arrived around 4:15pm for an early belated mother's day dinner as my son had to leave at 6pm to go to work on a tuesday afternoon, there were only a few small tables present at the time.

we put in a small order to start which consisted of some dumplings and some california rolls... which arrived quite promptly. keep in mind that this is not the 'rush'timeof the dinner period.

then we placed another order at about 4:40pm for our "mains" which consisted of ribs, bbq salmon, etc.. by 5:15pm nothing from the 2nd order placed had arrived, we placed another order in case they had 'lost' our previous order still... nothing arrived. we went to inquire... they said to give them "10 minutes", by 5:45pm... still nothing had come out. so we had to leave. again, 90 minutes sitting in the restaurant with only a few dumplings and a california roll ...for a family of 4. this is unacceptable.

went to pay and they billed us the full price for 4 adults which came to over a $100... asked to speak to the manager, the person at the cash identified herself as the owner of the restaurant. she said that we did not give them enoughtimeto make the food... ***90 minutes*** and only a few dumplings and a california roll?!?!??! she gave us a $10 discount. her attitude made it seem like it was our fault, we "rushed" out.

this place is despicable. avoid at all costs!!!!

we thought maybe this was an isolated incident, we came home, read all the reviews... everyone has a similar awful situation and thought that we should confirm with the previous reviews, apparently this happens frequently.

this was by far our worst sushi experience in the city. go at your own risk! the firsttimewe went, it was a busy lunch hour but the staff walked past us 4 times without even acknowledging us. when we got their attention they were extremely rude and we decided to leave.

a month or so later, we decided to return to see if it was just an off day and we came for dinner this time. this was a huge mistake because the $25.99 dinner price is a joke for the quality of food!

the staff is not attentive at all, but that's kind of par for the course at all you can eat sushi restaurants so i had no expectations.

we ordered the usual amount that we get at other sushi places because we were starved. when the rolls arrived they were absolutely disgusting. it felt like chalk in the mouth and was literally garbage.

we told the staff that the quality was not good and we weren't going to eat it simply because of that and we didn't want to get charged extra. well, the waitress got the manager and she was the rudest person we've encountered. she argued that their policy is anything not eaten is charged extra and accused us of ordering too much. but this was simply not the case, we were both still hungry and shouldn't be forced to eat disgusting food that made us both sick.

in any normal restaurant, the customer is always right and they would offer to make something else. but for some reason they not only won't rectify the situation, they use it as an excuse to charge you more!!

i was appalled at their rudeness and said i'm leaving now but only paying the $25.99 x 2 meals and nothing more! the manager went from table to table asking other customers of their food was equally bad to prove that we were crazy. trust me i felt like just walking out, but unlike this establishment, i have standards that i hold to. i waited until she was done polling the restaurant and paid for my meal and left. never again will i return!

if you insist on trying this place, be warned to first try lunch and order a very tiny amount so you can taste the food first. if it's horrible, like our experience you're not out of pocket very much.

this is not only the best ayce sushi place in the west end, but is tops city wide. the dim sum alone is worth the trip. besttimeto go is 2pm during the week as it gets very busy other times.

went here for the firsttimelast week and loved it. along with 168 sushi on merivale, this is probably one of the best ayce sushi places in ottawa just based on the quality of the sushi. the decor is really nice and welcoming as well.

started off great but then.... sat evening, yes hockey night so fairly busy. we came early, 4 adults and two children. first order was taken quickly, second small one we had to wait for a bit. when we attempted to order for a thirdtimeincluding the kids ice cream we had to wait for at a bare minimum of 25 minutes. i think we only got served then when my wife held the card up at head level, looked ridiculous but the service was ridiculous. food was good but we're definitely going to have to think twice about coming here again.

food is ok service is awful!!. so we went during the lunch buffet which is a busytimei understand that. however we ordered several sushi rolls along with a few other chicken dishes. we got most of the chicken dishes and then waited for 20 minutes before any of the rolls came. then we waited for another 20 minutes and the rest did not seem to be coming at all. so we ordered more and then waited another 30 minutes and still nothing came (either from the first or second order) so one of our party went to talk to the manager and the manager just told us that the rolls had all come out... so some other table got our orders?! because we know we didn't get them all. after talking to the manger we got two more plates rather quickly, however we know we didn't get all our orders. but we had to leave so we paid and left. i would never come back! and i caution anyone else going to be prepared to not get half your food and expect to be there a long time! i have been to several sushi resturants across the country and this is worst one by far!!

good food, horrible service. we waited for each of our orders well over 20 minutes - enoughtimeto create an account and write this review. they couldn't/didn't bring what we ordered and it took forever. this was not worth the price.

nothing special. i've eaten here a few times for lunch due to the close proximity to work. overall the experience has been just okay. the sushi is okay but not great. the dim sum and other options are a better choice. the service is not great. we often have to ask for stuff we've ordered a secondtimeand the servers seems distracted and uninterested. the price for lunch is a little high for what you get. the price for dinner is even less of a value and it gets even more expensive on weekends which just seems stupid. the recently opened thai express a couple of doors down has been the choice for lunch recently.

very average!!. this was our secondtimeat this restaurant. we thought we'd give it another chance but were disappointed both times!! they say it's all you can eat but it's really not. they are quick to bring out your food when you first order but eventually they just stop!! we take ourtimeordering as we don't want to over order as they charge you for what you don't eat. the food was very average at best and didn't look or taste fresh at times. we were waiting for our final order and were approached three times by different waiters who asked us if they could clear our plates and we kept telling them we were expecting more food. in the end we gave up and just got our bill. needless to say we were very unimpressed and at $24.95 a plate we expected more. there was quite a few items we never received and i'm convinced that they slow down the service hoping you'll get full and eventually give up as we did. i will never go back there again!!

very impressed. i was there yesterday for the firsttimeand i can honestly say that it's the best dim sum and sushi restaurant i know. the dim sum dumplings are amazing, the tepanyaki is awesome, the sushi is excellent and the service is the best i've had in a sushi place. our items came quickly and the hot items were hot and the cold items were cold - very nice. i'll definitely be returning.
