poutine is certainly my go-to comfort food and guilty pleasure.  in downtown vancouver, i have tried several poutineries (la belle patate, mean poutine, smoke’s and frites) but fritz europeanfryhouse has got to be one of my favourites next to la belle patate.  located in the granville entertainment district, fritz is a small poutinerie with limited seating and a walk up window.  it opens late (ie, closes at 4 am friday and saturday) so it’s definitely for perhaps some “drunken noms.”

looking for a delicious poutine spot in downtown vancouver? check out fritz europeanfryhouse at 718 davie street in downtown vancouver. the poutine is amazing, they've got fresh crispy fries, with great tasting cheese curds! the prices may be a bit high, but it is delicious!! you have a number of options for dipping sauces as well! try the jalapeño mustard, you won't regret it! we probably have to say its the best poutine in downtown vancouver.

so i actually had this friday night and totally forgot i went! i go to fritz late night, to get my greasy fix. it’s not too expensive and a lot better than throwing your money at mcdonalds when you’ve had a couple drinks. i love getting a small fritz (just fries) and nibbling off friends’ poutine. to be fair, the quality is either hit or miss here. they’re either ridiculously good, or rather plain tasting fries. to ensure quality, you can choose from a number of their dips. i got curry ketchup, which wasn’t made in the usual style i’m used to. it reminds me more of a plum sauce and curry than curry ketchup. i’m much more of a fan of the poutine if i can handle the guilt. i would give them a 3.5/5! good for a quick late night snack that won’t cost you very much ($3-6). i just wish there was just more consistency, although i do keep coming back… must mean i like em !   the post fritz europeanfryhouse appeared first on gastrofork .

late night snacking fried up before your eyes. i came here with the sole intention of having a place to write today’s blog post on. getting off work late means not a lot of restaurants are open and available for dining. but i knew “fritz” would be, so here i was pulling up right in front. the owner watching, to be able to later tell me i had the best parking spot on the block.  their decor is themed after a medieval castle. with simulated stone floors, worn wooden benches, and lanterns hung from decorative beams. they even had their own crest on the back wall. seating is limited, but majority of their guests take their fries to go and use the benches as a waiting point in between. a few seats are equipped with arm rests, and these arm rests are equipped with holes. the holes are meant as holders for their cone shapedfrycups. as is the case for the iron stool, that serves the same purpose.  by the looks of things this was a father – daughter team working from behind the counter. they

french fries are like hugs :davie: it's no secret i love fries.  well, potatoes more generally, but especially this deep-fried variety. i miss montreal poo-tin like crazy.   i   miss toronto's dirrtttyyyfrytrucks.   it might be safe to say i miss food as much as i miss my people. i can't very well replace my toronto friends, but i can replace food.  then i could use that food to replace my feelings...i think that's funny.  i know my friends back home are rolling their eyes. i was successful in finding the perfect french fry.  my sister took me to fritz last week.  then i went again this weekend. i tried to go today, but they don't open until 4:30 pm on tuesdays and wednesdays. it's obvious i just can't get enough of these: that's mango-chutney dip.  now it was described to me as "amazing". i thought it was okay.  it's like mayo with curry. fritz's fries are fryer-fresh, piping hot, crispy, well-salted, and delicious.  it tastes amazing whether you're tall, short, female, male, drunk,

theyfrytheir fries on the spot, but they do a pretty good job of pumping out the orders. they offer five different sizes depending on how hungry you are, or if you are in the mood for sharing. aside from your standard fries, gravy, and cheese, you have the option to customize and add different meats like the montreal smoked meat (above). you can just get plain ol’ fries too, and kick it up with one of their 19 different dipping sauces.

i've tried out fritz europeanfryhouse twice in the past few months. the first time, was after a quick snack over at the roll factory (and before an awesome meal at gotham steakhouse ) at about 6:30pm. my friend wanted some and i agreed to share a large poutine with smoked meat on top ($9.50). maybe because i wasn't super hungry and wanting to save space for an expensive meal at gotham, but the poutine was good, but not amazing. i liked that the fries were crispy and airy in the middle. the cheese curds were quite large, and melted with the hot gravy. there was pretty decent chunks of montreal smoked meat. when we went, it wasn't busy at all, and maybe us and 2 other people grabbed some poutine. it took quite a while to get our food. i guess at this time it's not busy at all, so he doesn't have fries sitting around, so everything is fresh. problem is you have to wait. we waited about 10 minutes. the second time was just last week after a night out drinking. there was quite a lon

i come from a franco family and no this is not traditional franco poutine, but it's great in its own right. it's a dutchfryhouse not a québécois poutine place. the staff is amazing. i go every 2 months yet they always remember my order. i highly recommend it.

fritz europeanfryhouse is still on of the most popular places for people to get poutine in vancouver. along with mega bite pizza, it's common for locals to hit up fritz for midnight munchies in downtown vancouver.

to be honest, i've only been to fritz europeanfryhouse a handful of times. the trouble is that i love fried potatoes and fritz fries a really good potato. portrait of afrycone if i don't keep it in the special treat category, i'd soon be rolling down
