very disappointing. spice is favored over flavor, and the decor is overwhelming negative. chalk this up to a 'been there, done that...don't need to return'.

not really gluten free friendly. i like hell's kitchen. we have gone there a few times - most often to hear music and get a drink. when i ate there on my birthday, the food was good but the gluten free menu was basically "yeah, you can order this sandwich and not eat the bread." kind of thing. i don't expect restaurants to cater to my special food needs, except when they advertise themselves as gluten free friendly (as they are listed on this site.) that may be just a mistake... but it is disappointing. so, hopefully in the future, "gluten free friendly" should mean at least a few (i don't know, maybe 3 minimum) completely gluten free choices on the menu.

as some one who used to work for hell's kitchen, i have many things to say. joe the chef and mitch put so much time and energy into the recipes. and don't forget the su-chefs! they throw in their ideas and work so hard! to the people that complain about the servers: the servers are rolling their eyes because they know it's taking forever for your food. but what can you expect from a super busy restaurant? there's a couple hundred other people trying to order too. it's not magic. if you wanted fast food then go to a fast food drive thru. damn good food takes time.

welcome to the dungeon. i love the step downstairs to the red world of hell's kitchen. a large open space, fun daily specials and attitude make it a unique place in minnesota. i like different places. the food was excellent. the waiter was very friendly and the price for the quality was right. i usually find my way here for lunch, but dinner is also fun. enjoy.

saturday eve. we had reservations and the place was busy but not full. we were seated promptly. the service was fantastic! very comfortable atmosphere. loved the music. between the 3 of us we had walleye, lobster fettuccine, and chicken. the food was about a 7 out of 10. one of the desserts was a chocolate banana cream cake...that was so over the top in deliciousness..i would definitely go back for the desert alone.

well past it's sell by date...... had brunch on sun 10th feb. i had read about the famous huevos rancheros....i have to say that they were pretty mediocre. solid scrambled eggs - served like a slice, not soft scrambled as described. above the tortilla there seemed to be something that looked like a hash brown. very bizarre. not much taste to it - beans could do with a bit more seasoning, maybe some fresh cilantro, some chipotle sauce or salsa on the side.

all in all pretty tasteless - ideally should be well seasoned and served with fried eggs with a runny yoke....to add to the experience.

i ordered a side of toast - didn't come with any of the jams or peanut butter as stated on the menu. i had to ask for them.

service pretty useless and i was sitting at the bar, so should have been much more attentive.

the place was packed, so i guess many people go for the atmosphere. feels like the ingredients are pretty average, the kitchen staff have lost interest and the owners are not spending much time in the kitchen any more. such a shame, good concept, but given the fantastic quality of food & restaurants elsewhere in minneapolis it's not worth the visit.

best breakfast yet!. where to start with this gem... the food, service, atmosphere, and music were all great. huevos with all the trimmings and a side of toast to sample the amazing peanut butter (although almost too sweet, so use sparingly!), jam, and marmalade were the best i've had! live music even at 10am was at a reasonable level that you didn't have to yell and it suited the atmosphere quite well. pleasant and attentive service. i will definitely be back.

soooo...11 of us went for dinner to celebrate a birthday. the service and food left much to be desired. we ordered 4 burgers, all burnt & no seasoning, fries were disgusting as well. 3 steaks were ordered and all burnt as well. the bill was $310 which included $48 tip that was not deserved. the waiter had no sense of humor, repeatedly had to ask for drinks...oh i forgot the best part....i walked in and gave my last name for the reservation & she simply point & said you're over there. i would not visit again. total disappointment for the money spent.

we ordered the walleye blt sandwich. it was yummmmmyyy!! it's a mild parmesan crusted fish sandwich, with bacon, lettuce, and tomato. be sure to add the guacamole to it and the sweet potato fries, too. the portions are quite large, so it's ok to split a sandwich. cheese curds from the appetizer list are a must have. again, the portion is large, so one serving will easily feed four. ohhh, and the house ketchup....omg! it has pears in it! sounds crazy, but it's delicious :)

best breakfast in the twin cities. the lemon ricotta pancakes are to die for. other fabulous items are the bison sausage, the porridge (mmmm my mouth waters just thinking about it) and the rosti potatoes. perfect place to take out of town friends to show off minneapolis...i will keep coming at least once a month!

awesome meal! we wanted something unique to the area and were directed here. so happy we tried it. bison burger was amazing and the chefs special (pot roast) was definitely a winner. if you've never tried curd cheese, i would recommend. in addition to tasting great, the portions on every order were very generous. the atmosphere was also very unique. a must try!

the food was delicious, with the flavors of the fresh ingredients shining through. although i enjoyed my sandwich, i thought it had a bit too much cheese and not enough crunch for me to rank it in my top sandwiches; however, my neighbor at the bar said she comes to this restaurant specifically for that sandwich, so who am i to say?

can you tell that i am in blogging catch up mode  there were so many things that i wanted to have written about before the summer came along and here i am, still getting caught up on food and travel adventures from april! d has a diverse range of music tastes.  i would say considerably more far- reaching than mine.  the truth is, that i find it hard to concentrate when music is playing and often choose to have the house silent when i am working.  when i am in the kitchen, i often have the tv news on or maybe ellen, which i really enjoy.  in the car, i listen to a single station and typically hear the same favourite songs quite frequently.  d is constantly attempting to broaden my horizons and this spring he purchased two tickets to see his favourite band- airborne toxic event in minneapolis and asked me if i would like to tag along.  with the promise of some shopping and good eating, i was happy to do so.  little did he know, that i would love the band as much as i did and now find mys
