do you have a hankering for some fries, gravyand cheese curds in the late hours of the night into the wee hours of the morning? fritz is open late and is a great way to satisfy your itch for some poutine. it's not particularly cheap, but the fries are cooked perfectly and you can never go wrong with poutine anyhow.

we got the chicken poutine and mango curry chutney and chili chutney. the poutine was good, the chicken was tender and flavorful, thegravywas good and the fries were good too. overall a great place to try canadian poutine for visitors , tourists and locals. as for the dips they were what we would call aioli rather then chutney but they were good none the less. we liked mango curry better.

as i walked by this poutine restaurant many times, i would love to try their poutine. here i ordered a small chicken poutine. who took my order was probably the owner of the restaurant. she was very nice and friendly. her service was very well even though this restaurant was like a fast food place.

the poutine was very "canadian" and local. although i ordered a small chicken poutine, the portion was quite big and filling. i was full the whole afternoon after eating the poutine by myself. i should have shared it with a friend. thegravytasted great; the chicken was actually marinated by some curry sauce or powder; and there was big chunks of cheese. there were some salt, black pepper, vinegar, and other spices that i could add to the poutine as well. all the ingredients matched well with the fries, so it was called chicken poutine. the only downside was that i was very thirty after eating the poutine.

overall, i had a good eating experience here. if i would go back for fries, i would order their fritz with their special dips.

after walking around candytown in yaletown, some friends wanted fritz. anyplace i've never tried i'm game. fritz wasn't good nor bad. only problem is thegravyis very salty and very peppery. everyone keeps talking about how good this place is, well after finding out all the drunk people come here to eat at 3am, it explains it. price seems a little high, but rent in downtown is expensive. next up la belle patate!

the hot dog – the bun was soft and warm and encompassed the sausage which tasted like a regular hot dog so it was okay. the poutine – the fries were crunchy and tasted like potatoes, thegravywas just the right consistency and very peppery. the cheese curds were good and melted nicely – nice and squeaky too

my friend had gotten a pretty decent groupon for them, and when we had tried out their poutine, it was pretty delicious, though on the salty side. the meat on top of the fries, cheese andgravymade it tasty and filling. a small cup of fries was $5 and with a topping of pulled pork, it was an additional $2.50, bringing it to a total of $7.75 (with taxes) for a tiny cup you would get for an ice-cream scoop. the flavour and texture of the pork is really good, but i thought that $8 was too expensive for fast food. but it was for a special occasion – sheepie has just become canadian, and he hadn’t really had much poutine, so i thought this was a perfect way to truly become canadian – lol.

not too bad for fast food but not the best. a small shop with poutine that reminded me of potato andgravyat kentucky fried chicken. thegravyis slightly salty but at a good temperature to melt the cheese curds and make them gooey and stretchy. definitely not the best in vancouver, the poutine at the flying pig was in a much higher league than this. probably wouldn't go back but not bad as a quick fast food snack.

best fries best service!. i love that when you walk in you are greeted by a family who has owned this establishment for 15 years now! fresh handcut fries, double layered poutine (depending on the size, you'll get 3-4 layers!!) and an array of hand made sauces and toppings. thegravyisn't the yucky watery gravy, its nice and thick with plenty of spices and nice melted cheese curds. this is definitely a place where not only the food is bomb but the staff is wonderful serving people tip 4 am and getting the order pretty fast.

nice to see an original family business thats been rocking this place for a long time now.

... fries slightly dry although they were freshly made;gravya tad bland; really not much to say about these fries, they were that unexceptional, not bad per se, just avg; really don't see what the fuss is all about...

we’ve had la’s version of poutine (from animal ) and we loved it.  but we were excited to try the real thing in canada! when we searched for poutine, fritz was one of the more popular places who specialized in french fries smothered with gravy. …i mean just look at their menu. we just went with a standard poutine (large)… no toppings and no special dips (even though i wanted to try them all). i always thought “poutine” fries were justgravyfries and didn’t realize that cheese curds were an essential part of this canadian dish! food :  freaking delicious!!! fries came out hot, gravywas even hotter. despite the heat, our little cheese curds didn’t really melt (mind blown).gravytasted great and was my favorite part. oh, and the fries were crispy. delicious. atmosphere : very small.  there is only one little table/bench inside.  we just took our order to go...

delicious!. i've tried just about every poutine in vancouver, and the one here is most definitely my favorite. the only thing i would have to say is that the 'regular'gravyis lighter and a lot different than what one might expect. if you're fond of or used to poutine with a 'darker' or beef-flavored gravy, i would highly recommend you try it with the vegetarian gravy. even if you aren't vegetarian. trust me, you won't even know the difference and you certainly won't regret it!
