quite the experience. humpy's was listed as one of the top restaurants anywhere in the u.s., and while i think that may be a bit of a stretch, i would agree that it is quite the experience. the beer selection is unbelievable, and i've never had a bad meal here. yes, it is definitely a bar, but don't think that you're going to be served the standard bar food. and don't be mistaken, it is one busy place that packs out frequently, so service can slow down fromtimeto time. that's the price you pay for hanging in a place that excels in food, spirits and live entertainment. you have a handful of bad reviews for a place that is often "standing room only".......you do the math.

bad food. this has to be one of the worst places to eat in anchorage. the staff takes forever to wait on you. i had a steak that had to go back twice and by thetimethey bought it back the rest of our party had finished dinner. the crab legs were a joke. do your self a favor and go some place else.

terrible customer service. i have been coming to humpy's since they opened in anchorage over 20 years ago. it has always been a big favorite of both mine and my hubby. we both enjoy a really good beer and appreciate a good beer selection. my hubby and i actually had our 1st date at humpy's 19.5 years ago--we went to humpy's for beers after seeing a great white concert at the egan. we move to kona on the big island of hawaii from 2004-2011 and were so excited when they opened in the old hard rock location on ali'i drive. we were there on opening night and so happy to see an alaska company we loved come to kona! life and careers haven't allowed us to visit humpy's much since we moved back, so i was really excited that i recently started a job (last week) two blocks away. today, i had very limitedtimewith many meetings but didn't bring my own lunch. i thought finally...i can order from humpy's!! i looked at their online menu and called up for a cheeseburger.... first, the phone rang and rang. i had almost given up when someone answered. i gave my pick-up order and was told it would be 15 minutes. i had someone come to my office and talk with me so i didn't get out of the office to pick up the food for about 25 minutes. i was thinking it would be a quick jump in and grab the food since it was past thetimethey gave me for the pick up order. approaching from the rear, i was told to go to the bar and they would have my food. after trying hard to get the bartenders attention, i told him i had a pick-up order. i handed over my credit card and he went to the machine and ran it but didn't go check on the food. he just came over and said it wasn't ready--how do you know this if you don't even check with the kitchen. it was obvious that he had not put in the order, and yes he was the one on the phone i originally put the order in with.. i kept thinking ok, well the food will be good. after hangin for 15 minutes and really needing to go back to work, i went to the bar and asked the bartender how much longer would it be since i was short ontimeand had specifically called in the order to save time--the response was an attitude of "i am not cooking it. so i don't know." by thetimei got my food, it was over 45 minutes since i called in the order. what did i get? a dry burger that had little flavor, terrible service, with a bartender with major attitude, and a big waste of my time. a 20+ year love affair--done!

i enjoy coming to humpy'stimeandtimeagain because it always has a great atmosphere and the food is delicious! no matter who our server is, we get plenty of attention and our food comes out in a timely manner. it's one of my favorite bars to visit in downtown anchorage for food, feels truly alaskan.you can't make reservations as far as i'm aware. but with that knowledge, we always show up a bit earlier than we plan to eat in case we need to look for a table because seating is first come, first serve. but it works out.

live nearby. i come in foe lunch once in awhile. however, the lasttimei was there, there was only one server. she was dealing with a big table, and since i was by myself, i had to wait a long time. i almost left, but when she did finally wait on me she couldn't have been more gracious, kind, and helpful.

busy, hard to get a table, but service and food is great. when catching a show at the arts center, humpy's is the best location for a beer and bite beforehand. get there withtimeto spare as they're always busy. but, as to be expected when the food is tasty and beer selection is pretty vast.

not the "old" humpy's anymore. as we all know, things change overtimeand not always for the better. a pre-show visit monday evening was mostly disappointing. our party arrived early enough to avoid the rush(it was a holiday so the rush was minimal) and were seated quickly. our order of crab cakes was good albeit a little pricier than warranted but the big disappointment was the order of blackened chicken nachos-too salty too eat(must be a way to boost drink sales). they were returned to the kitchen and not replaced. service was poor--it seemed as if the staff could care less that we were there-almost as if we were an inconveniece to their day interrupting their texting and personal conversations. drink glasses went unfilled for over 15 minutes. marginally poor food-abysmal service and staff attitude- and "tourist level pricing" mean no more humpy's for us for a while.timeto make a change-but thistimefor the better please humpy's. we will watch the reviews to see if things improve before we come back.

greasy spoon, but a good greasy spoon!. best fish & chips in anchorage- hands down. the halibut fish & chips is my go-to order everytimei've come in. the halibut is done perfectly; it is always done just right and isn't too greasy. and although i usually don't like tartar sauce, i can eat theirs with a spoon. not to mention the ambience is cool and humpy's has a ton of great local beers on tap.

i have been going to humoy's for the last eleven years and was very happy with the food and service up until this summer. the service is lacking big time, for example have to wave down servers for service, never receive requested water, breakfast took 45 minutes after ordered. i will probably never return and this is the thirdtimei received bad service in my last three visits. i also noticed one of their servers for the past 11 years is now working at midnight sun brewery, which indicates a decline on treatment of good servers if they are moving on

mediocre food at high prices.... the title says it all. if you’re into loud noise and sub-par food give humpy’s a try. i’m a longtimeanchorage resident who has given this place more than one day in court and come out regretting it every time. the reason they get away with it: location, location, location.

bad food, worse service. stopped in the firsttimeand thought maybe it was just a rough night. gave it a try a secondtimeand it was worse! cold $18.00 tacos that weren't even made as listed on menu and the "king crab fritters" or whatever they were, were a tasteless mash of i don't know what, served with a side of plain mayonaise. (nothing else) i would have sent it all back if the server would have come back to check on me. i figured my meal sitting there with a single bite out of each dish would have been enough to call attention to my table. to top it off, the guy walked by, set the bill on the table and kept walking. horrible service, enough said about that. apparently, the server didn't mind adding a little to his tip. found this out after seeing my credit card statement today... i guess i'm a slow learner, but i have definitely learned my lesson. good thing they have the whole man vs. food thing going for them so that they can continue getting non-locals in to waste their money! don't eat here!
