edit: visited this place after a gap of 1 and a half years today. it's even better now. upgrading the rating to 4.5/5 :)

review: i was always confused when it came to this outlet and the 'khorikaa' in ulubari and thought they were the same, but after being corrected by one of my friends i just had to check this place out.

first things first, the worst thing about the original khorikaa and its sister concern 'bhut jolokia' are their absolutely horrendous service. however this place shocked me by bringing my food in around 8 minutes flat, which was unbelievable! so kudos to that. that being said, the waiters were still not interested enough and i had to call them on multiple occasions to fill my glass etc. hence, i would say that even though the service is better than the other two places opened by chef lahkar, it still needs a little more of a push.

now coming to the food, i ordered the akhaj platter and theporkwith sesame seeds (til). both the dishes were splendid and tasted great. theporkwas cooked well and had lovely pieces of bamboo shoots along with the sesame seeds which gave it a tangy and earthy taste (which i loved). and from the platter, i especially enjoyed the mati dali and kheer.

the prices are reasonable and the ambience is also pretty nice (check out the pictures to get an idea about the interiors). the thaali has an option that allows us to get unlimited refills of rice, which is another welcome gesture. all in all, i must say that this place exceeded my expectations.

a great place to bask in for pure authentic assamese cuisine. great interiors, with cane and bamboo furniture which is my personal favorite. i love the wall hangings pretty much. it's all about our incredible assam. coming to the food, the menu is laden with all assamese dishes. vegetarian dishes are also offered, so, no worries for my vegetarian friends! theporkdish is quite relishing, may be that's because i loveporkin any way or the other! however, the fish curry didn't quite impress me. it had that typical scent of those old dead fish. so that was a disappointment. nevertheless, the traditional brass ware really gave me a pleasure of being a "khati oxomiya". prices, i felt is a bit expensive.
overall, i loved the ambiance and my mother liked it so i recommend you to take your parents for a dinner date and i'm sure they will definitely like it.

went there for traditional assamese food and was not disappointed at all. the variety in the menu excites one while ordering. i had the pigeon curry which was very tender and for starters i had barbequeporkwhich although was tough was very well seasoned.

visited this place after considering thr high rating on zomato.. it turned put to be really mediocre... veg thali was very ordinary...porkon sesame seeds and duck wt bamboo... was yuck...!! bad quality... quantity... nothing was good abt thr food.... filled wt fat.. no flesh... coming from kolkata.. i wanted to try some good assamese cuisine... bt was uttwrly dissapointed... do not go thr... if u want to taste... good assamese food.... rather do good analysis frm d locals bfre hand.... the decor was not bad.... but very suffocating and 3 of 4 air conditions wrnt wrkng...!! a total flop...

awesome experience in assamess authentic cuisine. i've order chicken with bamboo shoot andporkwith black sesame and the give us payas as a complementary.

delivery is excellent butporkis not cooked well. it's half boiled or not boiled. the restaurant is not maintaining its taste.

ordered chicken thali and they sent meporkand chicken mixed curry thali . totally unprofessional . they have to maintain the order suggestions.

i have orderedporkmeat fried looking at the picture provided in the app. but what we have got is not even close to what was in the picture. clearly a total waste. no taste. worst i have ever had. if possible i would like to return it.

good food. although i wished the taste of each dish was taken care of for the veg thali. i had orderedporkdry fry too, but to my disappointment the meat turned out to be extremely chewy and hard. proper care has to be taken when sourcing meat. you do not expect this quality from a restaurant who is headed by a reputed chef.

though i am writing the review i visited it some months ago.located in the almost centre of the city to satisfy the homely cravings of food lovers for authentic assamese cuisine.
staffs are quite cool and they serves food there with love.
we ordered two veg thalis withporkdry fry.good homely taste and yes when i craved for food prepared by my mum then i find these restaurant to fullfilled my cravings.
