. service was friendly, prompt and helpful and the food was delicious. we used our entertainment book gold card too which made it more affordable.

not as good as the awards. we visited here actually many times (visiting people wanted to try) and it was nothing really that special.
the menu is quite small (not necessarily a bad thing, but just fyi). the meats are nice, however the flavour is nothing incredible or special, sometimes tasting a little 'dull'.

also to mention, the meals are quite expensive.

the location and view however is really good.

i went last night for my birthday and had the best meal in my 6 years of living in perth. anyone who says that ishka is overpriced needs to go back to the burbs and stay at mcdonalds. well priced, great tasting food and the service came with a smile.

extreemly dissapointed!! we went for an evening meal with friends and were extremely disappointed. we arrived early when the restaurant was quiet and asked for a mixed starter for 4 and got a plate that would have fed 2, but charged for 4!! after 75 minutes we still had not received our main meals, and were told there was a backup in the kitchen with no apology, even though the restaurant was only 15% full on ordering. we then waited a further 15 mins and 2 of the dishes were cold;duck and fish, which was also dry! we were then told we could expect some recompense, "free sweets and coffee's sir" and were told when we didnt want to wait for sweets that 2 drinks had been taken off the bill, still leaving $270 to pay!! we were then argued with by management before settling the bill. there were many unhappy faces in the restaurant and will not be going back under current management.

ridiculously expensive!!. ishka is a "nice" restaurant with reasonably attentive wait staff and food that's ok. it is let down totally by the horrendous prices across all food and drink and for the budget conscious diner, time to look elsewhere......which is a shame...... i lunched there yesterday with friends/business associates and we nearly died when we got the bill, ie: bottled table water = $9.00 (not even 750ml), a pint of hoegaarden beer = $17.00, an entree of non existant pork belly = $22.00, a weedy exscuse for an entree of tiger prawns = $23.00, an ordinary main of sirloin steak = $43.00, eye fillet @ $44.00 and duck breast @ $42.00!! we left with empty wallets and ready to head to maccas for a top up feed!!

what a let down!. we were ignored by the condesceding maitre'd on arrival and waited 20 minutes for our drink order and it took another hour for our meal to arrive. the food was ordinary (vegetables were over-cooked) and very expensive for what it was. the service in general was indifferent. what was planned as a special occasion for our wedding annivesary turned out to be a complete fizzer. a pity as it was a great location and we'd heard good things about this restaurant. we won't be going back there anytime soon.

expensive.... don't get me wrong, i don't mind forking out money on good meal, but their prices are super high. $10-15 more than what i would pay per meal... can't justify barramundi @ $42 for a 100gram portion! i ordered chips, because it didn't come with the fish and it was half cooked. the waitress forgot to put it through with our main order and was rushed.. food down stairs looked better than up stairs... won't recommend this place...

loved it. we go somewhere diffeerent every sunday and to date this was one of the best!! lovely food with great service and a nice quiet atmosphere and lots to look at. just generally very relaxing. the dessert was my hightlight as we got the taster plate which was small version of everything creme bru lee omg!! my partner loved the lot

nice food good service , but a bit on the pricey side .
