a cute little place tucked around the corner from rye woolworths. loved the coffee, not too sweet and not too bitter. shared a chicken burger, a beef burger and a tuna salad with my partner. burgers were a good size and were packed with flavour ( i personally preferred the chicken one). i was a little disappointed that the burgers didn’t come with chips, but the salad was a great (and healthier) alternative and the meal was enough to leave the 2 of us stuffed. will definitely bebackto try the sticky date pudding they had on the counter :)

really love this place. very small but cozy. they have a sit down menu as well as pies and sandwiches in the front fridge. we stopped in for a late lunch (right on 2pm) friday and although their breaky menu is up til 2pm, they didn't even hesitate to turn the poacherbackon just for us! bf and i both ordered the bikini blowout. turkish bread with smashed avo, bacon, poached eggs and hollondaise! damn it was good! coffee was also really nice and scored a free coff after they forgot about the side of hash brown we ordered. was completely unnecessary but appreciated. the service was awesome. ft is a great addition to rye.

freaky tiki is certainly a decent option for brunch on the peninsula, but then again the competition isn't exactly fierce. what this place offers is some relatively uncomplicated options that make good use of fresh produce, and many of which will be attractive to the health conscious.

shared a special that consisted of pieces of eggplant, raw spinach, poached eggs crusted in dukkah, and some blobs of hummous. not an overly exciting dish, but very palatable nonetheless. the bikini blowout which was the bastard love-child of a menage-a-trois between an avocado, eggs benedict and some bacon was tasty, but not something i need to runbackto re-order.

we also shared a carrot cake, which i should have realised may have been a bad idea when i noticed there were only two pieces left. i'm sure it had been great several days beforehand, but when it reached us was dry with an overly sweet icing. i personally don't think that it is okay to serve a cake that is several days passed its prime.

i had two coffees there, and while the latte art wasn't likely to make it to sf moma, it may have found a nice spot at mona. regardless of how pretty the coffees looked, they were honestly some of the best i've had in the area. a berry smoothie was also good, although bordered on the sweet side.

overall freaky tiki is well priced, especially for the peninsula. it's a good option for coffee and food with a healthier bent. there is a fair amount of pre-prepared produce under the counter, and maybe this is best avoided for freshly made items from the menu. a decent choice if you're after brunch in the area, but i wouldn't be driving from the cbd to visit. i'd certainly have no qualms about comingbackat some stage, but i'll be trying some other places beforehand.

been here once when we were after a quick lunch. the cafe has a cool, quirky vibe to it, with lots of artwork for sale and also some games, like noughts and crosses, to play. i had a chicken turkish roll which i enjoyed; the flavours were great, it tasted fresh and it was reasonably priced (for a uni student budget). service was good too! would comebackif i'm in the area again.

just love it... wont say a bad thing about freaky tiki. there a young couple hope and anton who have just purchased this café..there putting there heart and soul into it..and maybe some might wait some might not..but its the type of place that's not a quick 15 mins meal. (its no mcdonalds) its a feel good cafe like home to me. order sit and relax...great cruzy music. great local coffee and fresh local produce goes into their food..its honest and yet somewhat appealing to all ages..i never want to leave..i love it ... p.s. the girls are always friendly..i give any new business ago.

small and quaint, we had high hopes for this little cafe. however, we were grossly disappointed. we were told that a large table had ordered lots of food so there would be a 20 minutes wait for food and he'd let us know when we could order. ok. no big deal. these things happen. about ten minutes later, the large table's food begins to come out and we notice the same waiter taking food orders from another customer. we ask another waitef if we can order and she's baffled as to why we were asked to wait.

so we order. my husband and i then his mother and her husband. within seconds of each other. the original waiter began to get flustered and short changed my mother in-law $10 and couldn't figure out what he did wrong so he sent herbackto her seat.

time passes. the large table finishes their food and their plates are cleared. still no sign of our food. forty minutes since we ordered and my mother in-law and her husband get their food. so does another table. no sign of our order of scrambled eggs and a basic burger.

i ask if there is a hold up. the waiter rudely snaps 'i told you there would be!' i insist that the large table has finished so i can see why we'd still be waiting when orders after ours have been served. he wrote my order again, rolled his eyes and begrudgingly walked into the kitchen.

moments later he sheepishly returns to tell us our food isnt coming. that the order was missed. by this stage our family had finished their food and we had had enough of waiting in their establishment.

we got an almost full refund on the missing food (the waiter is so rubbish at math he shorted us 50c that i wasn't going to bother with) and left an hour after we'd arrive still starving.
