great coffee, relaxed, friendly atmosphere. have eaten here a couple of times and i'm really impressed with the place. the coffee is excellent and the owners really friendly. nice decor. there is a nice selection offoodgiven the size of the cafe. well worth a visit.

coffee is always made to perfection. rich, smooth and always the perfect temp. i look forward to the variety of salads every time i visit and the effort in the presentation is greatly appreciated. always have a great option, this week i loved the fennel and orange salad. cant wait to try the spicy chorizo next week.foodis made with love and service is extremely friendly and welcoming. thanks for fuelling my body with delicious and nutritiousfoodin a relaxing space to ponder!

every time i come to rye i visit freaky tiki! coffee is good and thefoodis well priced and with large portions :) would recommend checking this place out!

service good and this is the go to place for coffee.foodis also pretty good here, nothing to blow you away but always good. have been here several times and would recommend it.

great food! staff are all over the place, so small no room to scratch yourself . i think the owner needs a lesson in running a business so many customers been turned away for different reasons, no serving thefoodon display... thats for tomorrow lol seriously !!! hours change as they please!! as i said greatfoodtho pitty the people running it are so inexperienced it could be a real knock out this place!!!

freaky tiki is certainly a decent option for brunch on the peninsula, but then again the competition isn't exactly fierce. what this place offers is some relatively uncomplicated options that make good use of fresh produce, and many of which will be attractive to the health conscious.

shared a special that consisted of pieces of eggplant, raw spinach, poached eggs crusted in dukkah, and some blobs of hummous. not an overly exciting dish, but very palatable nonetheless. the bikini blowout which was the bastard love-child of a menage-a-trois between an avocado, eggs benedict and some bacon was tasty, but not something i need to run back to re-order.

we also shared a carrot cake, which i should have realised may have been a bad idea when i noticed there were only two pieces left. i'm sure it had been great several days beforehand, but when it reached us was dry with an overly sweet icing. i personally don't think that it is okay to serve a cake that is several days passed its prime.

i had two coffees there, and while the latte art wasn't likely to make it to sf moma, it may have found a nice spot at mona. regardless of how pretty the coffees looked, they were honestly some of the best i've had in the area. a berry smoothie was also good, although bordered on the sweet side.

overall freaky tiki is well priced, especially for the peninsula. it's a good option for coffee andfoodwith a healthier bent. there is a fair amount of pre-prepared produce under the counter, and maybe this is best avoided for freshly made items from the menu. a decent choice if you're after brunch in the area, but i wouldn't be driving from the cbd to visit. i'd certainly have no qualms about coming back at some stage, but i'll be trying some other places beforehand.

cute little cafe...bit small tho very squashy inside .foodis amazing ! eaten there more than 10 times always great! coffee is good but the wait for coffee in the mornings was making me late for work so i now go elsewhere and so do my work colleges so they lost 6 customers cos they cant cope with the morning rush! !!

my family of 4 visited freaky tiki for lunch today. the small cafe has a great hippy vibe with friendly service and a small selection of healthy dishes and burgers, freshly squeezed juices and coffees. thefoodwas good for every reasonable prices. it is a bit disappointing when u arrive early for lunch and they have already run out of some items, but other than that, it is worth a visit.

great coffee and super healthy and freshfoodthat doesn't cost the earth. breakfast and lunch one of my favourites on this stretch of the coast. love it!

an awesome place forfoodand coffee. was down in rye for labour day and had a great lunch there. coffee was great so was the chili chicken burger. highly recommended!

oh yummm!. bikini blowouts all round with juice and coffees. everything was great and atmosphere was fun. coffees were excellent,foodwas hot and delicious and staff were friendly and flexible when some wanted scrambled egg instead of the regular poached. very generous servings too. enjoyed the experience so much we bought a range of salads for our bbq that night. as expected, they were great too! know where i am heading when we visit from canberra again.

just love it... wont say a bad thing about freaky tiki. there a young couple hope and anton who have just purchased this café..there putting there heart and soul into it..and maybe some might wait some might not..but its the type of place that's not a quick 15 mins meal. (its no mcdonalds) its a feel good cafe like home to me. order sit and relax...great cruzy music. great local coffee and fresh local produce goes into their food..its honest and yet somewhat appealing to all ages..i never want to leave..i love it ... p.s. the girls are always friendly..i give any new business ago.

i came across this funky quirky little cafe in rye..sat down and was greeted with a big smile. .hi my names hope. .on her suggestion i ordered the sunrise salad with a cofee ..local brand too .my sunrise salad was to die for. bacon spinach pumokin lettuce avocado seeds .perfect for any paleo addict..there is a rsnge of beautiful salads .pasta . chicken mango quinoa and .fruit salad too..beautiful fresh muffins. .on paying my bill i thanked hope..and said i loved thefood.and ill definitely be back..she said good im the new owner. .such a cafe .great friendly atmosphere .i will b back :-d

this place isn't bad but clearly can't cater to its apparent popularity. we waited 45+ minutes for ourfoodon a sunday morning.
coffee was okay but again, very slow to be made.
food was fine.
avoid if you don't want to wait around for food!

good food. we had lunch on the 12th of jan 2014 the cafe was so busy, the middle of the holiday season so we were patient. we enjoyed thefoodand coffee were later told that they were understaffed that day as two had called in ill. we will return again when visiting rye.
