this place is very good for vegos because meat here is largely treated as a side. nonethless, the options are not bad for light meals. i had the poached eggs with barley and a mandarin soda. very nice decor.servicewas very slow considering the complexity of the meal.

chai $4.50 black tea leaves have been steeped in milk and left to continue brewing in the pot. it’s flavoured with ginger and honey and contains a comforting, aromatic blend of spices. herb and olive rolled eggs, flowers, saffron whipped chevre, with pickled eschallot and carta da musica $17 perfectly poached eggs are rolled in a black olive ‘dirt’, carta da musica – an unleavened bread, is wafer thin and arrives placed on top of the entire dish. break this up into pieces to soak up the gooey yolk. it’s certainly an elegant tasting plate of food what with creamy chevre cheese and saffron. there’s plenty of rich hollandaise sauce spliced with sour pickled eschallots and a herby salad. there was a hairy caterpillar in one of the flowers, you can actually see the little guy on the right in one of the pink flowers. i let one of the staff know and he took my lunch guest away.  that same day, i emailed fleetwood macchiato, asking if i could get a discount for the next time i ate there. soon afterwards, i received an apology and a 20% discount on my next visit. we use fresh produce, and the edible flowers on that dish are very delicate and cannot be washed without destroying them; thus they can sometimes  attract stray friends like you encountered, as all fresh produce can. i thought it strange they didn’t mention checking the flowers for insects. if the flowers are so delicious to bugs, then they should be examined before presenting to people for consumption shouldn’t they?   cafe two ants, potts point there is a little cafe near elizabeth bay, it’s got a simple fit out, they make coffee and have an all day breakfast.serviceis very warm and friendly, i ordered a big breakfast here and this is what it looks like: generous big breakfast $15.50 it’s massive. it consists of two poached eggs, side of bacon, beef sausages, avocado, tomato, rocket, two thick slices of buttered sourdough and a pat of ricotta. beforehand, i was starving but by the end, i left a slice of sourdoug

nice little cafe in enmore, seems to promote a sustainable and charity conscious concept, selling keep cups and 'bread and butter project' bread.!! an array of sweet treats in the window was appealing but we preferred a meal option on this day. we got the cured kingfish, with pickles, a crunchy cracker and a poached egg. we also got the corn bread with corn, and poached eggs. both were lovely light dishes. got a coffee (the large is extremely large) and a cold drip. nice little window for takeaway coffees. ourservicestaff were lovely.

had breakfast here on a very busy weekend morning.servicewas very polite and efficient and the coffee was great. my partner and i both ordered the cured trout  which came with an egg, toast and a water cress and fennel salad.  a potentially delicious dish was totally spoilt by overseasoning, to the point where the saltiness made the trout borderline inedible .  a very disappointing experience and a shame to leave lovely looking trout sitting on the plate

i was first notified of fleetwood macchiato's existence by m, who stumbled across their blog featuring almost artistic plating of their food. at the time, neither of us paid much attention to it because it was in an area that we didn't frequent. fast forward a couple of years and w is living nearby so fleetwood macchiato came to mind for brunch.

the cafe is absolutely tiny but it has no shortage of fans so it is no surprise that at 11am on a sunday morning, there was a significant wait for a table for four (m's boyfriend was joining us). i can't remember how long we waited but it was at least 40 min if not more so we were ravenous by the time a table became available. during our wait, i had already sussed out what i wanted - the bacon and egg roll immediately caught my eye when it was brought out to a couple sitting on the footpath bench - although some doubts were cast when i saw the menu but i stuck to my guns. we all took some time to decide, which is a testament to the tastiness of the menu.

the wait for food was equally as long and our appetites were well and truly whetted by watching the chefs at work behind the counter. it is amazing how they can deliver a full menu from the confines of such a small kitchen (if you can even call it that) but it also explains why the food takes a while to arrive.

i can happily report that the wait was worth it. i completely devoured the roll, which was juicy and flavoursome with a bit of a kick from the smoked chilli. the corn gave it a unique sweetness that i haven't seen at other cafes and is an addition that i wouldn't have thought of but would readily include in any home-made bacon and egg roll from now on. size-wise, it was a generous portion and very satisfying. it was a little messy to eat, with the mayo making everything run but i would put up with the mess if it meant that i could eat it again. the roll doesn't come with protein but you can add ham, chorizo or morcilla to make it more filling and although i initially regretted choosing morcilla over chorizo (my fave, if you haven't realised by now), the smokey taste added an extra dimension to the roll. overall, i would highly recommend the roll and as i am typing this out, am thinking that i should pay fleetwood another visit.

disappointly, my chai was forgotten about until m's boyfriend flagged down a waitress to ask. i wasn't having very much luck with my drinks that weekend! the cafe started to wind down whilst we were there soservicemistakes were probably less likely later in the afternoon.

fleetwood macchiato is a new hipster hangout in erskineville, which ventures into territory dominated by the landslide of thai restaurants like thainatown and thairiffic. from the outside you’ll notice the clean wooden exterior and inside it’s definitely a cosy affair, but theserviceis great, the coffee was really good, and their official website is a tumblr account.
