way overpriced, tiny serves, & cetainly not a great restuarant. i read the reviews for this restaurant before hand, but went with an open mind. the general consensus was hit & miss quality, tiny serves & overpriced. unfortunately, its true.

when your charging what this restaurant does the food needs to be excellent. sadly its not. when your half empty on a friday night, maybe you need to get back to basics. lower the price, & put a bit more food on the plate. the whole fine dinning thing,.....isn't working !!!!
positives for us where greatservice& an excellent location. the quail, tapas & seafood entree were nice, (bar the prawns) nothing spectacular though.we ordered 4 between us given there pathetic size

negatives the "local tiger prawns". they were bland & tasted & looked like "seconds" or imported. the mains we ordered, (the steak & lamb) were also bland & devoid of any real flavor. asked for a steak medium, came well done & the vegetables were under done after waiting almost an hour. the $9.50 "hand cut" chips which were awful, & floury which we also had to send back. ive had better chips from a two bit fish & chip shop.

this misses the mark for quality, quantity & value for money !

room for improvement. as with most restaurants with a fantastic view...you can get away with a few mistakes and people will keep coming back.

i think that is why it doesn't seem to bother ishka that we waited 45 minutes for a table...and we had a booking. i hate to think how long the poor suckers with no booking waited while being told "another minute" every 15.

at least while we waited we could sit in the comfort of reid's lounge overlooking the beautiful hillary's boat harbour...so not all bad.

theserviceat ishka was a little amateur and i can't believe they served almost cold coffee! looking on the bright side though, we were glad thatservicewas slow though because it gave us time to relax and enjoy our wine (when we eventually got it!).

the food was delicious and some might say it was pricey but i've paid more for steak at my crappy local italian restaurant. i don't mind paying a bit more for food so long as you get what you pay for, which we certainly did.

overall a great option if you want to impress someone with the decor and the view. not somewhere i'd take a fussy person though because they'll spend the whole evening moaning about cold coffee and bumbling wait staff.

great atmosphere, lovely food, servicegood at first. went for our anniversary, servicewas good early but when it got busy thought they were a bit unattentive, they could have sold another bottle of wine if they'd asked. scallops were gorgeous, crispy skin barramundi was cooked to perfection and we thought the bit of noise down stairs added to the atmosphere, although it wasn't a busy night at the breakwater. the view is fabulous. the overrall menu is pricey but when you receive quality you don't tend to mind as much. the drinks were also overpriced but then that is perth in general.

girls lunch - disappointing experience. a very disappointing lunch at ishka at hillarys today ! my friend and i's steak and mash both came out cold, so we sent them back, they came back not even 5 minutes later, ...... still not hot - too embarrassed to send back again and not knowing what they may do to them, we all know what happens if you send back your food !! when the steaks returned, still not hot enough, still cold, the waitress never even came back to check it was now acceptable ?? when the waitress took the plates away we explained that the meal was still not hot enough and we were too embarrassed to complain again so the on duty manager came over and said that if we had desert "that desert would be on us and is on the house" - when we got the bill she had only taken one desert off the bill, so after debate between myself and my 2 friends, the waitress and the manager, she totally denied that she had said "desert was on the house" unbelievable, wont be going there again !!! and your pudding wasn't even great either !!! fine dining - i don't think so ! the other 2 friends are regular customers too which the manager also acknowledged recognising them, and did nothing to make our experience a pleasurable one so i don't think that i will be recommending this restaurant to my very large network at all !!!!!

i wont be going back either - if you cant offer goodserviceor any compensation for a bad meal then you are not worthy of a good recommendation which i am happy to do for great food and greatservicebut sadly ishka you disappoint me !

went to ishka for a weeknight dinner. the food was impressive, great flavours & decent portions. we were very happy with the friendlyserviceand our experience overall. only complaint would be the prices - it cost us $180 for two adults and one child. we were also charged $10 for a bottle of water we were offered when we arrived. $10 for a bottle of still water which probably came from the tap!!!!

just no!!! food generally ok,service- zero, music deafening. i know it is a pub but if you are going to have a "classy" restaurant in the premises the noise needs to be softened. toilets disgusting. friendliest staff were the guys on the door. butserviceabsolutely appalling, i don't blame the waitresses there seemed to be no one in charge, no one taking control.
never ever again :(

i would like to say that i enjoyed my experience tonight but unfortunately theservicewent missing. we had to wait easily 15 minutes just to order a drink, unfortunately the waitress didn’t know how to use the ordering tablet and didn’t know the difference between a cider and a cocktail. once we got our drinks orders a different waitress came to take our food order and after that allservicethat we had waited for disappeared. once we had finished our first round of drinks we had to ask a staff member for the drinks menu so we could order another drink, yet again we had to wait for our order to be taken. only after our meals had arrived we had to ask again for our drinks to be ordered. by the time our drinks arrived we had just about finished our meals. the worst part of the night was that is was my daughters 18th birthday and i convinced her to go to ishka over cocoa’s as the last time i went to ishka theservicewas brilliant. you have dropped the ball and i will have to think twice about going again.

tonight we had the seafood entree, eye fillet and barramundi main and it went down better than the castellano hit. the setting and mood was that good, it would have made carmella soprano blush! we can forgive them for making us feel invisible at times because they were busy tonight with a wedding function next door and a high tea. however i stand by my recommended rating of 4 out of 5 rating because the customerservicewas average.

having a bit of a break from adelaide in scarborough, perth foodie mate and myself decided to head to ishka for dinner. although we had read mixed reviews from different sites, we thought, we will try anyway! well! my foodie friends! we really should have taken notice and not bothered, severe waste of money.

the décor is actually quite lovely (except the dining chairs look a bit cheap which i found unusual).

service was good, except for the fact that they did not handle complaints too well, the most difficult job for a waiter, as this is usually not their fault.

we started with some cocktails, which were okay, the marshmallow martini i had was uber sweet, so beware!

i ordered the lobster, cuttlefish entrée and foodie mate had the beetroot ricotta ravioli, underwhelming, you know? when you have finished your entrée and no one has anything to say about it! i am not even sure that i had wa lobster, tasted like slipper lobster and was overcooked. the cuttlefish had no flavour, sauces were okay and a bit of shredded iceberg and cherry toms, not really fine dining fare. the ravioli was under seasoned and lacking in ricotta. we also shared some oysters with the crispy bacon and smoked chilli, really nice but no crispy bacon. i had a second entrée as my main, which was the smoked duck dish and didn’t eat this, the combination does not work, cold slices of duck, fat not rendered properly, skin not crispy at all and yet the pears were warm! crisp bread doesn’t belong on the plate either, goat cheese nice though! although these are all good ingredients, they didn’t come together as a whole dish. foodie mate had the pork dish, which any home cook could have done, this is not the standard we were expecting. had mash as a side which was also left, just wasn’t up to standard.

the biggest disappointment of all, was the dessert platter to share.

we had a terrible choc pudding which was not a pudding at all, like a dry brownie with cheap choc bits, lime rice coconut was just a bit of dry rice with zero taste, brulee was okay, rasp & almond tart was passable, again lacking taste and the eton mess was just that.

we did say a few words to our waitress about our meals, which was taken on board and referred back to the kitchen, but, we received no acknowledgement. it was only when we went to pay, that we were refunded the duck and the mash, but still, no words from the kitchen or management.

what we found, overall, was that the décor andservicejust didn’t match the food that was being served, there is room for improvement here and this should be acted upon immediately.

5 star venue, serviceand price but none of the food stacked up. started with massive juicy looking seared tasteless cold scallops ( not sure how you remove the taste from scallops)? my wife's scotch fillet was a poor quality piece of meat and overcooked (ordered rare). my fillet ticked all the boxes cooking wise, but we topped off with an underwhelming serve each of the chef's take an eton mess. this was our let's give it another try visit the last one for another year or two.

i read the recent reviews and still chose to come here. why did i do it? maybe i wanted the sea view, the fancy setting, or may be i wanted the nice drive up to the boat harbour....

don't be fooled by the location. this is the ultimate restaurant rip-off.

the $46 seafood entree plate (to share) was so overpriced it was an insult. it included 2x tiny oysters, 2x scallops, 2 very small pieces of cured salmon, 2x small prawns, the crab was missing, and a small avocado tian.

consider this... the oysters was $4 or $4.50 each, so that's a maximum of $9 out of the $46. where's the rest of the money going to?

the waitress advised the eye fillet 250g, but it looks much closer to 200g. i ordered it rare, and it came out medium. worth mentioning that it was flavourful and tender however.

my colleague had the ravioli. i can't comment on the taste or quality, but for $33 it was entree sized.

we also ordered a salad but it was never served. unsure if we were charged for it.

the only positives was that the oysters (though tiny) were excellent, fresh and flavourful. theservicewas attentive, but the overall experience was so disappointing that the bestservicewasn't going to make up for it.

take my advice, go somewhere else...

went here for a friends birthday.serviceis of high standard sadly the food does not match the prices charged, clearly a surcharge for the view. entree serving sizes small and expensive though delicious. had the main fish and it was dry, lacking flavor and seasoning.
