we got the chicken poutine and mango curry chutney and chili chutney. the poutine was good, the chicken was tender and flavorful, the gravy wasgoodand the fries weregoodtoo. overall a great place to try canadian poutine for visitors , tourists and locals. as for the dips they were what we would call aioli rather then chutney but they weregoodnone the less. we liked mango curry better.

been here a few times in the late night, for they are open past 12. fritz has agoodselection when it comes to toppings, vegan options, and dips. the only problem is affording all of them. a small plain poutine alone is $6.50. small is no understatement either. the last time i came here, my stomach ached afterwards, as did the stomachs of my 2 other friends. i’ve come here other times and been okay, but somewhere like smokes poutinerie is more of my go to.

as i walked by this poutine restaurant many times, i would love to try their poutine. here i ordered a small chicken poutine. who took my order was probably the owner of the restaurant. she was very nice and friendly. her service was very well even though this restaurant was like a fast food place.

the poutine was very "canadian" and local. although i ordered a small chicken poutine, the portion was quite big and filling. i was full the whole afternoon after eating the poutine by myself. i should have shared it with a friend. the gravy tasted great; the chicken was actually marinated by some curry sauce or powder; and there was big chunks of cheese. there were some salt, black pepper, vinegar, and other spices that i could add to the poutine as well. all the ingredients matched well with the fries, so it was called chicken poutine. the only downside was that i was very thirty after eating the poutine.

overall, i had agoodeating experience here. if i would go back for fries, i would order their fritz with their special dips.

after walking around candytown in yaletown, some friends wanted fritz. anyplace i've never tried i'm game. fritz wasn'tgoodnor bad. only problem is the gravy is very salty and very peppery. everyone keeps talking about howgoodthis place is, well after finding out all the drunk people come here to eat at 3am, it explains it. price seems a little high, but rent in downtown is expensive. next up la belle patate!

the hot dog – the bun was soft and warm and encompassed the sausage which tasted like a regular hot dog so it was okay. the poutine – the fries were crunchy and tasted like potatoes, the gravy was just the right consistency and very peppery. the cheese curds weregoodand melted nicely – nice and squeaky too

not too bad for fast food but not the best. a small shop with poutine that reminded me of potato and gravy at kentucky fried chicken. the gravy is slightly salty but at agoodtemperature to melt the cheese curds and make them gooey and stretchy. definitely not the best in vancouver, the poutine at the flying pig was in a much higher league than this. probably wouldn't go back but not bad as a quick fast food snack.

too pricey. the fish and chips aregoodbut too pricy. more like a $6.50 portion. the ipad tricks you into tipping when paying for purchase with debit. 5 minutes in the store and you smell like a greasy piece of cod, could use better ventilation in restaurant.

a while back ago, i tagged along on a visit to fritz after hearinggoodthings about this place on davie st. here, i ordered a medium poutine with a side of  cajun ketchup . the dip was just "fancy" tasting ketchup, really. the poutine was prettygoodthough and i liked that the cheese curds were layered through out the fries. as for the gravy, it was on the slightly salty side but it didn't stop me from finishing the bowl clean. i'm personally not crazy about poutine in general but this place definitely hits the spot. not bad at all.

so i actually had this friday night and totally forgot i went! i go to fritz late night, to get my greasy fix. it’s not too expensive and a lot better than throwing your money at mcdonalds when you’ve had a couple drinks. i love getting a small fritz (just fries) and nibbling off friends’ poutine. to be fair, the quality is either hit or miss here. they’re either ridiculously good, or rather plain tasting fries. to ensure quality, you can choose from a number of their dips. i got curry ketchup, which wasn’t made in the usual style i’m used to. it reminds me more of a plum sauce and curry than curry ketchup. i’m much more of a fan of the poutine if i can handle the guilt. i would give them a 3.5/5!goodfor a quick late night snack that won’t cost you very much ($3-6). i just wish there was just more consistency, although i do keep coming back… must mean i like em !   the post fritz european fry house appeared first on gastrofork .

they fry their fries on the spot, but they do a prettygoodjob of pumping out the orders. they offer five different sizes depending on how hungry you are, or if you are in the mood for sharing. aside from your standard fries, gravy, and cheese, you have the option to customize and add different meats like the montreal smoked meat (above). you can just get plain ol’ fries too, and kick it up with one of their 19 different dipping sauces.

while lbp is infamous for its traditional cheese curds that don't melt, fritz is known for the exact opposite -- cheese curds that melt in your poutine. this wasgoodin its own way; i do like my melted cheese, but just thinking about cheese curds squeaking amuses me oh so much.

is it 2 am? do you have the munchies?. well, if it is, it just might be time for fritz. sure, it's small and you are going to have to throw some elbows to work through the drunken crowd but it's worth it. they do give me the stink eye when my american nature shows and i turn down their vast array of sauce for simplygoodol' ketchup.

oh, and if you have a drinking team mate, you can divide and conquer. one of you can fight through the crowd for fries. the other can cruise across the street to tsui hang village's window and get some mongolian beef or some other sort of greasy butgoodchinese food.

oh, back to fritz the fries are yummy. i can't comment on their poutine. but my canadian friends seem to like it.

well cheers - go get drunk - and then go get some fries!

pas de la vrai bonne poutine!. not so good. the fries were too dry, and the cheese was soft.goodquebec-style fries are a little soft and very slightly sweet. the cheese should stay cold on the inside to give a cool texture and the all important squeak. they aren't supposed to melt completely. the cheese also tasted more cheddary than regular cheese curds. the gravy was fine.

if this is the best that b.c. has to offer, i'm waiting until i'm in quebec (or some parts of ontario) until i have another poutine.
