arrived around 4:15pm for an early belated mother's day dinner as my son had to leave at 6pm to go to work on a tuesday afternoon, there were only a few small tables present at the time.

we put in a small order to start which consisted of some dumplings and some california rolls... which arrived quite promptly. keep in mind that this is not the 'rush' time of the dinner period.

then we placed another order at about 4:40pm for our "mains" which consisted of ribs, bbq salmon, etc.. by 5:15pm nothing from the 2nd order placed had arrived, we placed another order in case they had 'lost' our previous order still... nothing arrived. we went to inquire... they said to give them "10 minutes", by 5:45pm... still nothing had come out. so we had to leave. again, 90 minutes sitting in the restaurant with only a few dumplings and a california roll ...for a family of 4. this is unacceptable.

went to pay and they billed us the full price for 4 adults which came to over a $100... asked to speak to the manager, the person at the cash identified herself as the owner of the restaurant. she said that we did not give them enough time to make the food... ***90 minutes*** and only a few dumplings and a california roll?!?!??! she gave us a $10 discount. her attitude made it seem like it was our fault, we "rushed" out.

thisplaceis despicable. avoid at all costs!!!!

we thought maybe this was an isolated incident, we came home, read all the reviews... everyone has a similar awful situation and thought that we should confirm with the previous reviews, apparently this happens frequently.

the food was horrible. the meat was overcooked and burnt. sushi pizza had overcooked fried rice and a pile of crab with absolutely no taste at all. sushi did not taste fresh. do not recommend thisplaceat all. will never order from thisplaceagain.

the worst sushi we ever had in restaurant!
some of them even tasted like left over food or even rotten.
supermarket sushi quality will be much better that in this place!
we could not eat most of the food and  80% just left on the plates!
the prices $29 per person (also for the kids 11/12 years old they charge the same price) are too high especially for what you get!
on saturday night only 2 tables were occupied so it says a lot...
the stuff from 1 to 10 i would rate it 3.
will never come back and do not recomend thisplaceto anyone!

totally uninterested and indifferent staff. food that tasted leftover - and we were there at 11:15 am, so the food should have been fresh as can be! several dishes never appeared at our table. we had to ask for the wasabi and ginger. unacceptable.

thisplacehas gone off the rails and i guess it's well known because at noon only five tables were occupied.

i will no longer give this restaurant my business nor recommend it to anyone. i can't believe how much they've gone downhill. shame, really.

this is not only the best ayce sushiplacein the west end, but is tops city wide. the dim sum alone is worth the trip. best time to go is 2pm during the week as it gets very busy other times.

just like every other all you can eat sushi place; as soon as they are reaching one year being open their food and service decline dramatically.
brought a friend here this evening for supper, there were two other tables, the first thing i noticed was how dirty our server's clothes were. the menu's were dirty and gross as well. the food took forever and the service was horrible to the point that we got up to leave even though we weren't finished because he never came to pick up our paper with our dessert order yet someone ran right over to the cash to take our money to pay $30 to a rude cashier who didn't even say your welcome or a thank you and when i told her she should respond she mouthed me off with no hesitation. to sum it all up thisplaceis dirty, dingy, slow, rude and i will never return.

really? i have tried over 15 times in the last month to call thisplacefor a phone in/pick up order for small and large parties. never, ever does anyone answer, and when i walk in and ask why no one answers the phone, they say it's because "they are too busy" ... 4pm on a monday night? i'm trying to support locale , but thisplaceis not supporting me in return.

for an ayce sushi it's not bad in comparison to the other places here. i believe you get the best bang for your buck (not including gasoline to come here though) going here because there's barely any substantial difference in dinner and lunch save for some rolls and sashimi. for lunch you get an array of dim sum selection, which in general were pretty good for a buffet-type place. 

service is really slow, restaurant is really small, so it's not a greatplaceto go if you are in a hurry.

our favourite here is the fusion house roll (ice cream wrapped in crepes pretty much), it is really good and we've never seen any other places have this.

absolutely abysmal.. terrible music. loud because of little to no sound buffering. waited an hour for service. unacceptable. we were about to walk out when someone finally showed up to take our order. no apology. we were so hungry by then we just stayed. it was a mistake because the food was terrible anyway and the service was slow. the price is shockingly high for aplaceof this quality. we will never return. it's just another sub par cafeteria trying to cash in on the sushi fad by fleecing people who don't know any better.

the cooked food was terrible. a lot of it tasted and was the quality of microwave boxed asian food you'd get at a supermarket.
i like bbq eel.
i like pancake.
that said, don't order an eel pancake if you dare eat here. it's as disgusting as it sounds.

it's places like these that turn me away from trying new places. such a rip off.

awful. we went there last night for dinner.....waited twenty minutes for watered down pop/iced tea. we received four hot appy's in the next 15 mins or so but the sushi never came! we asked our server three times and she kept saying she would 'check on it'. after an hour and a half, we had enough and decided to just leave. the food that we did get was terrible! it was very bland and all tasted the same. the steamed edamame's were soggy and loaded with salt. it was a terrible experience and we will not be going back. the service was beyond poor and the they were clearly understaffed. it seemed very disorganized and the quality of food we did receive was not great. i would never recommend thisplaceto anyone.

food taste good , horrible service , they are so slow. it took more then 30 minutes to serve me. its not worth to pay 16.00 $ i will not come again and i would never recommend thisplaceto anybody. ridiculous

thisplaceis really amazing, i've been to many similar order of a card style places and nothing even comes close to this.

the food is well cooked, not overly salty and the service is amazing.

a refreshing experience. found by chance. visited for lunch several times and all my guests are very impressed.
it has fresh food not a worn-out buffet.
like a hidden gem.
the décor is most pleasing and peaceful and the wholeplaceis very clean.
the service is very very good with most accommodating staff and quality attention.
i will be gong there more with guests and family.

expensive for few selections. i'd go with hockey sushi over thisplaceany day. they do have very good dim sum, however their menu is not very large and the price is very steep especially for dinner. came to almost $30 with tax and tip compared to $25 at hockey.

new menu - great selection. they have recently introduced a new menu with some excellent new dishes. it has become our favourite sushiplacein ottawa. staff is very friendly.
