love it. one of the best restaurants in the city. fine place, with good style, elegant, very good food. anexcellentenvironment. i do recommend it!!!

our experience was great. from theexcellentservice we got to the exquisite food we ordered. to start off the calamari is awesome. the butternut squash soup is really good. i was going to order the mcallen ranch house burger, but the server recommended the gouda burger and it was really good! it's not listed on their menu but it's their house specialty. all the pasta dishes my other guests ordered were really good also. the dessert we ordered was named choco-mole or something like that, it was good but had a really strong taste of either espresso or cinnamon for our taste buds.

fantastic dinner!. after reading glowing reviews of house.wine, my wife and i tried it and enjoyed a fabulous dinner. our duck and brie (listed as appetizer, but my wife selected as entree) were the best we have eaten and the yahweh (sp?) salads were delicious as well. the happy hour house merlot ($4 a glass) from a small napa valley vineyard was quite good and we chose affordable french wines .. a beujolais (sp?) and a bordeaux... with our entrees. the service wasexcellentand the atmosphere comfortable, with very nice live guitar music. house wine is now on our short list ofexcellentmcallen restaurants. (we live in harlingen 30 miles away.) the tab was a bit steep for the valley but worth it ... $108 including five glasses of wine and a tip. (visited february 2013)

fabulous service, extraordinary food. from the moment of entering the restaurant through each course and upon leaving, the staff were very excellent. staff provided anexcellentrecommendation for wine with the meal and respected simple request for a good old bottle of lonestar.
garlic/lime shrimp, lamb chops and ribeye steak were top rate. risotto and pasta were perfect.
if i were from mcallen, this would be one of my most visited restaurants.

no complaints whatsoever!excellentdining experience!.excellentservice, fantastic food, comfortable setting. while it may be a little pricey, it is worth every penny. the servers are not only prompt and welcoming, but cordial and genuinely friendly. the yahweh salad and the buckeye burger are what make this place a regular stop for me.

enjoyed it.. wanted something different for my wife's birthday so we tried it. the service wasexcellentwhich was a happy surprise after reading previous reviews. one of our entrees was not as advertised but was quickly replaced by another. mistakes happen and its nice to find a place that remedies the problem without a big production. the service, the food, and of course the wine, were excellent. it is a bit loud so my only recommendation would be to hang tapestries to slow the sound down a bit.

this is absolutely a hidden gem in mcallen!! the food - from appetizer to dessert - was hands down the best i experienced in the valley. the service wasexcellentan personable. the wine list is good for a restaurant that size and the decor is very upscale. the price is good for the quality of the food. i've paid a lot more for less quality!!! i can't wait to go back!!
